Taming & KO Tips
How do I tame a rock elemental? Tips and strategies on taming and knocking out a rock elemental.
Tried to tame one with stone, ended up taming a Giga while waiting
If your here for a taming tip than I got nothing except don’t try.😕
Use the formula y=(5000+100x)/1800 to figure out how many cannonballs are necessary to knock the golem out. Y is cannonballs. X is level. I suggest bringing at least 2 extra cannonballs.
It's a bit silly that kibble tames it a lot better than rocks or sulfur because even in the dossier it says that it lives off of absorbing nearby rocks and minerals. So mabey they should make it so you have to feed them a rare mineral like obsidian what if they made it so you could tame one fast and with high effectiveness by giving one a few hundred or few thousand obsidian . or what if there kibble was made out of a combination of ores and minerals .
They should make the boulder throw able to knock out other rock elementals.
If you have a level 9999 and use stone and are on 0.01 times taming it takes 80 years....
Me: hits it with canon ball trying to nick it out
Golem: u should have aimed for the head( dies)
ROCKET LAUNCHER WORKS AIM AT THE HEAD AND WAIT FOR IT TO GO UNCONSCIOUS I JUST SUCCEEDED AT TAMING ONE WITH THIS
There is a great little natural passage that you can kite the golem in to at 64.1 - 49.9. We tame all our Golem there. They can't get out but once tamed can be moved out. It offers a great firing position for your cannon.
Don't steal someone's 190 lightning wyvern egg or expect one of these at your base.
“Ahh what a nice day to mine a rock” Little does this poor soul know… this rock is sentient. This rock is the rock elemental, it has many other names, like rock golem, rock monster, and so on. If you know what they look like, they’re really easy to avoid. Or if you want to avoid them all together these maps have rock elementals: Scorched earth, Crystal isles, Valguero, Ragnorak, Lost island, and extinction.
What do they look like? They look like your local chad, except enlarge him about the size of a Giga, and cover him with rocks. (Don’t do that) so how do you tame him? It’s a pretty simple tame, but very expensive. Grab a cannon and cannonballs from your local medieval fortress, or if your a square, just make one. Make a few extra cannonballs just to be safe. And look for rocks that look abnormal to their environment, they usually take the form of large grey slate rocks. Get its attention, get it stuck underneath a overhang, place ur cannon and blow his face to next year. It’s ok if you miss one or twice, their torpor goes down clocking in at snail speed. MAKE SURE YOU HIT ITS FACE if you don’t the count doesn’t count. When it knocks out, feed it kibble, or if you have all the time in the world and don’t care about the level, feed it stone, sulphur, or clay.
What’s the purpose of taming this guy. Apart from it looking cool, it’s your #1 soaker right there. Wanna raid a base in pvp but it has a lot of turrets? Introduce it to your rock friend :D ride your golem, and when the turrets start aiming at you, turn around, and look down. This protects you entirely from turret fire, unless it’s all around you. Is that it? Nope they also classify as a sentient catapault, they throw huge rocks! Not convinced? They have a lot of health, and are decently fast. So anyways if you are planning to raid a well defended base? Bring a couple of these guys! Thanks for reading!
If you tame it with stone you will end up taming a giagantosaurus with cooked fish meat
Ok if you trying to tame a rock elemental then read it all it's the easiest way I know. Well I have made it for enough into the game where I had a rocket launcher and I saw a high level nocked it out and realized that when it ate one stone it only went up by .2% taming so in the moment I went of to find sulfur and the only place I was finding it was the ice wyvern den thing in a small cave but there's a ton of it and with a metal pick man you get a lot the rock element took around 150 sulfur to tame but I would grab more just in case
PRO TIP: on 2x taming weekends (Evolution Events) on official servers. You can knock out a level 20 or below elemental, slap some sulfur in it, and call it a day as it will not require narcotics on 2x but WILL still take 4 hours.
You can use the MEK CANNON to almost instantly torp it out get a tribe mate on a owl to get the attention and then fire! We tamed a 150 today and it took two shots .
Hi, Looking to try to tame one of these? Great idea! In this tip is what I would recommend bringing, it’s entirely your choice what you want to use! :D Now, the first thing to pack is a cannon and at least 50 cannonballs (I suggest bringing an extra cannon!) Next simply a foundation of any type, as the first thing the rock golem will hit is the cannon, whatever is underneath it is safe! And finnaly taming food! This would normally be where I state the narcotics needed, but this creatures torpor would take days just to wake up! I’m pretty sure they like extraordinary kibble! And I would recommend bringing kibble, as taming it with anything else could take days! And this one is optional but I would also recommend bringing at least 5 metal gateways for a trap! Now that your all ready (assuming you packed armor and regularly used weapons of your choice) for the knockout process! These guys are disguised as rocks, they are very easy to distinguish because of the way off in color of its disguise, compared to the natural rock formations around it, it will also if you have a spyglass confirm whether it’s a rock golem or not! Ghillie is recommended if you plan to trap it! Equip ghillie and go prone, now you are basically invisible to the golem, you can safely place the metal gates arround it with ease! Once complete feel free to get up and walk around! Next place the foundation and the cannon far enough away to where it can’t hit it, (other than the rock throw) and to the point where you can shoot it easily! Now VERY carefully shoot for the head of the golem, as the closer to the middle of the face you get, the less damage the golem will take, and the more torpor it will gain! Missing after a confirmed headshot is completely fine, as it will take hours for the torpor inflicted with one cannon ball to completely drain so take your time and cleanly make your shots! This knockout process is optional if you have something else in mind feel free to give it a shot! Once it’s finnaly unconscious (witch I would consider a feat in and of itself) it’s time to start the taming process, it’s just one step then wait for it to tame, just put the kibble in its inventory and go do something else until it tames! Now you have yourself a sturdy and tanky tame! Here’s some info on what they are commonly used for; Pvp In this game mode this is a GREAT and effective way of soaking turret damage, also in this case they are a walking catapult, they can throw rocks and do about the same dmg as a catapult! Pve, great base defenders as they can like in pvp, soak a lot of dmg before needing to heal! If encumbered it will use its rock throw unless close enough range to use it’s melee attacks! This guy eats stone or other natural minerals, crystals, obsidian, metal, Etc. I hope this tip helped, happy taming, and Take care!!
These are on Fjordur they can be found in the magmasaur nest in the volcanic biome
Get a Pteranodon then make his following distance on highest then aggro a Rock Elemental, fly high enough so he cant damage the Pteranodon and jump down the pteranodon and use parachute.
Now place the Cannon, make the right settings and shoot on the head of the rock elemental.
The Rock Elemental will do nothing because he is aggro on the Pteranodon.
You have to hit it in the head to knock it out... or you'll end up with a dead lvl 145 after wasting 20 cannon balls.
There are lot in the chalk cliffs in velguro
Up if this helped.
