Ghillie kinda helps or hover above it with tek armor then drop down and have a fish if at least 1.2X

Yall, today i was trying to tame shadowmane so if yall ARENT PATIENT THIS IS FOR YOU

1) fish baskets

1. Craft some fish baskets ( u will need fiber, thatch and that white wood or What is it)

2. Place baskets

3. I prefer salmon so hit him and lead him to the basket and press E on PC

4. Your full fish basket will be in your inventory

2) Where i Can find shadowmane?

Im playing on fjordur only so you will need to use the cave Where are 3 portals ( go to the yellow one )

3) How do i tame shadowmane?

I was using a trap so i will tell ya, Its almost same as the trap for direwolfs ( the one Where u Can get here only if u Can fly) But take -1 wall cause i would use doorframe ( i Can enter in without argentavis, etc)

4) When tame shadowmane?

When it goes to sleep go inside the trap ( the door needs to be opened before He sleeps ) and press E

It will wake up and go invisible so run as fast u Can from the trap ( if u have rlly big hp u dont need to worry ) then do it again, again until Its tamed. ( remember waking it up when Its almost tamed will loose everything and the taming will be 0%) so that’s Why u need to be patient SOMETIMES) hope it helps :D

If the fish is smaller than 0.5 the shadow mane does not exepted the fish an don the top of your screen it says something like fish is too small

IMPORTANT NOTE: If you’re having problems catching fish to tame these guys. DONT use the Coelacanth, USE THE SABERTOOTH SALMON!! Don’t waste hours of your time (like me) trying to get the Coels, YOU CAN AGGRO the sabertooth salmon and they’ll swim right into the baskets.

On Fjordur u can find Shadowmanes are found in the Genesis Part 2 area of Asgard

If they wake up in un naturally taming efficiency will reset 😭😭😭

a very effective counter to a shadowmane is a deadly tame being able to quickly deal with it,

another is a mount that you stay on even after dismounting or being dismounted such as a magmasaur. or a rex.

and another is just killing it from range with a gun. i recommend a shotgun. it has spread, good for emergencies when it attacks, for groups, and making quick work of them.

the last is another shadowmane. being able to sneak up to a sleeping shadowmane with a full charged bar and doing the super attack to make quick work. and the ranged for a stun and groups of em.

I'd suggest cryo the fish once you catch them just make sure you have enough baskets when you go tame them save a lot of spoil timers plus you can get them ready 1 at a time, give it the fish go get the next 1 ready by then should be able to feed it again.

Fungal wood can also be found on the main island in the water the big flat brown mushroom looking things.

Biggest tips, clear out everything that might aggro on you and larger herbivores as manes will aggro onto these. Use your tek helmet if on gen2

Use the net gun to separate packs and to pin your target down for easier trapping.

Only hunt during the day so you can have an easier time setting a trap.

Tame away from any rivers.

The AI really loves to bug on these making them impossible to tame. On sp you can simply reload after trapping to reset the ai. Mp players will have to find another method. If you have issues with it randomly aggroing or not sleeping the AI is bugged and you'll need to find a way to reset it- don't waste resources/sanity trying to tame if this happens

Guly is nesesary and easy to tame but be carful

Where do you find them on fjordur? I know it's in asgard but where? Can somebody tell me where to find shadowmane on asgard?

if you want to get 100% taming effectiveness (or as close as possible at least) you need to use 2.0 fish but since the size rounds i recommend using 2.1+ size.

I just saw an avatar trailer and one of the aliens in it kind of looks like this

They get a massive boost to there health regeneration when put asleep via the radial menu and when combined with a snow owl it is insane.

You can pick it up with a quetzal and put in a taming pen..just make the taming pen closeby...just saying..😂

On fjordur you can get fungal wood off of things that look like large mushrooms only just surfacing the water outside the crystal trench

Wear however you pronounce it gihlle suit get big fish with fish traps while its laying down build a trap around it but make sure nothing is around to aggro the shadowmane then feed it the fish but step away every feed hope this helps

It takes 50 seconds between to feedings

Unheard taming tips, do what you must:

*Their aggro is crazy, but you can always use a Pachyrhino to help you get their attention and then calm them down. Re-redering also works, but only if the taming proccess wasn't started.

*Sanguine Elixir makes the whole ordeal easier, but as with any passive tame, you must feed it the first time with taming food AND wait until it is ready to be feed again to use the Elixir.

*For fishing aid, you can use Wooden Cages and Giant Bee Honey. Cages will hold fish, honey attracts them. Honey usage can therefore be undesired, but cages are always useful.
