I actually tamed one of these on accident. I had built a trap for taming a Trike and when searching for one to agro I got jumped at by a Thyla and freaked out and ran to my base but the beast just jumped right into my trap. After that it was easy to knock him out with my tranqs. I named him Cole btw, he was a great guy. But just like any story about your perfect pet on ark.... you lose them. We were on a metal run and I was taking him because he can jump far. When I saw some metal I got off and started hitting it but suddenly I got attacked by 3 terror birds and Cole jumped right off a cliff to catch one. Normally these guys can survive a fall but after saving me from the terror bird he had fallen into a swamp :( . Instantly he was ambushed by a Kapro and two Sarcos. He fought well and killed the first Sarco but in the end he died. I have a gravestone at my old base which reads â here lies a great frienship that came about by what seems to have been chance but was the invisible connection between him and his soon to be owner that would spend so much time together and still be protecting his beloved friend to his death.â RIP Cole đ°đ„đ
This valiant Thyla who life was so unfair to. I just wish I had more time to tell him how much he meant to me. đ
Chapter 3: The Redwood Camp...
Bob and the other Survivors were on Diplodocuses, They were walking and some survivors were Hungry. "When are we going to eat?" Said 1 survivor Hungrily, Bob Replied "Don't worry. We need to find the Villag-" Then a Thylacoleo jumps in front of Bob's Diplodocus but The Thyla didn't attack yet because the Leader of the RedWood Camp appears on the Back of the Thyla "Ah... Jannie's Crew, Where is Jannie?" The Leader Asked Bob, "Ah... Um... Jannie was Kidnapped." Bob Replied, "We need to get her back.Now." (Second part on Dodo)

Me and my friend started a server. We managed to clutch tame a 162 thyla. After she nearly attacked or knocked out carno. After dealing with 2 golems we finally got her tamed. We named her queen. She was a champ... We loved her. She helped us defeat the ice queen on rag several times. Thyla blood op am i right. We used her on the golem boss. We defeated it.... As we were leaving.... I was jumping a gap of lava.... A lag spike hit rubber banding me back... She fell into the lava... She gave her life so i could grapple to safety.... We have a grave set up for her on her favourite spot.... She leaves us with her children... Mutated thylas named ruby shade and topaz..
Shell forever remaim in our hearts and minds... Rest in peace queen our best friend....
i once had a Thyla called Mango. Mango was light orange with brown stripes. Then I found a black female thyla who had rlly good stats. I built a zoo at that time and I had them all on wandering to make it realistic but I forgot to neuter my thylas⊠now mango and nyx (the black one) have millions of children. (They had triplets) I named them Orange, Banana and Maple Syrup. I love my triplets and my Thylas. So once the triplets grew up, I took Maple Syrup on a trip to my friendâs base across the ocean. My Wyvern dropped them in the ocean and they got attacked by a megalodon and killed. R.I.P Maple Syrup. 1 like = 1 flower for Maple Syrup.

"The Day ARK Punished Me for Wanting a Thylacoleo"
I donât even know where to start, but Iâm writing this so no one else has to go through what I did.
I spent hours searching the Redwoods for a Thylacoleo.
Not exaggerating 3 hours straight, nothing.
So I did what any sane ARK player would do: I stopped hunting and prepared properly.
I built:
a trap
campfires
a preserving bin
a bed
I even cooked around 50 prime meat on campfires and stored it in the preserving bin, just so I wouldnât lose effectiveness when the tame finally happened.
To make it even safer, I tamed a Parasaur and set it on turret mode and carried it with argy so that I could find a thyla.
Everything was ready so that when I found a Thyla, nothing could go wrong.
Then I searched again.
2 more hours. Nothing.
At this point I was frustrated, so I brought my already-tamed Thyla and started clearing the Redwoods, killing everything to force respawns. I did this for another 2 hours.
Thatâs when something started killing me on the ground.
I turned aroundâŠ
A level 150 Thylacoleo
Perfect colors
3920 HP
Just randomly walking on the ground like it wanted to mock me.
I somehow survived, dragged it toward my trap, but realized I needed my Argentavis to pick it properly. So I parked my tamed Thyla far away and went back with my Argy.
Big mistake.
