EASILY the best early game tame. I tamed one in ark mobile with a slingshot and no trap then it proceeded to kill raptors, terror birds, and allos and was bulky enough to tank a lot of hits from a raptor to let me tame it GET THESE THEY ARE SO GOOD FOR EARLY AND MID GAME

In PvP the stegos are one of the best soakers due to their high hp and their very big hitbox in their spikes to cover the rider, so they are very usefull to soak turrets set to only survivors

Stegosaurus’s spikes at its back gain protection against turret and its spikes have armour. But trikes does it better when it comes to blocking against turrets as it has more armour on the trike’s head than the spikes of a stegosaurus.

They are mildly slow, but you might want to get on a rock and shoot it with tranq arrows, takes 2-5 arrows and make sure you have bio toxin on you. Takes a while for them to tame, the best thing to beat that time is to get a sleeping bag ( Not a simple bed!) And sleep in it. When you wake up shove a hundred bio toxins down it's throat, wait that three more minutes, and you got a stego.

I just use a decent sized tree to stand behind and when the stego starts to pass the tree, i do a half circle around the trunk and shoot at the stegos butt while it tries to turn around like a 90s buick. Knock it and Starve it for 25 minutes before you add the berries and bam.

Stegos are the new turtles. Worth finding a high lvl M & F. Need a few sarco (or 50) for kibble, but then pow! You've got yourself a bullet sponge that protects the rider from turrets. Magnifine glass will be your best friend to find the right ones to breed.

Just a little tip.

It is hard for them to fit through regular Dino gates when they are following you. You might have to ride them to get them through.

A super overpowered soaker. With a good saddle and imprint, and mate boost, and yuty buff, this thing is a tank. Can easily soak anything, with its hardened plate, and you can’t be shot off the back of it, meaning you can push up to a death wall with one and put c4 on the wall whilst your stego is soaking and blocking any damage to you. Very amazing soakers, definitely recommend getting them for PvP

Stegos, while they may be a little more wimpy than they seem during an encounter, they can hold their own against predators(there’s a reason they can deal damage to the T-Rex in a scrimmage), and they cover a very broad area around the back and side, where most dinos fail to protect themselves, making them a good adventuring help despite their speed and stamina drain.

Bruh, how am I defeating mid-late game must-be-tamed-creatures with a stego, HOW. EXACTLY?!.

Get Trang arrows and find one and shoot it went you nock it out feed it like that I got my stego

I just got on top of my stone base and shot it till it was knocked out. On extinction

Use rockarrot it goes so much faster

It did happen with a low level stego and a low level pachy but i knocked it out in one pachy ram. It was a very easy tame that way.

The new update today makes them a creature worth taming. Same with the mammoth.
