Did you know that they can climb up walls when they are invisible?

They can stun the Mek, knocking you out and resulting in a very bad time.

When attempting to tame a shadowmane, bring another shadowmane within close distance and keep it cloaked. As soon as it wakes you can ride yours and cloak before it agros. Trap it with bear traps and metal billboards. You're welcome.

Make sure to use guile armor, it can go invisible when it notices you and gets ready to pounce, also make sure to feed it when its asleep since isn’t alert.

If thry are in pack they are really strong and can use hide ability, you should have both of male and female to use hiden skill.

For Female if they are in group she can make another invisible in her area. (press "x" )

For male,lf they are in group, he can buff movement speed and recovering (press "x" )

Both of gender press "c" : individual invisible, press hold "space bar" for dashing

Click right for target an enemie will dash and attack but if you are holding the right click it will target all enemies in area and attack all of them, this doesn't mean can kill all of them but just attack all of them, be careful.

Easily my favorite mount in the game-I just wish they spawned on more maps than Fjordur and Gen 2. I understand why though bc they don't necessarily fit in well with the biomes on other maps. (Except Abberation, but there's no way they would put a shadowmane on there with the rock drakes.)
