So long story short you can shoot from theyr backs but you have to land on the side of a cliff yes he can that too anyways then you can shoot from theyr backs easy way to tame them: eat rare flower on the back of tanky dino (make sure no danhers are around) bring many bolas with you cause he will be hard to hit or you hit him when he is coming towards you then just shoot at his head

Super common in Rockwells garden. Since Rockwells grden has lots of plateaus and tall cliffs/rocks, your best bet is to chase it until stuck on a rock and then net it while you KO. Considering RG is super hostile as it is I don't recommend rare flowers lol make sure to kill everything around as well after you've net it as you can't do it before hand cause you won't know where he'll land. They're super common in genesis but still a hard tame. Good luck!

I was on single player and one got stuck in rocks in a safe place so I thought I would just tame it because I rlly want one to tame, well then I knocked it out and gave it some meat and narcos so it would tame, but then I though it was taming too slow so I went to get some boost for taming and when I got back IT WAS GONE I WILL SAY THAT AGAIN IT WAS GONE AND THAT WAS A SAFE PLACE NO DINOS THAT COULD ATTACK IT OR KILL soo it just went to get milk like my dad :’)

Who ever said to solo tame a quetzal with this was cruel. I tried to switch seats midair and fell to my death :(

Tamed my first. Low level. The high level pissed me off and kept running off and it’s fast bcuz afterwards I realized I was in my mount and not in ghille suit. Found the low level. Had my ghille on crouched and bola’d it. One tranq and took 2 allo kibbles (mobile) should have tamed them sooner. I’m gonna get that high level one next with what I know now.

Got a max lvl one went out getting xp tried killing a rex lvl 449 killed it

I just had the best luck finding these. I was flying around the map looking for Titans to kill when I spotted a lvl 290 male, so I tamed it. Literally 30 minutes later I found a lvl 300 female. I had to do a pro-gamer move and bola it out of the air but I tamed it too and started breeding for an op tapejara. Only problem: I already have every other flyer in the game (besides pelagornis) so I pretty much have no use for these things. Perfect demonstration of how Ark always spawn things you don’t need 😂

So, I was looking for one. Reading the comments here, it was kinda easy. WRONG. They are so annoying. I STILL don’t have one! This is the materials you might wanna bring:

— 7 bolas (might not miss, but in case your TAPEJARA FLIES AWAY OR IS EATEN BY RAPTORS THE MOMENT IT IS KNOCKED OUT.)

— About 30 biotoxin (just in case it gets slain)

— I don’t know if tranq darts work (people say they kill it) but at least 18 tranq ARROWS (Just in case it FLIES AWAY OR GETS EATEN TWICE, TRUST ME I KNOW! IT HAPPENED.)

— A flier, saddled (I did my pterodon and my argy following, since they need to be protected and the ptero was to get there fast)

— Your favorite music! I’m just kidding, but I had it on. It may help you with encouragement!

— Oh, of course! Meat/kibble! About 40-60 (in case) meat normal and 10 prime meats (in case). You may wanna catch more.

Well, go somewhere and get it, SOMEWHERE WITHOUT RAPTORS! There is this spot by a little peninsula near the left bottom corner of the Island map. Go to the land and fly across the ocean surrounding the peninsula (mostly, it’s a peninsula) and go towards the corner curve thing to the right of the ruins when you first approach it from the ocean/peninsula. Then, see the little flat by the river surrounding the redwoods? Go into the forest, it’s loaded with tapejaras. I found 2 in 1 ark day. Knock out this thing and bola it first! Load it’s inventory with meat and SIT THERE DON’T GO AWAY. IT WILL GET EATEN BY RAPTORS, AND IF YOU DON’T LIKE RAPTORS GO FAR FAR AWAY. Protect, let it wake up as u pet, get saddle, fly. Well, bye. Hope this works, but if you’re on ark on a computer it may not work. I am on ark Mobile

No need to use any kibble or mutton on a low level. Just prime meat.

If you sit in a different seat on the saddle without a tribe mate flying it and your too close to the while shooting your tapejara will fly to the ground stay high and don't die

How do you manage to sneak up on one of these? The moment they are spooked, they take off at a ridiculously awesome speed?

If you find a high level try and get a friend to protect it while it’s unconscious rather than spikes as big theropods can kill it over the spikes

You don’t need one of these to solo tame a quetzal you can just kill the quetzal then take its implant than revive it at a revive platform but build a big a house around it then go in and revive it and tranq it then put meat in its inventory boom you have a quetzal
