Journey Chapter 28

Forest couldn’t believe what was happening, a creature name Methuselah confronted them. It made him wonder if his dream wasn’t really a message from Peeri left in his mind.

“You aren’t from around here? Are you?” Methuselah asked, directing it to Forest.

“No scratch that, us three aren’t from around here! And why aren’t you trying to kill us?” Nightfall exclaimed nervously.

Forest stared at Methuselah for a moment, and noticed something about him. He had leather straps around his waist.

“You are a feral? Aren’t you?” Forest asked. “For a long time now. I’ll answer yours more in depth in a moment though. To answer your question Mr. Troodon. I don’t find killing creatures who look to be lost or not in the right place a good thing to do. Now if it were just you and the Kapro. I might’ve, but a Rock Drake is definitely not something from around here.” He said, he then turned to Forest. “To answer yours properly now drake. I was born here to a tribe that had took my mother and father. I was never claimed by them however as a Rex attacked the tribe as I was born, I only met my parents for a few minutes before I ran away and found myself in this place. The endless dunes.” Methuselah said, “I wandered the desert for many days before I came across a lovely reptile. She was very nice and showed me hospitality by adopting me into her family. I became good friends with her son and he still treats me as though I am a brother when I see. But after some time being I went out on my own and started a family. But it wasn’t long before I was found by a tribe and saddled for them. But they died out a long time ago and I remained. Now I ask questions, who are you three?” Methuselah continued.

“Oh well the featherhead is my friend Forest, and the Troodon that looks like a snack is Nightfall and I’m Crimson.” Crimson said.

Forest giggled and smiled at Nightfall and he saw Nightfall was glaring at her. “Now how are you suppose to help us? Or are you an absolute waste of our time.” Crimson said. Methuselah laughed.

“My you are a feisty one. You remind me of my daughter.” He said smiling. Before it smile disappeared. Crimson looked back at Forest like he might know what this means. Forest shrugged having no clue.

“Well can you help us?” Crimson said,

“I don’t know, you haven’t told me how I am suppose to help. But before you do. I have another question for you Crimson. How did you become friends with a rock drake? I have never seen one naturally around here.” Methuselah asked.

“Well that’s a REALLY long story, one that II really don’t want to tell right now. But as the feather duster said, we aren’t from here.” Crimson said. Nightfall stared her down for a moment as she said this.

“But I will say to you though that we were looking for you without knowing it was you in particular. And we are hoping that you might know a way out of this place?” Forest asked.

“How would you know to look for me if you didn’t know who I was?” Methuselah asked, “Well, it’s apart of that long story that I’ll tell you about later.” Forest said. “Well it better be soon, because I’m getting really confused with how this is going.” Methuselah said.

“So do you know a way we might be able to get out of here?” Forest asked again.

“Oh right, I don’t, the only way I know is the tamed way through the obelisks” Methuselah said slowing down as he spoke. Like he remembered something important. “But I might know some creatures that might. If you would like, I could take you all there if you don’t mind trusting this stranger. It’s a day and a half to two day trip through the dunes so it would be a long trip for you guys to be on without someone who can keep you guys safe.” Methuselah continued.

Forest looked at Nightfall and Crimson, Crimson looked Crimson about it so she might be alright doing this, Nightfall looked at Methuselah suspiciously.

“Are these creatures Troodons?” Nightfall asked suspiciously.

“Definitely not, I don’t trust them because of their blind biting behavior at night. But I will take it on a limb and trust you. But these creatures are nowhere near to be Troodons.” Methuselah said.

“Okay then I am in.” Nightfall said.

“It’s not just your decision Nightfall, it’s Forest’s decision as it wasn’t for him. You and me wouldn’t be here.” Crimson said.

Forest thought for a moment, he didn’t know what else to do except follow what his dream said. “Okay, let’s do it.” Forest said,

“Alright then, get on my back. I’ll take you to where we are going.” Methuselah said.
