Tips & Strategies

What are tips for tusoteuthis? Tips and strategies for tusoteuthis in ARK: Survival Ascended & Evolved.
For the noobs(aka new players or those who don't know much about about a tuso)when it says "does not wanna be tamed right now" it means it won't take good unless it has grappled onto a tame! Like for an example let's say you have 50 black pearls and a soothing balm( always get a soothing balm it makes life easier with these guys). Get a plesio or a tanky underwater creature(note:tuso's can't grab mosa on mobile so a plesiosaur is recommended). Get your fans grabbed by the tuso and go around where the tentacles won't hit you(like thanos said go for the head) and feed it the black pearls and the soothing balm(if you have one)! and there is a guide as simple as I could make it.
It only wants to hug you, don’t dissapoint it. It has a pretty strong hugging-grip though.
I found three MOSASASOUR before I found ONE of these
Warning: if on the switch make sure the black pearls do not stack when feeding. For example during an evo event one back pearl will tame the tuso 100% but if you feed it a stack of 8 it will only go up 1/3 of the way.
A mosasaurus with 20k HP will tank it without trouble, make sure you don’t get hit by its tentacles, reach its mouth and feed black pearls. Now you have the king of the ocean as a pet.
Use a gacha to produce tons of black pearls it's fast and less painfull then farming alphas
Best place to find these are 50 10 on ragnorok by broken ships.
The guide says they spawn very inland please tell me if there’s a cave
I easily tamed a 140 with one turtle with 10k health and prim saddle and I just looked for one stuck on the beach
Use a plesio on following you. Ride the plesio to the tuso to get grabbed by the tuso. Feed tuso and using scuba flippers swim above repeat till done.
Solo tame is possible. Just gotta be good and have a plan before hand.
How to tame a Tuso!
First, let’s prepare!
What you need: A tame. Tuso’s can grab most creatures, except Basilio’s and other creatures that you shouldn’t use for this tame anyway. Make sure it either has a high oxygen stat or can breathe underwater. Also pump it’s levels into health. SCUBA gear, no Lazarus chowder as this tame is a longer one. Black pearls, in stacks of 50.
How to tame
Find a Tuso; I have only ever found them around Carno Island. Swim down to it on your tame. Let it aggro on you and grab your tame. You will know you have been grabbed because your screen will move around without you moving it. Now dismount, and quickly swim up to its beak-thing, with the black pearls in your last slot of your inventory (In a stack of 50), and feed. Repeat a couple times, the higher the level the more feeds, until tamed.
Now you have tamed a Tuso!
Utilities
Tuso’s are very powerful, with an ink and a grab ability. Their grab ability will deal torpor as well as regular damage to whatever they’re holding.
When they are killed they drop:
Black pearls.
Tuso tentacle-a tribute for a boss, I believe the dragon.
Absorbent Substrate, a material for the gas mask.
There are also alpha variants of the Tuso, which drop:
Even more black pearls.
Alpha Tuso Eye, a tribute for the Overseer boss.
Absorbent Substrate

You can use a spino to it has a lot of hp and demage
go to rag where the artifact of the Devour is. there’s loads but be carful, sometimes alphas will spawn there.
Look up how to build a trap, it's cheap and you can literally just sacrifice an hp leveled shark to tame it. It is the best way to survive this tame.
Y’all talking about how they’re so hard to find but of course I get one in the ocean stretch that’s right in front of my house, he’s making it impossible to tame anything other then megas and itchys :/
Won't attack you 'til you attack it. If you find some washed up on the shore take a rex or something else you have with high HP (10k HP+) and let it grapple onto it - while it's grappled jump off your mount and go in between tentacles to feed. It'll let go of your mount on its own after a while.
