Tips & Strategies

What are tips for tapejara? Tips and strategies for tapejara in ARK: Survival Ascended & Evolved.
Wear ghillie suit before approaching. Crouch/crawl up to then when it lands and use tranquilizer darts instead of arrows. Arrows have a very high kill chance. Once it goes down circle the tame with spike walls as tapejara are very fragile!
Must have tame for anyone who wants have a Spider-Man 🐦. This is not the easiest tame but once you have it you can basically land anywhere and i mean ANYWHERE!! if it runs out of stamina in the redwoods you can land on a tree and it will regain Stam but a bit slowly and if you are not in the redwoods you can land on the side of cliffs!!!!. Plus you can fly up down, left and right and it has a multi seat saddle. Let others now
One good place to find tapejaras on the island, is near the green obelisk, footpaw region and near lake at red obelisk. I always find them here on mobile.

My dudes I recomend Gillette suit, bola then tranq it. if u have access to allow kibble THEN USE IT! They love allo kibble.if u don't have allo kibble just use prime meat and make sure u have a lot of narcotics at least 50 or 100
Easy tame my ahh rear. look at it funny and it flies away at moch 10.
What you need:
1 full ghillie suit, they can be made from the polymer dropped by penguins
1-5 bolas
Tranq weapon of choice
20-50 raw meat (preferably with some prime meat too)
About 20 narcotics, just to be safe
I. The easiest way I found to tame them is to look at the spawn map in the Dododex to determine the best area to find one. Anywhere southeast of the green obelisk is a good are for the island map. Once you've found where you want to look, put on your ghillie suit and head over there. IMPORTANT! DO NOT RIDE A MOUNT, YOU MAY NOT BE ABLE TO GET CLOSE ENOUGH UNNOTICED
1. Walk around a bit until you find one.
2. Once you've found one, crouch to get closer. Once you start getting very close go prone (you are nearly invisible while prone in a ghillie suit).
3. Once you think you have a good shot throw a bola at it. Don't worry if you miss, it won't notice you unless you get up. If it gets away and doesn't notice you, repeat step 3 (Once it starts flying you still have a chance at hitting it before it gets too far)
4. Once it's stuck on the ground, knock it out. Try to aim for the head to conserve your ammo.
5. Put some meat in its inventory, if you start running out you can hunt in the area to get more. Check up on it every few minutes to give it some narcotics so it stays asleep.
You now have a tapejara, feel free to put a saddle on it and ride it back home. Up if helpful
I don’t know if anybody else had this hard of a time while taming this thing. First and second attempts, (every attempt is a different tapejara) my bola went through it and it got spooked and flew away. Third attempt, I managed to bola it and knock it, then seconds later it got demolished by my thylacoleo as I accidentally targeted it instead of the titanoboa about to take a bite. Fourth attempt, see first and second attempt. Fifth attempt, it was bola’d and knocked, then it got eaten by a posse of dilophosaurs who got one two many hits in before I killed them all. I gave up for a while. I had convinced myself it just wasn’t meant to be. Taking one last chance I went back out to the 2 mile radius around the green obelisk. before FINALLY bola-ing one and knocking it in a peaceful area. It was a level 4 and took 3 superior kibble (all I had brought) on 2x taming speed. Ouch.
How to change the seat in the new ark mobile?? I cant tame a dinos when I ride it as Before
Most annoying creature to tame
Probably the best flyer on The Ark, while I still think the Wyvern might be better on Scorched earth. Still, I love that you can hang upside down and on sheer cliffs. My absolute favorite flyer. 😊 good luck out there!
You can eat rare mushrooms or rare flowers to anger these things
Where are they in the center? I’m trying to practice stuff but I can’t find any
Not gonna lie, they’re REALLY cute, especially their level-up noises. MwAH MWAH MWAH!
Honestly if you find one in the air on any flyer fly high above it, whip out a crossbow and grapple to it, whistle your flyer to follow you so you don't have to find it again (or just make sure you have it done beforehand). Finally, switch to a bow or a rifle and tranq that guy and make sure you detach and pop a chute before you hit the ground. Quite possibly the wildest way to tame a Tapejara or a Quetzal.
Tip for yur Tapijara!
If yur just simply flying acrossed the map and/or heading somewhere, losing stam can be really annoying. But, for yur Tapijara there is a solution!
When stam starts to get real low, tap the chair button on the side of the screen, hop to the back of her/him, and then tap it again. Once yur back in front, the stamina should have replenished!
This may only work for mobile players.

If you're wondering "dang, why does the tapejara fly not as fast as expected, i can't even catch up to a wild tapejara. do i need less weight? lemme get rid of some items." then you're right. The tapejara loses about 55% of its movement speed when its tamed, but the game "compensates" the loss by buffing its movement speed to like 250% so that it is almost as fast as a wild tapejara, but it is exacerbated by the fact that you will usually be riding the tapejara while its weight is about 40% occupied.
