If you can't make a quetz trap to tame one, you can always attatch yourself to a ptera or argy with a grap hook and chase/shoot it down from the sky. Otherwise, you will have to hope it lands.

If you know how to knock out Wyverns you know how to tame a Tapejara ;)

Just walk slowly, aim your bola well then run and throw. Pop that dude in the face and wait for the good stuff

Use bolas and wooden club to knock it out it should be knocked out depending on your lvl and tapejara lvl

Tapejara can hold 4 players, middle seat-flying and you have the front and back seats, also you can pick up another person, tapejara is an awesome scout bird, but fragile just like the pterodactyl.

Don't trust a gorilla

Just have a few bolas and then tranq it.

The best way I found to tame these magestic creatures is buy building a cage on a quetz. To build said cage you would need a 2 x 3 use door frames. The way this cage works is you would need a quetz that is just barely faster then one. Once you have that all you do is move the quetz to where the tapejara would be in the cage and completely stop. This part is very important because if you move the quetz while it's in there it will just phase through. But after you stop the tapejara all you have to do is use your prefers method of knocking it out.

Build a cage out of door frames on quetz. Quickly position the cage so that tepeja is inside. Immediately dismount and then use darts to tame it.

One bola is usually not enough to tranq it in time if you are solo and they are very fast once they are free and spooked. Chase it with a pteranodon or other flyer to the volcano, then follow it until it gets stuck on rocks where you may dismount. Tranq while it is stuck and you can solo tame it even without bolas.

Tapejara's are one of the most annoying creatures to tame, once it catches a glimpse of you it will immediately fly away at astonishing speed. An easy way to tame one would be to use a bola and catch it but if you can not get close enough then use a cliff as a sort of cage and get it to fly into the cliff, easy tame.

Best way to tame one is to slowly approach with bola in hand an dont go from the front stay at the back or it will take off into the sky then once your close enough throw it an hope you hit it

Maxing these birds speed and stamina is the best way to out run the wyverns if your planning on grabbing an egg. Use this guy to bait out the dragons and fly straight up so the snatcher on an Argentavis has a headstart.

I suggest getting another bird so the person flying can pickup another tribe mate and they tranq the tape jara without losing bolas. Same technique with the quetzal.

I've always tamed mine on the backside of south tropical. Just bola it, shoot it with trans and if you're lucky the tapejara will stick to the side of the cliff! Tamed 3 that way

The tapejara is a versatile bird there for you need a bola to keep it still and then knock it out. They will fly away the second you get close this is why you need the bola

I got mine using a bola then two tranq arrows to the head

Ive found that if you can get it between you and a cliff or mountain it tends to get stuck on the rocks when it flys away. Few shots with tranq darts its down

Best not to go alone when taming. The Tapejara Flys 3x the height of a Phteredon normally so you are more likely to find this one at higher altitudes. If possible use Chain Bola on the back of a Quetzal, DO NOT GET CLOSE, although they have very little stamina and speed when tamed, but hardly ever need to land when wild. Best thing to do is to scare it closer to your base then tranq it. If you don't have anyone else, using a parachute and a high lvl crossbow will be necessary. Jump off your bird of choice then use parachute, whistle follow and begin to get close as possible. Shoot ahead of the Bird right after it turns. When it lands DO NOT STARVE TAME. Its too hard to feed the prime meat it needs. Put raw asap unless Allosaurus kibble is at hand. Keep a close eye on it, use spike walls and a door to close off from any predators due to low health, Good luck Taming!

To knock out throw a bolla get them on the ground and use tranq darts or electric prods of possible allows a faster knock out for the bollas. Other ways is ride as a passenger on a high movement speed argie and shoot as you chase it.
