Ultimus: Chapter Three: The Only Way
A few hours after dinner, Kim and Hunter were talking in the living room while Andrew and his puppy were in his bedroom. Kim sat in a chair and told Hunter about the message she got from the Terran Federation and that she was required to relocate to Arat Prime. Hunter was livid that they were doing this.
“They can’t do this! What about your research?” Hunter said in anger yet in a quiet tone. He paced in front of her in the center of the room.
“My research is almost complete here honey. They also said that they have had better results with other research and would rather have me on their Genetic Engineering team for it.” Kim said,
“What other research?” Hunter asked in a surprised tone, Kim looked up at him and shrugged. It took a moment for him to realize what she was implying. When he did, his eyes bulged and his mouth dropped open.
“Our research isn’t conclusive nor are we sure that it would work whatsoever in the real world. Plus the Simulation is nowhere to be considered a fraction of being complete.” Hunter said.
“They don’t care, they see more success in your test results than the idea of using ordinary animals. They believe in it enough that they are having a project meeting with the URE about it. Plus it isn’t just that research they want, they want your Universal Translator program. They're inclined to believe it’ll be a good thing to have for future uses from tests.” Kim said,
“I can’t believe this. They see my team’s research projects as the future work for the Genesis project and the URE’s project? It’s absurd.”
“Honey, it may be absurd, but it looks like they are the future for these projects.” Kim said, Hunter finally sat down. He was amazed at the accomplishment he made. He was jittering from the excitement. But a question immediately brought him back.
“So we have to go to Arat Prime?” Hunter asked,
“We have no option.” Kim said.
“What are we going to do with Andrew?” Hunter said, “You know the plan for the URE and the Terran Federation. We already know what they did with da Costa, and they plan to do it with everyone. It’s why we moved away from Arat Prime and why we were grateful they stationed you here. We didn’t want them to do that to our son.” He continued.
“Well we can’t run for it as fugitives, they’d just arrest us and make us work as prisoners of the state. We can’t go to the URE because they have the same plan. That leaves us with one option, we let them do it to him.” Kim said,
“What are you talking about? That’s g-.”
“You didn’t let me finish, we let them do it. Just not for a very long time.” Kim said.
“I’m not following?” Hunter said in confusion.
“Let me explain…” Kim said, she explained her plan for Andrew to avoid the Terran Federation to Hunter. He didn’t know what to think of her plan.
“I… don’t know. Give me some time to think about it.” Hunter said feeling at a loss,
“Alright, but we don’t have much left honey.” Kim said with a soft smile, this hurt her just as much as it hurt Hunter. But Hunter wasn’t as reasonable or logical when it came to his family.
He walked down the hallway to Andrew’s room. The dog looked up from its bed in the corner of the room and set its head back down after recognizing who it was. Andrew was asleep in his bed with some sort of very old monster movie on his TV. Hunter watched the movie for a bit but wasn’t paying attention to it. He didn’t like Kim’s idea, it split their family and he never wanted that to happen. He looked at his son sleeping, he was so peaceful.
Hunter would do anything to keep his family safe, even sacrificing himself to do so. But would he do this? Would he split up his family to save his son? He knew the answer to that. And as much as he hated it, Kim’s plan was the only option.

Journey Chapter 28
Forest couldn’t believe what was happening, a creature name Methuselah confronted them. It made him wonder if his dream wasn’t really a message from Peeri left in his mind.
“You aren’t from around here? Are you?” Methuselah asked, directing it to Forest.
“No scratch that, us three aren’t from around here! And why aren’t you trying to kill us?” Nightfall exclaimed nervously.
Forest stared at Methuselah for a moment, and noticed something about him. He had leather straps around his waist.
“You are a feral? Aren’t you?” Forest asked. “For a long time now. I’ll answer yours more in depth in a moment though. To answer your question Mr. Troodon. I don’t find killing creatures who look to be lost or not in the right place a good thing to do. Now if it were just you and the Kapro. I might’ve, but a Rock Drake is definitely not something from around here.” He said, he then turned to Forest. “To answer yours properly now drake. I was born here to a tribe that had took my mother and father. I was never claimed by them however as a Rex attacked the tribe as I was born, I only met my parents for a few minutes before I ran away and found myself in this place. The endless dunes.” Methuselah said, “I wandered the desert for many days before I came across a lovely reptile. She was very nice and showed me hospitality by adopting me into her family. I became good friends with her son and he still treats me as though I am a brother when I see. But after some time being I went out on my own and started a family. But it wasn’t long before I was found by a tribe and saddled for them. But they died out a long time ago and I remained. Now I ask questions, who are you three?” Methuselah continued.
