If you can’t find a Rhyniognatha, its not that they aren’t in your game, from another comment I have seen. They have rare spawns like the Carchar and Giga and require you to clear out the area (The swamp on the Island, and same thing with Lost Island) to find them, and then wait at least an hour for them to spawn.

WARNING: do not engage me and my dad were playing, and i had been killed by a Titanoboa, and he tried to get away and that when he attacked he was on an argy and had my pterodactyl following him, it pursued him for about 10 minutes but, miraculously it got distracted and it lost interest, the argy lived and the pterodactyl was nearly dead. Be careful!!

Encountered this hideous monstrosity of a creature on The Island, in the dark! When you’re the sweet, unsuspecting survivor just flapping along on your pteranodon and then all of a sudden, out of the freaking nowhere, SMACK SMACK SMACK! What the…!?!?!? It’s a giant bug, flying fast and attacking faster! My poor Terrie is lashing out for her little Ptera life and mine. Have to fight because we can’t outrun the beast! We land, I hop off Terrie and we’re not able to do much because we’re SAPPED! Dang giant bug shoots burning sticky sap crap! I finally managed to get my pike out and stabbed the life out of this new “Dino”…but I tell ya, Terrie and I are a bit bug shy now!

My tip: fly with an OP flyer!

Good luck finding these. They’re rare and only spawn on the island near the swamp and redwoods and on lost island in the swamp. Happy searching :)

Im on playstation ark singleplayer, i still havent found a single one, where can i find them on the island?

For everybody dealing with bad spawns, they seem to count as giga class creatures, so gigas and carchars will take up their spawns even if they aren't in the same location. Kill the giga or carchar and fly to the swamp shortly after to have a decent chance at triggering a spawn. If you kill a rhynio and need another one, fly out of the swamp and avoid mountains to avoid spawning a giga or carchar and then fly back. This works best on island but works on lost island as well. Keep in mind that titanosaurs don't count as there will always be one on the map.

They’re DANGEROUS if you’re on a flyer. Only way to lose their agro is by trying to pass it to another creature. On land though, a mid-high level rex or spino will do the trick at killing these F***ers. Just make sure you have a gun with plenty of ammo to take them down in case they stay out of your mount’s attack range at low health. Also bug repellent works on them.

They’re somewhat rare on pc but VERY common on ultimate mobile.

oh broo one day i was a beach bob i went on my petra to the redwoods to check out the new thylas next thing u know theres this giant bug with crab claws killed my petra killed me lost all my stuff but later once that beach bob became a good player i went back tamed a thyla left it at base pulled up on that exact same one and just pumped it full of bullets later i made a carcha army and went to the swamp and just killed em all got like 34 pheramones and made the females pump eggs into my brontos now i have a small army of these bugs :)

It is very fast, be very careful when you fly on spawns, minimum needs for ptera so it can outrun it is ~500 stamina and 170% speed, if your ptera is 180% or above don’t be scared, also it can attack you while you ride something, you should fly lover to the ground so you can use terrain or use paracers to lure rhynio on them, don’t EVER try to kill them with ptera, it’s literally impossible in any way imaginable, use strong dinos with much attack, lure them on you and go closer to them until they’ll attack you in melee and then you can easily kill it. I dont even know how these things are considered rare, I once got chased by 3 of them AT ONCE. Rip to the poor stego that sacrificed for me to escape

Found one of these accidentally on lost island near the swamp by red wood and they’re hard to miss but pretty easy to kill if your using a dinopethicus
