Don't try to feed your tamed to this thing. Just force tame it with commands.

Good leveled packs are extremely deadly along with the pack bonus as well as nocturnal effect they gain at night, I have a small pack that can wipe a rex within seconds, my opinion, one of the best combat creatures to have at your side