“Oh well the featherhead is my friend Forest, and the Troodon that looks like a snack is Nightfall and I’m Crimson.” Crimson said.
Forest giggled and smiled at Nightfall and he saw Nightfall was glaring at her. “Now how are you suppose to help us? Or are you an absolute waste of our time.” Crimson said. Methuselah laughed.
“My you are a feisty one. You remind me of my daughter.” He said smiling. Before it smile disappeared. Crimson looked back at Forest like he might know what this means. Forest shrugged having no clue.
“Well can you help us?” Crimson said,
“I don’t know, you haven’t told me how I am suppose to help. But before you do. I have another question for you Crimson. How did you become friends with a rock drake? I have never seen one naturally around here.” Methuselah asked.
“Well that’s a REALLY long story, one that II really don’t want to tell right now. But as the feather duster said, we aren’t from here.” Crimson said. Nightfall stared her down for a moment as she said this.
“But I will say to you though that we were looking for you without knowing it was you in particular. And we are hoping that you might know a way out of this place?” Forest asked.
“How would you know to look for me if you didn’t know who I was?” Methuselah asked, “Well, it’s apart of that long story that I’ll tell you about later.” Forest said. “Well it better be soon, because I’m getting really confused with how this is going.” Methuselah said.
“So do you know a way we might be able to get out of here?” Forest asked again.
“Oh right, I don’t, the only way I know is the tamed way through the obelisks” Methuselah said slowing down as he spoke. Like he remembered something important. “But I might know some creatures that might. If you would like, I could take you all there if you don’t mind trusting this stranger. It’s a day and a half to two day trip through the dunes so it would be a long trip for you guys to be on without someone who can keep you guys safe.” Methuselah continued.
Forest looked at Nightfall and Crimson, Crimson looked Crimson about it so she might be alright doing this, Nightfall looked at Methuselah suspiciously.
“Are these creatures Troodons?” Nightfall asked suspiciously.
“Definitely not, I don’t trust them because of their blind biting behavior at night. But I will take it on a limb and trust you. But these creatures are nowhere near to be Troodons.” Methuselah said.
“Okay then I am in.” Nightfall said.
“It’s not just your decision Nightfall, it’s Forest’s decision as it wasn’t for him. You and me wouldn’t be here.” Crimson said.
Forest thought for a moment, he didn’t know what else to do except follow what his dream said. “Okay, let’s do it.” Forest said,
“Alright then, get on my back. I’ll take you to where we are going.” Methuselah said.
The Extinction
Chapter one
-Belladonna-
"OPEN THE GATES!"
The bellow came from outside thick, stone walls. Two guards grasped levers and shoved them down, causing the gate to come up. Three equus galloped in, making indents on the snowy ground.
On top of the lead equus was a huge, muscular woman. Her skin was as bright white as the snow beneath her, and as pale. She has a wide, broad face, scars slashing along her cheeks. Although her skin was old and ragged, her expression was hard as stone, revealing nothing about her personality. Her hair was light grey, indicating old age. In the back, two almost identical men sat expressionless.
They slowed to a halt. The riders dismounted, walking in their separate directions. The woman ran over to a small child, possibly seven or eight years. She looked like the woman, and was big for her age, with large emerald eyes and black hair. She wore fur clothing like the rest of the tribe. She looked masculine, with her short hair and tough muscles. The woman greeted her with a smile. "Belladonna! How was your day?" she asked, crouching down to look at her.
"It was GREAT!" Belladonna squeaked, jumping up and down. "I shot my bow and killed a dilophosaur all by myself and I skinned it and I took its crest and I put it on a table at home!" She beamed at the woman.
"That's good." The woman responded, standing up. With a more stern face, she turned her head to a black man standing nearby. "Retrieve Sol, Larkspur."
"Yes, Nightshade." Larkspur dipped his head respectfully and ran over to the equus Nightshade was riding, digging around carefully in its pouch. He grabbed something, and took it out. Trying not to harm the ball, he walked over to Nightshade and handed her the item.
