Both extremely strong tames. They have a blink attack that once charged can jump between every target stunning them. As you attack they charge a special attack that once released is quite devastating. They're able to stealth. They can swim better than most sea creatures. They have a leap ability that can cover a lot of ground or help traverse vertically. And one of the coolest features is that they are a pack animal and recieve pack bonuses. The coolest feature is that when mate boosted the females gain the ability to stealth mostly everyone and thing within a close vicinity and the males have a roar that increases speed and recovers torpidity and stamina at an insane rate.

You can find Shadowmanes sleeping near purple rivers that are located lower-left portion of the map.

If you find a breeding pair beware the male is always on lookout however the female plays around

If you’re looking at the shadow kittys and they disappear, don’t even bother running

Males will always be the pack leader. And seem to generally be stronger than their female counterparts.

These are incredibly bugged on Fjordur. Randomly wake up and wont go back to sleep, and taming randomly resrts while they are still asleep.

THESE TAMES ARE BUSTED I GOT A 130 leveled it up a bit then I can do 300-500dmg and super hot like 1500/2000

1. Get and wear a full ghillie suit

2.sneak up to it while crouch and keep eye contact, do not look away

3. Shoot it with a net projectile

4.build walls to trap it

5.get a basket and get fish in it

6. Repeat 2.

There you go, and if it fails, well, you know what to do☠️😭🙏🔫

Great for stealing eggs. Able to turn invisible and leap ungodly distances, these creatures are perfect for stealing things like wyvern eggs. You can just wander around in stealth mode, looking for a notch with an egg, and when you see one, you can leap up and immediately turn back to stealth. Leaping does make you visible, but there’s nothing stopping you from immediately turning invisible upon landing. Then, you can just hop off and steal the egg, quickly getting back on and turning invisible again. You can then, in stealth mode, just fall out of the little notch and walk out of the ravine. As long as your shadow mane has enough stamina, there is literally nothing stopping you.

Useful sea creatures, it doesn’t have an oxygen limit and ur able to use their special ability underwater.

You can use weapons while on it’s back, even while invisible, so you can shoot things and they will not agri or run away, making this great for taming.

Shadowmane has a live birth instead of eggs

For catching fish… place a human cage on the fish, place basket and caught, saves waiting for fish to come to your basket.

Thatch foundation also trap fish

In Fjordur you can also get fungal wood from the blue bulby mushroom tree things where the shadowmanes spawn.

Best tame for dragon. Get shadowmanes between dragon and yuty and the dragon won't aggro them just you. And the shadowmanes are big enough they block the dragon. If you do it right you can beat alpha dragon in minutes.

build a 2x2x2 box then fly above the box with your tek armour and shoot it so it agros on you. it will then teleport to you and fall into the box. next, you fly away from the box so it is out of render. fly back to the box and feed the shadowmane through the wall. there is no way for it to ago unless you fly above the walls.

Trap it in a 2x2, then use net harpoon if it does the no sleep glitch. After hours of struggling I tried the harpoon and it works! Did not lower taming efficiency in my case.

Easiest way to tame a shadowmane without a ghillie suit:

[This won't make finding large fish any easier, but will greatly help the taming process be basically 100% impossible to mess up]

- make a 2x2 box, 2 walls high, 3 walls high on opposite side of ramps

- make sure the walls are actual walls, not doorframes, windows, etc.

- build a ramp on whatever side you so please

- bait shadowmane into trap and leave render distance to deaggro the shadowmane

- if the shadowmane is continuing to attack the walls of your trap, build new walls and place over the wall(s) it's attacking

- done, let it sleep, walk up (with or without ghillie suit, won't matter) feed it, and boom...