The wild Thyla almost killed my Argy level 250, around 10k HP, nearly died multiple times. I spent one full hour trying to:
pick it up
save my Argy
reposition the Thyla
not die
Finally, finally, it was almost inside the trap.
Then a few Raptors spawned.
They aggroed my tamed Thyla.
Before I could react, my own Thylacoleo attacked the wild one.
I tried everything:
whistling passive
picking up dinos
separating them
Nothing worked.
My tamed Thyla killed the perfect level 150 Thylacoleo.
After hours of searching, preparing, cooking prime meat, setting up alarms, and fighting the game itself it died by my own hand without me touching it.
I rage quit.
I uninstalled the game.
If youâre reading this:
Never bring a tamed Thylacoleo while hunting a wild one.
ARK will find a way to punish you.
Learn from my pain.
Tales of Pandora
Origins of Salizar, Chapter 17: ~extinction~
Sylver was writing on a piece of parchment as they rode to battle, she was writing a brief overview of âKing Drakeâs exploitsâ which included the spear throughout the story even though he had really just found it, the tale made him seem far more powerful and brave than he was and neglected to mention his daughterâs death or how broken he was afterwards. âAre you sure you donât want to stay behind? We donât know what will be in that obelisk, you donât even know how to fight.â Grizzly said to her. âHow can I write about this epic battle without witnessing it firsthand!â She said. âYou did for the other two battlesâŠâ Drake said from high above on his carchar. âYes and note how brief those sections are? I had to get people like Grizzly to tell me what even happened. Iâll be fine.â Sylver said. âYour funeral.â Grizzly said quietly.
Caesar marched along, he didnât want to go into the obelisk for fear of his life, but he had no choice, he was bound, the man who was holding his leash snapped at him, he couldnât understand the words, but he got the gist, âhurry upâ he trodded on a bit faster.
âThe humans march to the red obelisk as we speak.â The overseer said. âGood, all according to plan.â Salizar said. âI shall alert the dragon and his henchmen and have them prepared.â The overseer said. âGood ⊠wait, is Caesar with the humans?â Salizar asked. âAffirmative.â The overseer replied. âTell them to spare him, Caesar and I never got along, but perhaps he would be willing to help me rid the universe of the humans.â Salizar said. âCommand acknowledged.â The Overseer said.
Caesar looked around him, the forest was destroyed, shattered trees littered the expanded path, huge dinosaurs surrounded him on all sides, armored for battle and ridden by humans, he could hear the cracks and bangs of trees up ahead getting bulldozed by the massive behemoths leading the way, behind him he heard the steady thrashing of the war-drums mounted atop wooly mammoths who trumpeted in support. The air stank of animal and pine. Eventually they reached the obelisk, towering above them like a shining skyscraper, its red glow barely visible in the daylight. The army crammed onto the platform below the obelisk and waited for King Drake. Caesar found himself shoved in-between a trike and a giga he wasnât able to move but he could see Drake. He had dismounted his carchar and was now standing by the terminal, he raised his spear and began to give a speech, Caesar couldnât understand but it was this; âMEN! WE ENTER THIS ARENA, NOT FOR POWER, NOT FOR GLORY ⊠BUT FOR FREEDOM! WE WILL ESCAPE THIS HELL, EVEN IF I MUST DREDGE THROUGH THE MARSHES OF HADES AND FIGHT THE CERBERUS MYSELF!â The crowd cheered, âAFTER TONIGHT WE WILL HAVE CONQUERED THIS PLACE, AND WE WILL ESCAPE IT! ARE, YOU, WITH ME!â He boomed. The cheers and battle-cries riled up the savage tames who chimes in with bellows and roars, Drake grabbed his spear with both hands and said to himself, âfor Dalia, for EsmeâŠâ before plunging the weapon into the terminal, the terminal sparked and the bubble appeared around them, they could see the volcanic landscape and some said things like âit is Hades!â And âwhat demon dwells here?â Then, the familiar white flash.
Salizar and his Overseer stood in the viewing room, looking out into the dragonâs arena, a bright flash shone and there they were, the humans. They stomped about for a moment, looking for their adversary, then they heard it, the roar of Apex, it put fear in even their biggest beasts, the dimorphidons and pterosaurs started to fly in, grabbing men off their mounts and getting shot down by their artillery. âQuite the spectacle eh?â Salizar said. âAffirmative.â âIs the drone ready?â Salizar asked. The Overseer turned slightly to look at him, âAffirmative, shall I-â âno, I want to do it myself.â Salizar said.
