Tips & Strategies
These are stronger than the rex, and tame one of these beasts instead of some old rex. 1. they get an underwater buff when up to mid body in the water and farther. 2. on two legs their attacks are faster and stronger then a rexes but they walk slower, and on four legs they are faster, but not as strong. If a tamed one is following you, they will do this automatically, when riding you must do it on your own. 3. They're easier to tame then a rex! So if you're debating on taming one of these bad boys, or the infamous rex, choose this dude. These beasts need more recongition.
How to Tame: first get a saddle lvl 71 or tame for fun doesn’t matter second get a longneck lvl 35 and 150 tranq darts lvl 62 and narcotics lvl 6 third get a crossbow lvl 25 and a grappling hook lvl 47 fourth find a spino get on a ledge with your grapple then shoot it and keep shooting if it runs away follow it and keep shooting until it’s knocked out put your taming food in and bam💥 spino tamed😎😎😎 sorry if spelling is incorrect I’m Asian 😶😶
If you are having a hard time finding spino's in their respective spawn zones (especially Ragnarok), kill all the fish in that area. They share the same spawn capacity and can be out spawned by coles!
Let me settle an argument about Rex vs spino
First, for overall supreme goodness as a giant carnivore, spino comes on top. First, it can change stance. 4 legs means huge turn radius, but in that stance it outruns everything. I ran down gallis and pts, trust me. In 2 legs mode, the spino has an unrivaled DPS and also turns ON SPOT, getting rid of annoying dimorphs. If that wasn’t enough, the spino has low stam consumption, and can even recover it in water.
But Rexes have advantages too. First, it has almost twice the health of the same level spino. Also, Rex spawns are bigger. That means that high levels are easiER to find. Easier, that means comparably. Like for example 8 hours for a 120+ Rex and eternity for a 120+ spino. Rexes are cooler, and they are easier to tame, with low torpor rates and usually no narc wasted. They are generally much better boss Dinos, but unridden spinos only use 4 leg mode, which makes them squishy.
Conclusion: Rexes for army and bosses, spino for mount and overall goody creature. Both are good, and please, PLEASE try out both, along with hundreds of others of unappreciated carnivores along with the spino.
So, I’m level forty in the new game I just started, and I found a lvl 145 by my base and knew I needed to tame it. I used six stone Dino gates and got it trapped by leading it on my lvl 125 pteranodon. The freaking spino kills my flyer and I presume to tranq it. Dododex says only 53 tranqs for a level 145, but it took me close to 65… no misses. My crossbow legit broke on the last shot. Being a low level, I couldn’t really get my hands on prime meat, so I’m camped out next to this spino with my trike, feeding it hundreds of biotoxin and narcs as it slowly eats the fish meat I got ahold of. I’ve got a long three and a half hours ahead.

Spinos are really, REALLY, good. First, these things can switch between standing on 2 legs(allowing them to turn on the spot, and deal more damage, but be slower, even outdamaging a rex on 2 legs) and 4 legged mode(where they will do leas damage, but be way faster, and have a huge turning radios) you cannot use the 2 legged mode underwater, only on land, underwater u can only be with 4 legged mode. If a spino enteres water(a river, lake, inside an ocean, and so on) it will get a damage buff, health regen buff, and speed buf, making it a lot stronger. The buff is permanent as long as u at least touch the water, and lasts 30 seconds outside of it. The spino is very good at traveling, as most aggresive dinos(raptors, carnos, and so on) will become neutral towards you. The spino also has great speed on all 4, is quite slow on 2 legs, and is even faster with the water buff. It is also extremely powerful.mode. It also attacks faster than a rex. The spino also harvests a ton of meat and hide.
If you hear your mobile ring and you misplaced it.. run like hell because a spino is staring down at you.. right now..
A good way to get it unconscious without a flying dinosaur is by making 10 stone pillars, 10 wooden ladders then climbing up the pillars and shoot it with tranq darts or arrows, it can't break stone fast so ur safe. Pls don't use less than 10 pillars, I tried and I got pushed of the pillar and just died:( Sorry for my bad English. Hope this helped
Why tame either a Rex or Spino… when you can take both? 😏
If you tame a 30-40 early game along with tame bonus you can kill most anything in your way.
Okay, so, I know there’s this thing about how rexes are better than spinos and vice versa, but the spino is superior. It’s faster, stamina lasts longer, and its dps is insane. Not to mention that it has a hydration buff that makes it even more powerful. They’re loose cannons, which is why they die in the wild a lot: they kill EVERYTHING in sight and then they get killed due to the enormous amount of angry dinos chasing them(the spino is faster, but it usually gets cornered against a cliff). They also have two speeds that each come with their own attack… that’s pretty rad. Literally the only downside is their hp. Just upgrade hp to a safe level. Against the Rex, their damage output is way higher. The only thing they don’t match is hit points, but like I said just upgrade hp if it’s a tame, and you have a vicious killing machine. These are a must tame .Hope you enjoyed, even if it was long.😂
Love&Power here… I got that spino.😎 she’s level 210, and an absolute beast. Early game made easy.
Want to tame a super dimetrodon? Read on! Before we get to it, you're gonna want to prepare these things:
DIFFICULTY:
5/ 10: Intermediate
WHAT YOU WILL WANT:
-Taming weapon and ammo (Bow (Tranq arrows), Crossbow (Tranq arrows), Longneck rifle (Tranq/ Shocking tranq darts)
-Taming food (Meat (I prefer raw over fish) / Mutton, Kibble)
-Biotoxin/ Narcotics
Now that you have what you need, let's get taming!
For this dino, there are 2 methods (Honest). Here they are:
METHOD 1: The Trap
The usual. 2x2 stone trap (4 stone floors, 16 stone walls and 4-6 ramps), cost efficient and simple. Lead the spino into the trap and tranq it down. When taming, make sure to watch its torpor as it drains quite fast!
METHOD 2: Trapless
Very easy to perform. Find a spino and tranq it down, and chase it when it runs (Do note the spino is EXTREMELY fast). Also clear the area of nasties (I lost my spino to a Therizino), they like to aggro on everything. Now repeat the taming process and welcome your new spino to your family!
Now, onto the features of the Spino:
UTILITIES:
Spinos are glass cannons, typically having lesser health but more damage than a Rex. They have 2 stances -- The 4-legged and 2-legged stances. The 4-legged stance has a high attack rate but lesser damage, and vice versa for the 2-legged stance. They also have a Hydrophobic Boost, which boosts their stats when they enter a body of water. This increases their movement speed, damage and damage resistance.
That's pretty much it for the Spino! Thanks for your time and check out my other tips!

-Your average ARK Mobile player ;)
They’re stronger than the T-Rex, and easier to tame, what else can I say? Also I found one near my base, so I made a crossbow and some narcotic and tamed it easily! …… then I died her pink with potent dust
Find one, wait for it to agro on something, shoot it with your 200 plus damage crossbow 5 times, you have a super rex
Their babies are insanely strong. I breeded my lv 40 and the baby was even stronger then both of them combined! I definitely recommend breeding these guys. Also. Now I can take on that stupid alpha Rex. Don’t worry. I fully imprinted this little guy just like all my other ones. Every one ☝️ is one strength for my baby spino
I just knocked out a 140 spino
It's terrifying
