Be over level 90-91 for every griffins respect other wise you have to have the last 2 to 3 letters matching there name.

I love these things, I have a lvl 600 green and blue one on a brutal unofficial mobile server and he is the best. Make sure you are level 80, have a trap handy, have a lot of arrows, kibble, and a x15 soothing balm if you want to tame one. They take FOREVER without an admin’s help, even with the balm.

If you're going to tame, look for a low level couple. You can use Tidy Save to respawn griffins (any dino, actually. I tamed my quetzals like this)

I made the mistake of taming it with 15x balm and prime meat

five hours of taming, without taking my eye off the damn griffin, while killing everything that drops prime meat

use allosaurus kibble, balm 10x and starve tame

btw, to spawn the griffins is simple

1 - go to far's peak with flying mount

2 - use tidy save to despawn other wild dinos not rendered

if you did not find the griffin:

3 - go away from far's peak and use tidy save

repeat

my final words: BEWARE! FAR'S PEAK HAS A QUITE COMMON GIGANOTOSAURUS SPAWN

These things are only available on the Mobile version, they spawn at the mountain near Carno Island (along with Gigas so be careful), they all have their own names, and your own name needs to end with the same letters of the Griffin's name for it to respect you, or be Level 95 and all of them will respect you (or buy the premium crown), they take a LOT of prime meat to tame, don't ever try taming one without a soothing balm, even a low level could take hundreds if not thousands of prime meat. They prefer their own kibble so tame a low level breeding pair before taming a high level one with Griffin kibble.

Three ways to tame is:

1. Get a tap and have your friend fly while you tranq it out this works I’ve tamed a griffin this way

2. MAKE A TRAP and tranq it out

3. Go to Far’s Peak and just knock it out without a trap or a tame

P.S. I tamed griffins with all of these methods 1 died and the other woke up though.

1. Get soothing balm(start the pursuit the cave in the south and tribute the artefact at an obelisk to get soothing balm. Or u can just do the pursuit hunt mega piranha that works too.)and get prime from paraceratherium.

2. KO the griffin (I used ramshackle crossbow any KO weapon besides fists and slingshot works fine.)

3. Feed it BIO TOXIN bc it doesn’t drain ho and just better than narcos.

Note: Remember to keep giving it prime bc prime spoils quick.

Ez griffin, should tame in 30~ mins if low lv

First: run the ice cave until you get a compound bow (recommended metal arrow damage should be around 600)

Second: find a low level griffin because a griffin takes lots of food

Third: if you can’t make allo kibble then use prime meat after using a 10x soothing balm

Fourth: make sure to use toxicant tranq arrows to knock out easier

Fifth: wait what feels like 10 years

Sixth: enjoy your griffin : D

How to get shooting balm in single player make bed wait for night then go ofline wait for the free gift collect if it isent shooting balm click on sleep but wait press it away then he kick you when you log in again you will be a while back in time so you can collect it again.

(Every second time you click on sleep he kick you and you will be a while in time)

Sleeping near trapped Griffin causes the griffins food bar zero but remember one thing do not save after you wake up it will restart the griffins food bar to Max so save the game right after you trap the Griffin. Hope this will help you (do not make any mistake) taming Griffin is easy . But finding a satisfying level Griffin is the hardest thing in Ark. Mistake will make you lose your Griffin.

This is probably the most simple way to tame these guys (on mobile ofc)

1. Spawn with a new character with a new name (that meets with a Griffin’s name)

2. Tame a BUNCH of lystrosaurus (preferably female for the eggs)

2.5. Name them Bob and Bobette (not necessary)

3. Once you know how to make a cooking pot, make some lystro kibble (cooked prime meat isn’t that hard to get just kill something slow and/or dumb like a sarco or diplo but be really quick and cool the meet ASAP before it spoils)

4. Use the lystro kibble to tame a male and female low-leveled diplodocus.

5. Now make some Diplo kibble (breed them for optimized production)

6. Use the diplo kibble for allosaurus. (Very hard and hope you have a crossbow, plenty of tranqs, soothing balms, spike walls to defend it when knocked, and a plan)

7. Mass produce allo kibble until Dododex fixes their kibble numbers.

8. Get x15 soothing balm from the amber shop. Find amber nodes or loot crates (allos are fast and strong so you can travel either by foot or on a saddle level 61 btw)

9. Find 2 low level griffins that respects you 1 male 1 female. Then trap and tame with allo kibble.

10. If too troublesome, just buy a chef station

11. Breed and level them up as you go if you want.

Tips: if you want get alot of prime for griffin bait it to swamp because in swamp there alot of creature that drop prime meat (Titanoboa sacro etc.)

Tips 2: you can make griffin food bar become zero by make the Griffin about to knock out then u sleep in bed at night

3. Knock him/her and use smoothing balm then feed allosaurus kibble

For- Normal:90 Kibbles

3X Smoothing balm: 15-30 Kibbles

10X Smoothing balm: 3 Kibbles

15X Smoothing balm: 1 Kibble.

4. Enjoy your Griffin.
