Tips & Strategies

What are tips for rhyniognatha? Tips and strategies for rhyniognatha in ARK: Survival Ascended & Evolved.
Okay, so I’ll relate my taming experience!
I really want a rhynio, and I didn’t need a super high level at first, so I pretty much just trapped the first female I could find: a light brown level 10 female.
I used the trapping method used by CobraGaming on YouTube… 4x stone foundation, stone double doorways and stone ceilings, effectively funneling the Rhynio into the giant fly trap. I impregnated a level 101 bronto and then just sat it for 45 minutes until it died… with no rhynio.
I did a backup save and went sixteen minutes back into the incubation period and after a bit of research, I realized it was because my bronto had no food, so I forcefed my bronto for the next fifteen minutes until the rhynio emerged, this time. I met zero cravings, since I don’t have the resources, and I came out with a level two male. The one great thing is how unbelievably pretty this bug is… bright pink and purple stripes with salmon legs, and red and black striped wings… weird, cause it’s mom was brown and it’s “dad” (male Rhynio I got the pheromone from) was light blue.
I did all this with a high level argy and spino on watch, since the swamps are NOT safe, so bring strong tames that will protect you, you incubator dino, and your new super-mosquito baby.
I plan to create a higher level baby soon, but this is what I’ve got as a first try! Im excited to try this bug out. It’s funny, I hate these things when they’re wild so much, but I’m totally happy to have one for myself.😂
These things need a nerf. They killed my spino and me. It was only level 3 too. So dumb
This thing killed all my flying mounts early game when i was looking for an argy. They are relatively rare and spawn in/around the redwoods. They are like thylas, dont fly too close to the redwoods or your flyers will be dead RIP. full story of how i lost my otter on otter tips i think
Not v hard to tame not even hard its mid hard only here is my setup to get a low level one easily ( 6000 hp rex 1 long neck rifle 1 bow or cross bow 30longneck bullets some arrows ) kill a male one with ur rex or ling neck lure another one to a safe place with an argy where ur rex is in let it hit ur rex set ur rex to passive and shot it with longneck and bow until it is at 10% hp ( u can do the math ur self ) then wait till ur rex is infected by the rhynio and it run away and full its craving till the timer ends it can ask v v ordinary and rare things also its ur. Choice to feed or not effecrs the level that will come out from baby one then just see ur rex die ( DONT HIT IT IT DOSDNT SPEED UP THE PROCESS) then here u got a rhynio baby take care of it and u got a monster who can carry half ur base in its inventory and carry good dinos and big ones also like diplodouces rexes spino ( no bronto no bigger than that )
I was trying go in to the redwoods to tame a Thylacoleo but it scared me and out of fear i ran my pt out of there but the rhynio caught up and killed my pt Rip Pharry🫡
Looks so cool! Can’t wait to see what this thing can do in-game
(Don’t try this) me and my tek raptor tekey were rubbish through the swamp because one just killed my pelagornis and I got jumped my two of them both level 12 and somehow my tek raptor level 77 killed them both and then I died💀
Lvl 20 female impregnated my 406 base level rex, completed 4 feedings. My lvl 92 hatchling has 10,9k hp and 373% melee before imprinting.
Yes they are faster than your pteranodon... Once they spot you there is no going back to your base with your dino and loot. And I strongly suggest not to do that... If you manage to keep yourself safe and you lead them to your base... Then its time to reset and start a new world.
If you plan to fly through the swamp with something like a Pterandon or an Argy, I'd highly suggest to gain altitude and fly at that height until you've crossed the swamp because these things are not only strong as heck, they're also FAST, so fast that they can catch up to Pterandons. I've lost about two tames on it.
MOBILE VERSION
Killing these are actually much easier than you think
All you need is a decent journeyman crossbow loaded with like 10 trank arrows
Dismount and just start shooting it (make sure to not stand still)
They are very easy to knockout and then just kill it
But make sure your mount has more than 800-1000
Hp
Two taped with an argy, argy level 150 Ryno level 135

Why tf do these things shoot fireballs. I lost my first pterodactyl to this thing and then I died to fall damage. Safe to say that I deleted that world and will never go to the swamp ever again unless I have something with an ungodly amount of health and damage.
I was chasing after an otter in the swamps west of the Redwoods, then started searching the trees on my Argy and wound up face-to-face with a Rhynio. It scared the absolute sh*t out of me, these are by far one of, if not the scariest creature in the game because they stay hidden and laying in wait in the trees to ambush you. Of course I flew off and it started chasing us, but thankfully I read another tip on here that said if you fly under a Paracer, it will lose the chase! It worked and me and Rufio are still alive to tell the tale. Flyer beware.
On ark mobile ultimate. Upon continues taming trying to get a high level. I have come up to a conclusion that levels and cravings matter. I used a lvl224 bronto around 30k health then impregnate it with a lvl130 rhynio. My baby rhynio(evil orange) comes out to be LEVEL 176.
1st craving : ammonite bile
2nd craving : absorbent substrate (i think, can't remember the name that well)
3rd craving : golden hesperornis egg
4th craving : extraordinary kibble
5th craving : another absorbent substrate
Hope this helps.
