Actually smart on Fjordur look out

In fjordur inside the abberation cave in Vannaland close to the beach, if you got the megapithicus terminal where a karkinos spawns, in the little pond with the lampreys, you can find a lot of decent sized x-sabertooth salmons, for shadowmane taming. (I was able to catch about six 1.1 - 1.2s)It's super easy o cath them because they don't move because of how shallow the water is(the water is purple)

The meter at the bottom is the combo bar, fill it by attacking and when it’s full, hold down the attack. Make a kill gets you another combo

Get a lot of fish baskets keep them on you at all times then trap a bunch of fish before you want to tame a shadow mane then cryo the fish only catch fish that are 1.4 or bigger then when it’s time to tame uncryo them then catch them again and find a high lvl shadow mane and you should get 100% taming I hope this helped

What you need is a couple fish baskets to tame them, they have a time where they fall asleep what you do is you CROUCH to them put the fish basket in your last inventory slot feed it. Once you do it'll wake up and go invisible, but you can see its pink glowing pawprints follow it and it will go out of invis and goes back to sleep feed it again and repeat the process

Both variants will have dash attack. Males will have fear roar/courage roar kinda thing and females go invisible

fill hot bar with food that way its a easy refill,,, build / 4 stone foundations, 16 walls(preferably next to water) kite one to youre "room" hover above it will teleport just behind you so pretty easy for it to fall in, drop and run so it doesnt teleport back out, leave render range so it deaggroos and will sleep, and then poof you can feed through the walls. and make sure the treats dont spoil from said nearby watersource. up so ppl see, this makes then a total cake walk

Fungal Wood is right in the Shadowmanes area on Fjordur(Blue Swamp). They look like little

Mushroom balls. Gets no easier.

Finally got one after many trys, be wsrned at night, they are very active and can detect yoy from very far away

Really great moant for ferrox taming, magma egg gathering and mutagel collecting. When things agro just go invisible.

CONSERVE YOUR FISH BASKETS!

Trap fish in a fish basket, then cryo the fish. Keep them cryoed until you want to tame a shadow, then make another fish basket, release them from the cryo and trap them again. Put the fish basket in your hot bar and submerge yourself to reset their timer. No wasting fish baskets. Get lots of fungal wood to make more baskets as they will destroy after you "tame".

Shadowmanes, have a time period within which they sleep, this is during the day and starts at 8:00 you can see the world time by holding H and looking in the top left corner. Also Ghillie suits are completely unnecessary as long as you stay behind and retreat quickly once fed.

This is gunna be the cool new creature that everyone wants to run around on similar to Magmasaurs in genesis part one and reapers and rock drakes in aberration

Elixir can also be used on passive tames such as this one. However, I've read on Reddit that somone used it on Shadowmane and that it restarted their taming to 30%. I was sort of scared because I was also going to tame Shadowmane at the time, and I was sure that I don't have enough fishes to tame high level (most of them were higher than 1.5, I think I had two of them like 1.3) I already included the fact that most of them are gonna probably spoil, as I don't remember that often to refresh them in water. I had some problems, as the game was really glitchy and I ran out of good fishes. So as you can tell I was forsed to use elixir. I took situation as if it finishes tame (Shadowmane at the time was st 70%) I'm gonna just put it in cryopod but if it restarts I'm gonna just give up since I didn't have any good fish left. I put elixir in my last slot and I slowly aproached Shadowmane as it was sleeping. I just looked at him and I pressed 0 (button for PC -last slot) and it was tamed! Pretty happy expirience, because it was my first time using elixir on Shadowmane. My first try taming Shadowmane was without elixir and it was also good! It was pretty low level so I didn't need that good fish. He died to another player killing us in half of the game R.I.P Safet (Safet is old Bosnian name XD)

How to tame shadowmanes:

First you will need fish baskets (how many depends on the level, so check dododex)

You should also wear chillie armour and you can also consume some captus broth

Then you need to crouch up on a sleeping shadowmane of your choice (they are usually asleep in the middle of the day)

Feed it fish baskets and then move away because it will wake up

Then continue doing that until it is tamed!

Shadowmanes are horrible in simpler traps that don't fully abuse ai and whatnot, so if you don't want to waste 40k stone for half a trap, try netting the shadowmanes when they go on the prowl (invis) and killing the bad ones while leaving your preferred one alive, then leaving the locale and coming back and doing the tame the right way. Trust me, it is way more consistent when you don't use a trap, just leagues more dangerous.

Go to the NE corner of the purple map there is a giant lake there make fish baskets and capture piranhas. They count as well and are much easier to catch then simply fly south. You can reset a fish baskets spoil time by putting it in your hotbar and stand in water. Find your shadow and trap it with four Dino gates and doors in a tight square formation. They cannot walk through the gates so get it to teleport in or seal the trap as it's clawing you. Wait for 0830 time, Crouch walk up to it with a fish basket in your last hotbar slot and feed it by its tail. Feeding if by its head will reset tame progress.
