Encountering Tips

How do I kill a tusoteuthis? tusoteuthis battling strategies in ARK: Survival Ascended & Evolved.
Get a cryopoded turtle, when your mosa gets into a battle with the hentai master, uncryopod your turtle. The tuso will grab your turtle. Then you can attack it
Swim and don't look back, it is not friendly so don't try to shake one of its tentacles. Keep your tames away from this demon, it's a water troodon. It eats tames for fun
To whoever is questioning the non-violent thing: That means taming is passive, and not a knock-out tame
I know people say these are rare and they are. But no one said how stethly they are. I was ridding my plesio then a lvl20 came out of were and now he's ded:(
To see literal hell go to the absolute left spot on Ragnarok and go to the center of that ocean. They're E V E R Y W H E R E in that trench.
When not having this guy yet and you hop on your mosa, there’s a high chance they’ll suddenly spawn a couple yards away from you. What’s scary is that this guy, although should stay only on the Deep Ocean region is able to cross the barrier (on mobile at least, I do not know for the others) and is as fast as an encumbered(not red, not really encumbered, as in not even over 90% encumbered) mosasaurus. Wherein in mobile, the plesiosaurs are the fastest(it seems) with mosas second and this guy. Not even a speed-trained icthy will be able to outrun it. All are as fast or even faster than the giga on land. Scary if you have no plan to tame it. Can grab mosas, nearly every creature except the basilosaurus and some others. Don’t escape up, escape linearly from where you came from. Let it get stuck between every rock you know. I encountered my first tuso a few days ago. Traumatized by the speed, good thing’s I’m on my mosa and ran away. It is way, way bigger than a damn mosa. Seriously scary.
These Dino’s cannot grab arhelons or basilos it can grab basically everything else tho. They spawn fairly common along the bottom of the entire border of the island. They cost 50 black pearls per time you try to tame it it shouldn’t take too long.
Today, I Lost A Brave Soul. My Itchythosaurus Fought Brave. As the Squid Grabbed Him, I Watched My Dolphin Cry Out. As Soon as the Living Demon Was Done With My Itchy, He grabbed Me. One thing lead to another, I Lost Hard Work On A Pursuit, And My Best Itchy Friend.

For the ones saying they are rare and can’t find them they obviously didn’t actually take the time to look. Whenever I go around the whole ocean for red drops I always encounter at least 3-4 of them. So don’t be one of those guys. Take your time and actually use your eyes. Also if you’re going to fast like on a plesi mosa or ichthy then they could possibly not render in time. So take it slow and never sit still for too long.
Grabby Arms has many arms to grab you with. If you don't have a mount because Grabby Arms has already killed it it will grab you and begin shredding you with its spikey tentacles. If you have a grappling hook you can grab a nearby wall or the ocean floor and pull yourself away. This thing will break primitive scuba gear like a thatch dinosaur gate. Put your riot or flak gear back on before trying to make your escape. Your flippers are broken already.
These things are very easy to find on asa Ragnar and a so common they can be nuisances
The wild one in mobile doesnt have a height barrier unlike the mosa
Its coming isn't it passive *kills turtle* RUN RUN RUN RUN RUN RUUUUU...A
AHHHHH
Sorry I meant turtle not title.
Nothing is more terrifying than seeing one of these for the first time... especially when it decides to try and hug your tame and ends up killing it in the process :)
The Tuso is often something to fear by many new players and for most other players who have never tamed a Tuso or even have ever encountered one before. If you are looking to tame one, use black pearls to feed them (prime meat can also work though it will take longer to tame). If you see one, it will usually have a description saying “does not want to be tamed right now “. This means you will need any other smaller tame you have. The use of the already owned creature will be used as a sacrifice (bait). Make sure the Tuso aggro’s and attempts to grab the tame and not you! As soon as the Tuso gets a hold of the tamed creature by grabbing it, it will deal lots of damage to it. But in the process of the Tuso grabbing the tame, it’s time for the taming process of the Tuso to begin. Come up to the side of its head where there is no hit box and feed it black pearls which have to be located in your hot bar.(This is a passive tame so the use of trinks will not work). Feed the Tuso when it feels hungry again. Note: you may need multiple tamed creatures set on passive for this because the will kill even some of your stronger creatures. After you keep doing this procedure you have a Giant, Colossal body guard that can kill anything in the seas. Good luck adventure.
So, all of y’all are saying that Tusoteuthis’s are really rare and can only be found on brutal. But me and my friend found one chilling near herbivore island*. Were we lucky? Or is it something about ASA or the island map?
* Tusoteuthis was either level 24 or 6 don’t remember exactly.
Basilo can not be grappled by this. So it makes fighting them easier on a basilo, farm those black pearls.
In my experience, I mostly encounter them deep sea in around Lat 95, Long 30 in The Island(ark mobile).
To tame one , just lure it to some wild plessy/mosa/carbonermys(turtle) and let it grab one of them. Then just swim at side(safe) or direct in mouth(kinda unsafe). Feed it 50 black pearls and bam! U have Giant squid.
Just use balm lol they are easy to get from caves, dont be lazy.
On the Crystal Isle, in the tropical area where tropical crystal wyverns spawn. You can find them beached along the beaches. They'll only grab land creatures so keep that in mind
