Another good way to tame a spino is to bring a lot narcotics, 20 exceptional kibble (To tame more if needed), and a flying tame that you can shoot off of(I use wyvs), I'm not sure how many tranq darts but bring 100 to 200, from there on you will be ready, I hope it works for you!

How to tame a Spinosaurus easily:-

S1: To find a Spinosaurus, go to rivers (mainly the rivers near the Redwoods).

S2: Options:-

1 Clear out the area if you think anything could trouble you while taming it and if you have a quick mount, knock it out that way.

2 Or build atleast pillars which are 12-14 times higher and knock it out that way.

3 If both of them are risky, build 15-20 fence foundations and stone walls of atleast 3-4 times high and finally finish it with ramps and knock it out with that way.

S3: Knock it out with either tranquilizer darts and a long rifle or tranq arrows and a crossbow.

S4: Feed it Argentavis Kibble (Old ARK Mobile only), Exceptional Kibble, Raw prime fish meat or Raw fish meat.

S5: You have a Spinosaurus :D

Facts:-

F1: It's saddle unlocks on lvl 71.

F2: It is quite quick in water as well as land.

F3: It also has an untameable version in Extinction which is Corrupted Spinosaurus.

F4: When in water, it has a Hydrated buff which increases it's damage and resistance.

Two ways to tame spino (especially on aberration)

Make a basic stone trap, 3x3 or 3x4 foundation, at least 3 door frames high and a wooden ramp.

Aggro him and run him up ramp

Make a bed near by if not fast enough

(I have 190% movement speed on official for reference so you might need to be close to trap to run him in)

Then knock him out, cryo him or demo door frames and enjoy your spino!

Another way to do it is(but not as reusable) is 3-4 stone dino gates and a bear trap.

For 3 gates, position the first two in kind of a wide triangle, put the bear trap right between them, run spino in and trap him in with last gate

For 4 gates, position them in a square, put bear trap, run spino in and trap him in with last gate

I am here to unite the two factions on war since time immemorial: The Rex faction and The Spino faction...

First of all, yes everyone has their on opinion but this is MY opinion so without further ado...

I dont believe in "Rex are better than Spinos" thing

Because in certain scenarios the Spino is IN FACT better than The Rex for example: When Fighting in an area with water a spino can excel in combat with higher attack speed and damage when it has the wet buff and when brutally injured can run fast and swim fast.

But the rex on the other hand has higher health and stamina which means it can tank most damage than the spino can and endure longer runs than the spino but lacking the speed.

In conclusion...

They are both GREAT. Get both of them..

I have a Spino (Riptide) and a Rex (Megabyte) both of them are equally leveled and powerful

I will be pasting this on the Rex side aswell..

You dont need an flyer you only need to be prepared you 20-30 Tranq arrows and like 20-30 bio toxins the narcotics are not forced to use and you dont need to trap it if is a low level

Who said you need trap for these boys?

First, get tranq darts and biotoxin (their torpor sucks). Then, get a Tapejara/ Raptor/ Equus so you can shot while you are on the saddle. They will run away after you shoot them some times so chase them. One knocked it out make sure to check on the torpor level so you don't lose it. Then, name it Pookie.

You don't need traps if you are fast and more intelligent than them🍷

I was taming a spino but then the bad thing is after I brought 258 narcotics and 57 prime meat and 190 raw meat then I put I on the spino then it got nighttime then I went back in to my house with my argy after I woke up I came back to it the worst problem was an another spino was nearby I tryed to kill it but it's on max lvl-300 so that's why you must put those spike walls thingys around it

Fast movement speed, fast stamina regeneration, gets a buff when you enter water that increases speed. Great for meat running. In my experience the ability to “quickly” get a lot of kills outweighs the extra meat gathering a Rex or giga can give you. The ability to swim fast and gather a lot of fish meat also gives you more meat options. Stand on two legs to gather more meat, as it is a spino’s stronger attack. I would like to get more people on board for tek spino awareness! This is the Best PVE utility carnivore that’s underrated, they also changed the eggs, so they are only good for superior kibble now; but they require exceptional kibble to tame so you need a Rex or giga for eggs I guess... -Bestek

Basically your rexes for abberation

A must have in the Aberration DLC. They will help out a ton in the Fertile, Bio-luminescent, and the Hazard zone and they are much easier to tame than the Karkinos.

