So I have tamed many shadowmane and if you are trying to go for 100% taming efficiency use 2.5x fish. These fish will give you 100%! I noticed that 2.4x and 2.3x will also keep the 100% taming efficiency after using a 2.5x fish but I am not 100% on that yet. Hope this helps those who wanted to get 100% taming efficiency!!

If you encounter it in the wild just run with the tek pants and fly too.

When taming them walk up from behind it give it the basket and run while crouched

These are super convenient for chasing players, as they can teleport to and stun both players and games using their lighting dash ability. This ability can also be used to locate some player if your eyesight is as bad as mine.

Build a cage in a relatively safe place thats huge(you can use the bridges hallway between the actual bridge and rockwells garden. Block it off with behemoths and done!

Grab your shadowmane of choice with a tek skiff and throw it in your cage.

Now you can safely tame it without interference!

These are easy to tame in a 2x2 trap! Just trap the kitty and wait until if falls asleep and feed it fish everytime it goes back to bed. It won't attack you. :)

When taming these find the one you want and use the night to fish and clear the area around the shadowmane of other creatures. This will limit the amount it might get spooked and wake. Also use a ghillie suit and CACTUS Broth to mask you while you creep up behind it to feed while it's asleep.

Best way to tame them right here.

1. Find a shadowmane on its own. Preferbly away from aggressive dinos.

2. Make a 2x2 stone floor. Surround with 2 high stone walls, 16 in total. Add a wooden ramp on one side.

3. Aggro the shadowmane and fly above the trap, you'll get attacked a couple of times and it MAY take multiple tries but it WILL go in.

4. Fly high so it stops aggro. You'll have to fly so it goes off screen.

5. Wait for it to sleep and feed it fish from fish baskets by walking up to where it'd tail is. You can feed it through the wall (I'd recommend 1.0 or bigger, if they're timer is running out just take a dip in some water. It'll reset the timer.)

5. When you feed it fish it'll wake up. You don't have to move as it won't aggro cause it can't see you. Repeat until tamed.

100% guaranteed to work. I've tamed a bunch this way. Just gotta watch out for enemy dinos and make sure you have plenty of fish baskets full.

Make a 2x2 box with ramps going up, hover over the box and the shadow mane should teleport to u and land in the box. If not lead it up the ramp and as soon as it is in the box go out of render.

There's a lot of people saying to use piranhas but don't It takes ages to tame a high level try going for fish of 1.5x or higher for 100% taming efficiency and for it to be faster.

Can be trapped in a 2x2 box 2 high to make for super easy tame. No ghilie and no broth required (just don't touch it or aggro it.)

Here's a trap idea build a 2x2 foundation build a 1 high door frames and fill the roof with hatchs and build 2 high walls and add stairs to get up once shadowmane is in stay in the middle of the hatchs and wait till its feed able it is a easy simple trap and it works 9/10 times its brilliant

Did you know that they can climb up walls when they are invisible?

Can be carried by Quetzal. Makes the taming easier if you have a taming pen in a safe location. All that is needed is a quetz, a harpoon gun with net ammo and the fish in baskets at that point.

This is a difficult tame but there are ways to make it easier.

Tame a quetzal first and pick up your choice mane and bring it to one of the vents on the edge of space. This way the shadowmane can’t aggro on anything and it makes the whole process easier.

When catching fish stick to very shallow water as the big fish get stuck and become much easier to catch. Use a snow owl and spyglass or radar tek stryder to check sizes, ignore anything below 1.5.

Once you’ve trapped your cat and caught your fish the shadowmane will only go to sleep from about 7:00-19:00 in game time so outside of that frame keep your fish from spoiling by standing in water with them in your hotbar.

It has a water super skill like a spino and has a ultimate power gague power it up by getting a hit

2.4x fish let me get 100% effectiveness while taming in my 4x server not sure how it applies in official rates but wanted to make note of it...

For a easier tame put them in a 4×4 trap two walls high then run out of render and come back and feed them through a wall don't fly over them however bc then they can teleport out and too you.

When its netted it goes really often to sleep, cant attack you and it the net doesnt decrease the taming efficency

You can use a Tek Bow to pull one out of the pack away from the others while they all sleep. It won't wake up the rest.
