If you want to tame a spino here are the steps I took to taming it

1Find it's territory:spino's have a territory to themselves this can help you observe it from a distance

2Get on a cliff or high place the spino can't reach you and shoot it(carry ALOT of tranqs if your gonna try tame this)

3They are extremely fast so when they start running you might wanna try snipping it from a distance as closing the distance will be extremely difficult

4Make sure you have enough narcotics and meat to tame it

Bonus tip:if you want you can use narcotic tripwire traps or dinosaurs like pachy or basilisk to speed up knocking it out

So I was on my Therizinosaur on ark mobile and then I saw these while going home. I was like “Oh yeah that’s free XP and Levels for my Theri” and attacked one. I didn’t realize that it was Lvl 100+. It ripped a chunk of my theri’s health, but I killed it and survived. I saw another one, and I was like, “Oh yeah that’s another level there” and tried to kill it. I killed it, but my Therizino was below one thousand. There was one last one, and I took the risk. Boom! Now below 700, with Raptors attacking me. My therizino had a penny of health now. Moral: Don’t take risks with these guys.

It's quite hard to tame of these bad boys, unless you know how to do it. Spinos get distracted EXTREMELY easily, even a coel will make them stop chasing you, so by FAR the best way to tame them is to trap them. Use 3x3 stone foundations. then build 12 doorframes on each side as walls, and put a ramp big enough for the spino to walk on. You know, the classic trap. Kite them into it(the have a big turning raidos on all 4, so take note of it) and then trap them. They are quite fast so use something fast too, like an argy or ptero. Then, once trapped, knock em out with tranq darts, and give them exceptional (or argy kibble on mobile) kibble, if u can't get that use raw prime fish meat. Once tamed (it will take a while, get at least 300 narcos, even if ur using kibble) and once tamed, slap a saddle on it and ur good to go!

I just build a trap close by a spino if i see one and its high level then trap it and tame it . DONE

This son of a carnivore killed my Pachy and my iguadon.. I didn’t even tame him yet and the fricken spino came after me the second after.

dude it's so easy to tame these powerful dinos just get on a cliff or high rocks where they can hit u then tranq arrow their faces I did it in no time if u want turn up the tame right so u dont wait hours taming lol I used narcotics and bio toxic and I am pretty new at the game try to get low level ones bc it's easier and u can level it up overtime by killing low stuff plus at decent levels ot can take out t rex no problem

People don’t like that the Spino has an oxygen stat, but that’s a good thing. You’ll be able to increase it, not only to keep it under underwater for longer, but to make it swim faster as well. A Spino with a high oxygen stat will tread through the water super quick.

If you are trying to tame a Spinosaurus and you can’t do don’t want to build a trap try using green obelisk it worked well for me. But of course when I do it I hit my level 120 right after it goes down

I knocked one out and I went to my base to get the kibble when I came back the spino was gone I knocked it out near a mountain so it could be easy to find but it was gone any tips on why that happens?

Best way I think is to trap them in a box,make sure that the walls are at least 3 high because they will climb out!!also loads of narcotics or narcoberries,they lose torpor almost as fast as Dimetrodons.

Don't forget the swim up when getting off in deep water

Shoot it with tranquilizar darts

Once it gets knocked out you can feed it raw prime fish meat or normal fish meat:

On mobile, when I was new and low level but wanted to tame spinos - I used to bring in some life bait to the spinos to distract it from attacking me (tamed carbos and parasaurs with high health, around 800 or 1200) or let it aggro a wild Dino for a bit, and when it focuses on the Dino bait, I hop to a safe distance and tranq it until it was knocked out. It took me at least 10-30 tranq arrows.

I just give it raw fish, and when taming it took too much time and the torpor bar starts draining fast I give it some narcotics or bio toxin I get from killing nearby cnidarias (at least 60 narcotics or 30+ bio toxins) then just wait.

Kept doing it until I have like 4 spinos run after runs.

The spinos often spawn on the coasts and beaches in the footpaw region which is where I usually found them. Sometimes they do spawn in the river near the volcano and the waterfall and rivers in the redwood forest.

It can get to prey on four legs very fast, then kill prey on 2 legs, also very fast.

The best thing to find one is flying over the river randomly. if you found one make sure he cant hit you (go on a boulder or on a cliff) and shoot at him with tranq arrows. If he is unconsious just put prime or normal meat in him and make sure you have enough narcotic (i tamed a level 50 first and it needed about 200) and if you are escorting him into your base do NOT attack any strong dinos he cant handle it if its a level 100 or less spino that does not mean its weak but you have to level him a bit before killing strong dinos (the spino level 50 got 22 level with the taming bonus and he died at escorting him to my base from a therizino btw that was 30 mins ago now im mad at this game, it was my first spino)

Cool new way to regen a Dino’s health if it wakes up!- so I was taming a max spino on rag and it woke up as I was getting prime :p. So because I used my horse it’s health was to annoyingly too low to knock out again and this thought came to mind, will it regen faster if I give it a corpse? Keep in mind this spino had 3200 max health and was only at 300. I killed a Barry and it amazingly regenerated all its health! Now, idk if this works with other corpses so try it out!
