Most of the time it’s a pain in the butt to tame. It’s so hard and annoying to find them in the purple forest on Fjordur, an they just run away once you feed them. One day I kept trying to get one but my Desmodus kept killing it. I have bad experiences what these guys. Overall hard to tame but kind if worth it.

Whoever said, that they are keeping stuff in their inventory, is wrong. Fed 20 ovis to one 150. Killed it and it had not one single pelt in its inventory.

Super easy taming! Use 4 Behemoth gates set up in a square as a trap. If he sleeps, you can land on the gate and fall down in the CROUCH behind him. Don't fall on him!! (he won't be happy about it xD) If you have given the fish, you just fly up and it calms down again.

You can tame with federation armor and you can use fish as small as 0.9 although i recommend using the biggest fish you can find, From personal experience if you take too long to time the progress bar reverts to 0% i had it happen twice to me just make sure to stay on top of getting it fed as quickly as possible

This is definitely a knockout tame, just grab a wooden club and start whacking it, and it might run away, so always get a slingshot on hand, and it’s completely passive, so don’t worry. When you knock it out feed it mejoberries.

How to easily tame a Shadowmane.

1. Locate the shadowmane

2. Get on average 20 fish in baskets ( I heard that certain fish get better taming efficacy like salmon - apparently X-Salmon are the best )

3. Apply cactus broth, bring several for long tames, and several bug repellent for the insect life in the area

4. Using your Fed armour fly behind the shadowmane.

5. Sneak up on the shadowmane from behind and feed it, fly up if it wakes up

6. Using the taming hud track the shadowmane whilst flying a good few feet above the ground.

Repeat until tamed.

You can tame them with aberrant fish!!! I caught a whole bunch of coel easily on Aberration, cryopodded them, brought to Gen 2 and then trapped them back in the baskets.

-Catching fish, just slap a wooden cage on the fish's head, and then place the fish trap. It can't move away.

-4x4 wall traps, and feeding them through walls still work.

Net them if they refuse to sleep.

Make fish baskets in lost isles and throw them in a terminal yall

If you want to make the fish basket you have to go on lost island and make it there

Put taming speed to 10000 so it only takes one fish
