What are tips for tapejara? Tips and strategies for tapejara in ARK: Survival Ascended & Evolved.
A tapejara is hard to tame due since if you get close to them they get scared and fly away. So if you can kill some ducks to get organic polymer and craft ghillie suit and bolas and tranq arrows or a club to knock out. Then feed it raw meat or prime meat. Or mutton raw or cooked. Also have narcotics or narcoberries to keep knocked out. Then have a good day with it.
Tapejara Spawn In Mid Game To Late Game Areas Such As Near Obelisks The Coast Of The Redwood Forest And Are One Of The Fastest Fleeing Dinos Best Method For Taming Is Find One Thats Gently Flying Wait For It Too Land And Shoot The Head If It Doesnt Go Down It Will Flee But If It Does You Have Succesfully Caught A Tapejara Also They Are Useful For Taming Quetzal On Singleplayer
Me and. My cousin were looking for a t-Rex and we saw it. But it ran away nut after one week we finally tame it
It's very easy an hard to tame the tapejara. If you can angle bolas, great then you shouldn't need the ghille suit. If you manage to bola it quickly run up to it and knock it out with a upgraded club or high melee damage. You wont have to waste time getting tranquilizer darts or arrows. If you manage to knock it out then you should guard an check it ASAP.
People are saying it's hard, but I ran up behind it-- WHILE ALREADY GETTING THE BILA SWINGING-- and right as it went to start flying I threw bola and KOd it. Eh
Strafe left and right, you are now MC Hammer. Can't touch this!
I found one on a little off north from the red oblisk by some ruins. I got on my belly and snipped his ass while in my chil. One shot, One tame. LVL4,it Was Around 60lat and 22lon. Gl and for God sake bring spike walls and prepare for war, these things are fragile but FAST.
Please update the allo kibble you can use prime jerky as well as cooked prime
Not very common and really fast but not a big threat plus uae bola
Really easy tame just scare it to volcano wait for it to get stuck on a rock bola it and knock it out.
Make a trap similar to a quetz catcher but all walked in and fly your quetz and tame it
Grab a quetzal and build a pen on top. Fly close and the tapejara will glitch in. Don't move the quetzal until tamed, it will fall off the platform.
I tamed a 120 tapejara with ease snuck up used a bola and a few arrows on a official server and didn't take to long to tame low health when knocked out so be careful
Solo taming for these guys you will need a quetzal with a platform to get pretty close to it while it's in the air. Bring about 20 plus bolas to hit with while it's in mid air. Once you hit it with a bola it will drop to the ground. It takes some time for them to drop , so be ready to bola it once more when you reach it. Tranq it in the head to put it down fast. Another way is to get close to it and hit it with tranq darts and when it gets spooked follow it. Keep doing this and it will wear the tapejara down and he will end up landing or flying low. They are pretty big birds so usually they get stuck in trees or rocks because of their large wing span. Ghillie suits are a plus but not needed unless you're trying to find one on the ground. Harder tame than a quetzal by far but easy to do once you have tamed a few.
When taming, (best locations by green obilisc) have a tribe member carry you above the jara as you attempt to bola it (don't get too close, don't hit your own bird, and watch the below surroundings before bola) quickly get to it and have more bolas ready as your tribe member shoots it. (Darts! Mine knocked out at .6 health with arrows!!!) then surround it with spikes/heavy duty barriers and tame away. Watch out for dilos!
Best way to tame a 150 is with cooked fish meat!
You can make a trapper on a Quetz. I used four stone foundation, one small dino gate on the front, 6 doorframes without doors on the bottom, and two ramps on the left, right and backside. Make sure the Quetz has decent speed; mine is about 230%. When you see a Tapejara quickly fly right at it and the second you think it's in the trapper hop off the Quetz! Otherwise, the Tape will fly right through the walls. It takes a bit of practice, I've captured two this way so far. A lvl 60 and a lvl 145. :)
All you need to do is wait tell it lands Flys behind and watching from a distance because once agro they will not land agian.. once they have landed have you Bola ready and sneek up behind it wrap it up pull out your rifle and trank darts and only shoot IN THE WINGS or you will kill it.. then all you need to do is put the kibble/prime/meat and narcotic witch you sold have on hand and feed your new tame
