To the guy who said that you should be able to place fish baskets near enemy structures, think of piranhas.

When taming be careful as they can dismount you from your tame

When capturing fish, I definitely recommend a trap. I use 3-4 gateways and gates. Wait for it to stop moving and build the trap around it. It makes the process so much faster. And always kill the ducks.

A trap that worked extremely well for me was 4 foundations placed in a square. Than 8 double doorways placed around the edges, next is 4 hatch frames placed on top of the double doorways, than start placing 16 walls down on top of the hatch frames, it’s possible to do it with only 8 but the Shadowmane with be able to get out more easily. Then lure the Shadowmane in by either placing down ramps of letting the Shadowmane shock you and fall into the trap. Leave render distance immediately so the Shadowmane doesn’t hit you and escape and so the it looses aggro to the stone trap. Than come back and pop on your gilli and start the taming by crouching and going beneath the hatch frames through the double doors and feeding it.

For your first shadowmane trap, use 4 stone foundations, 16 stone walls, and 4 wooden ramps.

Build a 2 by 2 foundation with walls that are 4 high and drop your shadowcat in there. Almost never aggros to you and ya just feed it fish through the walls. Perfect tame every time definitely the best trap I know of :) happy hunting

Use fish that are 2.0+ size the bigger the better

Place a wooden cage over a fish to make it easier to trap them in the fish basket

Don’t bring piranhas to tame bing biggest things you can catch in the fish basket and wait till it goes to sleep to walk up to

So u can trap one with a four foundation and 2 to 4 high walls . If u have a quetzel you can pick it up and bring it back to a trap . After that just take ur time and get fish . Once it's day time and it starts sleeping all u have to do is go by its face while it's pooping out of the walls and feed it and there u have it lol

When taming make sure you have a fish over 1.5x in most unofficial server it take 1 fish that is over 1.5x to tame having fish lower than that will decrease the taming effectiveness

They will kill you on site. And it's almost impossible to find one.

Shadowmane no longer teleporting to us while agroing, they just bitting like the rexes

I always used tek boots and chest piece with ghillie everything else to avoid detection

It doesn't look like anything above 1.5 gives it higher taming efficiency. We fed it 2.2 and 2.4 and was giving same as 1.5 and 1.6

Ignore what other people have told you. You don't need gillie. Don't bring gillie. Use the federation suit and hover above, then fly away a bit run closer then crouch ez your done. Also protip if your wearing the federation suit and you fall of a cliff while crouching and land next to a sleeping shadowmane it won't wake up unless you land in front of its face.

Note: this method requires a quetz. This is how we did it: we carried the little kitty back to the non-evil side of the map with our quetz and placed him in an open area with all dinosaurs killed beforehand. Do the usual where you feed it fish. Make sure you have your ghillie or eat cactus soup (or both). If its high level and you don't have enough time to tame him before night time, place a trap with stone doorways and carry the shadowmane with your quetz into the trap for the night. He won't lose taming during the night. That way you can also get more fish if you need to. Be aware that if you go too far he will unload and he will be able to leave the trap, so either leave a tribe member around to watch him or fish where you can see him. If you are using better dinos as of 06/11/21 , do not use wire baskets, it won't tame him.

To tame this you get stinky piranha fishes find one sneak with Gilly armor and feed when sleeping run but not to far do that like 29 times

And do not get wrong and make it aggressive so don’t get too close sneak sneak up from behind when you’re feeding and yeah then you got yourself a hard to get shadow mane