Belladonna looked at the strange thing. It was HUGE, about three-quarters the size of her. It was shaped like the dodo eggs Nightshade would cook for her, but much larger. It was a vibrant shade of red, and had a tough layer of scales on its shell.
Nightshade grasped the egg, obviously it was very heavy if even she had trouble holding it. She bent down to Belladonna, showing her the object.
"This is for you. Belladonna. A spinosaurus egg," Nightshade said, "we saw the way you looked at spinosaurs; wether it be drawings or actual ones. This egg's name is Sol. Sol will be your primary tame, you will raise it with care. But be careful, spinosaurs are dangerous creatures that require a lot of care and responsibility. You will struggle, but trust me, the reward will be worth it."
The first time I played ark... my first thatch house... I hade a para and 5 dilos and 3 dodos, I was proud back when I was a noob, I collected eggs killd trikes and gave them food. Till one day THERE WAS A SPINO ON THE BEACH 12FT AWAY FROM MY HOUSE! I was terrified, noob me didn't know what to do, I could call my dinos and make them come and make spino aggro, ore I could leave for my own sake. Deciding took to long and by then the spino killd all my tames. I was frustrated, I swore revenge on that spino( I forgot about it for a while)... I was level 47 I felt very good, I hade tames and great weapons. I went back to my first house to place a tumb stone till I saw that mean spino! I was done, they day hade come, i got all my resources and lookt up spino traps I found 1 and built it, i baited him in the trap he fell for it and I knocked him out. I tamed him and he now guards the base(Thx for youre time, im sorry if there are grammar mistakes, my autocoretion is rlly anoying!)
I am a noob player just started 5 days ago, found this game and was mesmerized. Playing single player, cos i love my sanity.
1st day.I spawned on a strip of beach on south 1. I was slowly getting a hang of it. Didn't have any tames. I was just collecting wood . When an alert appeared that i am in a dangerous territory. I look behind me and there is a spino, red and white, my favorite color combinations. I was awning at its beauty as it slaughtered me.
I respawned and watched it, from far away as it slowly went back into the sea. From that day on i want a spino, i came into this game for a rex, i loved this spino.
And saw it today , i was riding my ichthyosaurus and i saw him again. He lives right next to my beach. Its like he was made for me , can't wait to tame him and i will update here.

The Riddles of The Phoenixes Series
Chapter fifteen: Gone.
“WHAT?!?!” Cyra roared, angrily. “WHAT DO YOU MEAN MY SON IS GONE?!?!” All the people in the room cowered at the angry mother. Even Nora. “All the students, teachers, and servants were transported as well. Not just your son.” Nora said calmly.
“I know!! Where are they?!?! Is there any evidence of where they are?! Are we sure this isn’t a prank?!” Cyra demanded. Nora shook her head. “No. Everyone in the school is gone, including William.” Nora had been away from the school when it happened. Jack squeezed his wife’s hand.
She was breathing heavily. Her eyes narrowed with worry and she pursed her lips. “We have to find my son!” She said desperately. “We will. We’ve contacted the other kingdom queen and kings. They’re on their way. We’ve also received a threat report from the people who made them disappear. They’re demanding that all the phoenixes turn themselves in and they’ll release the students.” Nora said.
Cyra bit her lip. Jack hugged her to him protectively and kissed her on the forehead. “Don’t worry. We’ll get them back.” Jack whispered in her ear. Cyra buried her face in his shoulder. She hoped so.
Water dripped from the ceiling of the small dark dingy cave. He wasn’t meant to survive on this island, too old in his opinion. He scooted along the cold cave floor, and lifted his face to drink some of the dripping fresh water.
It was his only thing to drink or eat. “Too old to do this…why must youngsters continue to seek war? Gosh, we all should be able to live happily ever after, right?” He croaked wearily. He scratched at his wrist.
Red gashes ran across his white shirt and the scars ran deep and he winced as he scooted on all fours. “Evil raptors..” He muttered. “If only Nora was here..” William constantly found himself talking aloud to provide some sound to the silence.
He rested his head against the wall and wrapped his fingers around the black locket around his neck. William breathed in deeply and closed his eyes. “War. If only people would stop making it…I’m so tired…I don’t know how much longer I can hold on, Nora.”
