ARK: Survival Evolved & Ascended Companion
Tips & Strategies

What are tips for sarco? Tips and strategies for sarco in ARK: Survival Ascended & Evolved.
For me, is one of the best pets. It can be tamed easily and fast, and then he give u absolutely defense on the coasts of the island, and underwater. 4 more things about him that helps a lot in game:
1. His speed in water is very big, so u can go for all island by rivers without fear to be eated(if u need, u can escape with him)
2. Ability "C" Is good to hunting, and deal not bad damage(bit more of normal attack)
3. He can pass in almost all caves, so it good companion there(I'm not very "pro" In game, but in South caves, sarco give u the easiest way to obtain a lots of exp, chitin and meat, without doing a lot of work)
4. The last one special and very useful thing that sarco have, is his possibility to turn in one jump, when u want. So if u are on the land, and being attacked from back, only focus camera in the enemy and click on attack button.
For taming these guys I would suggest getting it onto land as they are very slow and u can outrun them easily. I would also recommend using tranq arrows or tranq darts
Easy mid or early game tame. All u have to do is lead it away from the swamp hit it with a few tranqs, keep it asleep and shove meat down it’s throat. Also not dying to kapros
Help one of these spawned on the beach and now I'm stuck hiding on the bluff!! He looks stuck!! I don’t know if I should ignore try to tame or just try to kill. Very scary.
Just keep a slight distance away and shoot narco arrows into it's head. If you upgrade your movement speed some (idk how much exactly), you could just keep walking backwards to keep the sarco from reaching you since it never runs on land (at least none of them ever did for me).
You can use a crossbow from its back even when submerged, so it's a great mount to safely tranq other aquatic creatures.
tame these guys if you have access to sickle and a tranq arrows, Learned it in the hard way.
Just takes a 140 and I can’t do any damage with it in ascended. I might get lucky and a little bit of damage here and there but the attack on it is messed up. It is still super fast in the water though
If you want to kill a sarcosuchus, you need a dodo armee. Or a dinosaur armee. Just tame 10 dinos etc. That's the easiest way (I think so)
I just found one in the wild and stood on top my quetzal and shot it from above until it passed out
Bring a tanking dino like a parasaur with around 1300 hp then you should be good to tame a lvl 60-75 just ride the parasaur then let it tank the sarco hits and ko him then you got your own croco boy
He was stuck in tree I got my club out I keep on hitting him I feed him he was so bad I put him in the water.crap he was fast!
These are super strong beginner tames all you need to tame one is a bow and tranq arrows because of their high damage. If you see one I’d recommend just running if you’re a begginer(two of these killed and destroyed everything I had when I started in single player) if you’re taming one lure it away from other creatures and water fisrt then just walk backwards and shoot and if it come close just run and reset.
My sarco killing cindaria killer killed over 198of them
Most people think an icthy or a meg would be a good ocean tame but this is way better it’s got just as good stats if not better then a meg and is as fast as an icthy so I would definitely say this or the basilosaurus is the best at exploring the ocean
The sarco is a large, semi-aquatic crocodilian, who can be a rather helpful starter tame, (and possibly end game). The easiest way to tame a sarco, although you may have some of your health depleted, it is a rather effective way. Find yourself an oversized crocodile and get it to come onto land, never fight an Australian crocodile in the water, or it’s all over. Once it has crawled up onto land, get between the base of the tail and it’s hind legs, then, begin to hit it with either your fists (newbie method), a bat (not as newbie), or an electric prod (definitely not newbie method). Once the overfed lizard is knocked out, place the food of your choice (kibble or fish recommended) and wait…and wait…and wait…aaaand wait some more…you get my point. And ta-da, you got yourself a prehistoric Crocodile! Enjoy!
It's common knowledge these overgrown lizards are more than fast in any body of water. They are great for survivability where situations turn un-winable(eg. gliding across shallow puddles as you escape, with you & dino still alive) & have great damage output particularly on land.
I want to highlight the swipe-up lunge attack on mobile which, with enough stamina & some directing practice, will increase the effective chomped area, can 2x or more your hit damage output, get you the 1st(& 2nd) hit. You need to skillfully slam against the target in order for the next lunge to do it's damage(2, 3 or 4 times) before shooting past & having to turn around/readjust.
Combat IN the water is much less effective. Your speed makes it hard to score hits & water combat will drain your sarco's food very quickly. You have to adopt a hit & run tactic which will work fine as long as your sarco is prepared with plenty of meat & you keep in mind DROWNING while focused on a drawn out fight in the depths (due to sarco's speed).
Sarco's great instead for gathering information underwater or traveling large distances. Unlike travel with a pteranodon, sarco has a bigger weight capacity, so it can be handy for moving what you need to quickly, carrying pick-ups along the way & bodyguarding while you are busy. Thanks for reading!