These guys are SAVAGE!! I saw one slap a dimorph out of the sky

I usually see like 47 of these guys strolling around the beach slapping everyone, so uhh… just grab a ramshackle crossbow with toxicants in and try not to get slapped yourself.

I bred and fully imprinted a lv120 called River King (son of spino richie😂) and he has 200% movement speed. Couple this with the boost from running through water and he is the perfect tame for patrolling beaches and rivers, imagine a land tame that can keep up with a ptreadon he's stupidly fast and can dominate both on land and sea

These guys (in my opinion) are better than Rex’s in every way because they can run faster on four legs, attack faster on two legs, they have a buff while standing in water BUT they’re not perfect for example they lay superior eggs and if you’re using them for bosses they prefer to attack on four legs so they do less dps than a Rex so I would only recommend for bosses if there is water in the arena

Your Ark Guide; Noobs and Pros: Spinosaurus.

====================SPINOSAURUS======================

Encountering: Spinosaurus aquarliga is a dangerous creature, almost more dangerous than a rex. If you encounter one on the wild and you are unarmed, or you have just started the game, I suggest you run. If you just started and are planning on making your base near a spino, find a new area to build your base. If you are unarmed, avoid the the spino and run away. Spinos also have an ability to change from four legs to two legs. On two legs, they're taller and have stronger attacks, but slower. On four legs, They're faster and smaller, but have weaker attacks. They're also territorial, not aggresive.

Killing: To kill a spino, get a longneck rifle or long range weapon, (reccomending assault rifle or longneck rifle) and stand on a tall, steep cliff. Hit the spino and it will run up the cliff, but eventully get stuck. Keep hitting it until it's dead. If you want more meat, harvest with a metal pick. If you want more hide, harvest with a metal hatchet.

Taming: I reccomend looking for a leed with an icthy, but if none are availible, use 100 narcotic and 21 bio toxin for a lvl 9. Bring around 40 fish meat, too. If you can, use a longneck rifle with tranq darts, but if that's not avalible, use a bow with tranq arrows. Get up on a high cliff and hit it once. Once it notices you, it should run up and get stuck. It may bite, or slash, but it doesn't matter. It can't hit you. Once it's high on torpor, if you are in focus, go out of focus, so you can run after it. Keep hitting it, when it starts to run away it's high on torpor, so it'll be down in around 3 hits, for a lvl 9. Note: Don't knock it out in water, they DO have an oxygen stat. Once it's unconsious, if you're taming it with prime fish meat, it'll tame quickly. If you're taming it with bio toxin and narcotic and reg fish, it's longer. Give it the fish meat, and once it goes an 8th of the way down, feed it 6 narcotic and one bio toxin. Repeat until it's tamed.

Uses: Spino's are great battle creatures, and in my opinion, are better than rexes. Their quadruped and biped stances are great for battle. Owning two is great for bringing down creatures, and can demolish alpha raptors. Also, when bringing out spino's for battle, you may notice trike's will glow red. They do this whenever there is a spino or rex in the area, even if the spino or rex is tamed. I'm not sure if tamed trikes do this with tamed spinos and wild spinos. Spino's are great for bringing down brontos, too. Spino's do get an underwater buff when their in water up to mid body and higher. It lasts 30 seconds out of water.

I use for scaring of beach bobs because I remember being a noob and getting killed 24/7 so I killed all my enemies with this thing

I've seen alot of people actually seeing these in the spawn area too (or near them)

As you always ahould be, just carry a bunch of tranq darts with you and climb a high enough rock, then you can put it to sleep easily.

To go bipedal on mobile it's the same as secondary attack which is swipe up on left side of screen, that's secondary attack for all dinos that have a secondary attack.

To tame a spino you should have around 100 tranq arrows and 120 narcotic for a level 140.

All you need is a good bow (I used ascendant)and tranq arrows,find a low spino level and shoot it.I managed to tame one at level 25 (fyi I’m on easy mode on different modes do this at your own peril)
