ive only played since 2020 and now there isn’t much time to cherish ark 1 before it loses its popularity, ive found is place a foundation near the water then a roof going deeper into the water. place fish baskets on the roof make sure you have lots. then have a aggravated fish follow you next to the settled baskets (30s after placement it’s settled so it can instantly catch a nearby fish.

The worst taming method and worst Ai in the whole game. Spending days to get ONE with every method tried, damn passive taming, damn fish, damn ocean reeking cat.

BTW if u wake them while sleeping(forgetting to crouch walk) it will reset the taming process to 0

You don't need Ghillie necessarily. You can wear the federation tech armor and use net projectiles to pin it in place. Just sneak up behind it, feed it a basket, immediately net it and then fly up using jet pack and get safety. Now wait for it to fall asleep again and repeat until tamed.

So there's a really easy way to tame them make for foundations and then make two to four walls high on all sides then came a couple go find the shadow man you want to pick it up slowly bring it back to where the trap is and drop it in there. Since it has no place to run away and since it's in a small space it's going to be angry at Levi grow or hit it with a netgun it will reset it once upon a time it will start to do it's sleeping animation you can go up to it and you feed a fish even when it's invisible it will prompt it can still feed it a fish you can do that multiple times and payment it's the easiest and fastest way to do it instead of spending 3 to 4 hours to me one of these it will take 15 to 20 minutes

Fungal wood is easily obtained through the weird alien ball trees where the Shadomanes spawn. Craft up a bunch of those, check out my favorite method to catching

Sanguine elixirs DO work on passive tames like these. You just have to give it its first feed and when it's ready for the next, "eat" an elixir and BOOM 30% extra! Arrow this to the sky!

Build a tiny structure using 4 stone structures , 2 walls high all around and ramp on one side. Have shadowmane aggro on you lead it into trap. Wait until it sleep then feed it fish in crouch position no gilly suit needed until finish taming . You can set tame tracking so when it goes invisible inside trap you know which direction to approach it while in trap.

Once you catch fish in basket destroy basket in water then cryo the fish and have a cryp fridge full , dedicated to taming tons of shadowmanes.

Y'all might need two or three maewings (for the basket) once u feed it it might not one feed tame (it should) if it doesn't it will teleport somewhere else and continue sleeping but u should be able to track it if u have the stryder tracker if the second try doesn't work just dont try anymore it will not tame (if u didnt know the shadowmane has to be asleep for the tame it cannot be awake) thank u for ur time (also shadowmane are fast swimmers so if u escape predators to the water dont try)

For saver tooth fish put basket at shore facing the opposite way tjj oh the shore and then swim and attack a saver fish and then lure it too basket and the pick up basket when it says you can pick up fish with it and repeat that. Still have yet to tame shadow though it is sooo annoying. Have a good day 😊

The best way to acquire a Shadowmane is to transfer to any popular server, and say that your a Beach Bob who needs a starter tame. More than likely, an advanced player will gift you a Shadowmane that’s better than any wild one you could have tamed. Transfer back to your original server, and enjoy you new flying murder kitten. Might take a few tries to find a generous player, but if you bug them long enough they will usually yeild.

Can be tamed with extraordinary kibble now.

Shadowmane will keep harvested materials in they’re inventory even while untamed, so brining an Ovis to feed it can help its slowing it down and even potentially making it completely unable to move, which can make it easier to escape it if it aggros. Trapping them is kind of useless tho, as they may just start attacking the trap, so unless your walls can consume cactus broth an wear ghillie, maybe don’t trap the shadowmane, or do, idk? Maybe you’ve got a strategy for it
