ARK: Survival Evolved & Ascended Companion
Tips & Strategies
It's common knowledge these overgrown lizards are more than fast in any body of water. They are great for survivability where situations turn un-winable(eg. gliding across shallow puddles as you escape, with you & dino still alive) & have great damage output particularly on land.
I want to highlight the swipe-up lunge attack on mobile which, with enough stamina & some directing practice, will increase the effective chomped area, can 2x or more your hit damage output, get you the 1st(& 2nd) hit. You need to skillfully slam against the target in order for the next lunge to do it's damage(2, 3 or 4 times) before shooting past & having to turn around/readjust.
Combat IN the water is much less effective. Your speed makes it hard to score hits & water combat will drain your sarco's food very quickly. You have to adopt a hit & run tactic which will work fine as long as your sarco is prepared with plenty of meat & you keep in mind DROWNING while focused on a drawn out fight in the depths (due to sarco's speed).
Sarco's great instead for gathering information underwater or traveling large distances. Unlike travel with a pteranodon, sarco has a bigger weight capacity, so it can be handy for moving what you need to quickly, carrying pick-ups along the way & bodyguarding while you are busy. Thanks for reading!
More Sarco Utility Tips
During my first 30 days of playing on my single player world, I was able to take 4 of these absolute beasts. We were UNSTOPPABLE. That was until an Alpha Megladon absolutely wrecked all four of them. Can I get an F for my boys
Ok most people say these big boys are for beginners but your wrong itβs the best guy for underwear mount it restores its stamina instantly under water itβs not good on land but put that puppy in the water you will love it 10/10
Once upon a time, my Sarco and I were hunting some Megalodons for fish meat, when a pack of Cnidaria stung the both of us, I tried to swim to the shore but it's too late. Mantas and Megs attacked me and my Sarco. My Sarco tried to fight back, biting his opponents. I swam back to the shore, and... My Sarco never came back. His dead corpse was a feast for Mantas and Megalodons. I hold my fists, my mind thirst for revenge. Rifle in hand, I swam back, shooting every Megalodon and Mantas I see. It was a bloodbath, bodies of Megalodon and Mantas floating in the ocean. I avenged his deathβ¦ My Sarcoβ¦
Rain pours down to the land. He left his beloved wife and son.
One like = One Sarco lives.
Need a bridge under water mount.Tame this.Level up movement and melee and you can tame a mosa or basil.
Good mount to take into rivers and even the ocean. Good for hunting fish and I've even seen it beat a megladon. But never use it to fight a Rex because if things go south it is a very slow land mount. Short and sweet it is a hunting mount
Usefull for transportation in water they swim very fast and can kill trikes not low level sarcs tho
Electric Eels CANNOT dismount you on these!!!! GOOD TAME, when youβre on genesis to get a start in the ocean biome! (Found in big biome) Happy taming and safe travels, also.... wash your hands :)
Single player uses:
1. Early game power dino: Sarcos are fairly strong and very easy to tame.
2. Taming mount: Sarcos are aster than they look, can turn on a dime and you can use a weapon while riding them.
3. Aquatic mount: They're even faster and more agile underwater, just beware there is a glitch where they instantly die if they go on land, though it's very rare so unlikely to happen.
They DO NOT scare piranhas in ASA. Great for fast transit in water but about it. Maybe even a swamp tank to help with taming. π€·ββοΈ
TLC patch coming March 2018 adding "Deathroll" grab attack on small creatures and a grab attack (possibly thrash) on larger ones, gaining a 180 degree attack and a small lunge to its attack (maybe for deathroll purpose), will no longer aggo pirahnas and in the wild will sit with mouth gaped open awaiting prey.
