These guys are crazy, I was exploring the Rockwell biome for the first time and a lone male jumped me out of the sky off my snow owl,, luckily before I hit the ground my tek suit activated and I got my snow owl back before it killed the Shadowmane. After that I made sure I was extremely high up. I got jumped from about the height of two flower like trees. I also am chattering some fish currently to tame the guy now. He’s a low level but that’s perfect for a first time taming one. Also is a brilliant blue color.

Trap a bunch of fish using fish baskets then empty the basket in the water so you can cryo the fish and fill a cryo fridge of fish ready for when you need them, you can trap tamed fish easily because they dont move unless you tell it to

For taming, get a wooden cage and trap fish that are 2x or above, then catch them with a fish basket

Successfully tamed 4 now, the key is be patient and never be standing near it and only go near the base of the tail near the bum. If you don't think you have enough time to make it to the tail to feed or its facing twords you just wait until the next cycle. I even found that it can roam and be around other creatures while taming. So I used full ghilli, cactus broth and even bug repellent for the spiders and scorps. I used a shotgun for anything that did aggro to me. Really just stay away from its head and you can get one.

Taming a shadow mane is not as easy as it looks. The first thing your going to need to do is get the taming food for the shadowmane, which is fish in fish baskets. Try to catch big fish because the bigger the fish the more the taming effectiveness. Then your going to need to find one. Finding shadowmanes are relatively easy considering they live along rivers and bodies of water, be careful though as they can be in packs of 3 - 6 or less. Once you have found a shadow mane try to isolate it from the rest of its pack so that you don’t get attacked by the other pack members, then build a 4 foundation, 16 wall, 4 ramp trap and lure the shadow mane inside. Once the shadowmane is unaggro’d on the trap you can feed it, shadowmanes are nocturnal so because of this they will take short naps in the daytime which is how you feed them fish in fish baskets. If you follow these tips I guarantee you will tame yourself a decent high level shadowmane to conquer ark with. I wish you the best of luck survivor!

2.1 fish or higher makes it 100% efficiency.

When taming shafowmanes, use 1.5 fish and above for 100% efficiency.

Make a 2x2 trap with 3 walls high and for the first layer have door frames and 1 level above you you have 4 trap doors so it’s sort of like a basement. Works amazing

Making nooblets trap is def the way to go. Way easier than following it and having a chance at messing up

2x2x2 trap works just fine. Just go away to deagro it and then feed through the wall. Feed onky 2.1 fish If you want 75lvls +. Fish farm is easy in abberation rivers not far from north surface entrance (no spino or karkinos there).

If you place caught fish in your hotbar then enter water it will reset their spoil timer

Just to clarify, full ghillie is not required to sneak up on the murder cat. You can in fact fly around in your tek gear and land a moderate distance away before making your approach from behind it. Ghillie may make this easier but honestly I didn't notice a significant difference.

You will lose brain cells while taming this.

Males always are pack leader i saw a lvl 110 female and a lvl 20 male together and the male was packleader

warning:do not go near these if u do not have gillie armour or dart guns(kinda learned that the hard way).

Rev PvP on YouTube has made a trap guide that doesn't require sneaking up or using ghillie. I think it's the best possible method. Search "Shadowmane trap rev pvp" it should pop up.

I have lost a total of 138382 brain cells trying to tame this thing. I learned that the fish must be size 1 or above. Any fish below that size will be rejected