Caesarâs captor dropped his leash almost immediately to focus on the fight, Caesar on the other hand ran for cover, the dragon ripped through the human forces, decimating them with fireblasts, he finally landed to do battle on the ground, Grizzly was the first to charge riding on a deinonychus, his battle axe shattered on contact with Apexâs thick scaly hide, his mount jumped onto the dragon trying to tear at his scales, it did minimal damage, Apex grabbed the deinonychus with one arm, throwing Grizzly off the saddle and down to the ground, he crushed the raptor in his claw and swallowed it whole. Grizzly crawled away from the dragon, towards Ceasar who was hiding behind a rock formation, âyou- help me..â he said, but Caesar couldnât help a burning corpse, Apex blasted a red-hot beam of fire directly at Grizzly, eviscerating him instantly. Caesar lunged backwards in fear, right into a pteranodon, the flyer looked down at him, but then just flew off. Caesar feinted.
Salizar remote controlled the tek drone into the arena, using itâs cloaking technology to be unseen, he dodged through the carnage and fire of the battle, until he found Caesar, this was just before Grizzly crawled over to him, he shot Caesar with the microchip, so small Caesar didnât notice it through the adrenaline he was experiencing. âMission accomplished.â The Overseer said, Salizar cackled a bit happily.
The human forces were severely depleted, but so were all of Apexâs friends, he was red with anger. âYou will payâŠâ he said looking directly at Drake. Drake looked back, he only heard a snarl but knew a challenge when he heard one, âYOU WANT ME? COME AND GET MEâ Drake roared. Caesar woke up, a little lightheaded, but he was just in time to see the fall of a king.
Drake charged forward at Apex, who charged in turn, they clashed, Drakeâs carchar, who was in full bloodlust, biting onto Apexâs forearm, Apex bit the carcharâs torso to match, and Drake stabbed at Apexâs neck with his spear, Apex opened his eye and looked at Drake, glaring at him with hatred, he let go of the carchar and grabbed onto its leg instead, the carchar continued to thrash at the dragon, he shook Apexâs talons off of his leg and did a spin attack, Apex was knocked back a bit, but it wasnât enough. He snagged both legs of the carchar out from under it, toppling it to the ground, Drake tried to escape but his leg was caught in the tangled reins, which had torn when Apex bit at the carchar, the Dragon unfurled its wings with a mighty gust of wind which sent Caesar reeling. Apex started to rise, and rise, clutching on to the powerful legs of the carchar, Drake dangling by his leg below, they rose and rose, until Caesar could no longer see them through the cloud of smoke above, the carchar struggled to brake free or bite at Apex, but it was in no position to do either, when Apex was so high that they were close to the skybox, Apex released the carchar from his grip, with a mad grin he watched, the hopeless beast roaring as it fell. Drake accepted his fate almost immediately, he closed his eyes and prayed. âMy girls, Iâm coming.â
The thud blew dust throughout the arena, Apex slowly glid down to the surface, scorching the remaining soldiers with one mighty blast, Caesar ducked behind the rock just in time.
âIncredible.â Salizar said watching from the hidden window.
Apex walked over to the dead carchar, Drakes spear lay nearby, he grabbed it and walked over to the ledge of the arena, by all appearances there was nothing but sky and smoke beyond the ledge, Apex knew better, he thrust the spear into the border, the fake boundaries of the arena collapsing to reveal dull greyish-blue hexagons, energy circled out of the spear creating a gateway, the red obelisk terminal visible beyond. âSoon Father and I shall be reunited.â Apex thought. He walked through the portal and flew out into Pandora. Caesar had no choice but to make a run for it, he stumbled out into the forest and ran for his life.
The Ark, was doomed.
Me and my friend were walking through the redwood forest when I heard a scream. I looked over at his split screen and saw this psycho chewing on his face. I ran, he died, and we never went in to the redwoods again.
Iâm still new so pls up
My Thyla(his name is War) is the lone survivor of a wild Giga base wipe. He limped away with 200hp. I lost everything...except him. We're searching for a new home now.
I named him War because is stomach is a fiery orange that fades into grey then ends in black at his spine. Like the burning buildings of a warzone. But on this day...his name takes a whole new meaningđ„
