Use something with a lot of health to tame it. Diplo works great then lower its health with a pump shotgun

Here’s how I tamed one. You create a behemoth gated cage with stone door frames for bars and ceilings to box it up (I had to use creative mode to do that). And make sure you add a double door for your pteranodon to go through. Because once you find the bug monster (make sure it’s female), let it chase you and go through the double door to trap the bug. She cannot shoot through the bars, and while she was busy attacking the cage, close the behemoth gate quickly and you trapped her.

Once you have the pheromone (from killing the male) ready, I used it on my woolly rhino (make sure it’s female), and kept shooting the bug with both my primitive and apprentice bow till her health’s at 10%, she impregnated my rhino, and boom (RIP my rhino), baby came out after a while. You claim and imprint the baby and there you go.

They’re DANGEROUS if you’re on a flyer. Only way to lose their agro is by trying to pass it to another creature. On land though, a mid-high level rex or spino will do the trick at killing these F***ers. Just make sure you have a gun with plenty of ammo to take them down in case they stay out of your mount’s attack range at low health. Also bug repellent works on them.

They’re somewhat rare on pc but VERY common on ultimate mobile.

Tip from bad experience..once your Dino is impregnated it’s health and food will drop at a specific rate so that it will deplete exactly as the timer ends and you can’t heal it above that specific cap…but if you don’t feed it the last little bit it can totally die from ticking a hunger instead of the juvenile hatching so makes sure you have food sorted out near the end

Or you can just be logged off when it hatches and log in after the timer expires to claim

Found one of these accidentally on lost island near the swamp by red wood and they’re hard to miss but pretty easy to kill if your using a dinopethicus

Totally worth it, the best tame in “the island” (do be prepared, for it is expensive, time consuming, and takes some preparation to have one) first, get a triceratops (can be any level, preferably 100+), obtain a rhyniognatha pheromone by killing one rhyniognatha , then obtain a quetzal so you can carry the triceratops away when you are done, due that if you cryopod it with the larva it will remove it, do what you must do to bring a wild female rhyniognathta to low HP, somewhere around 10-20% of its health (see blood in body, use shotgun or fabricated pistol ), hit it enough times until it prepares a attack with its tail and rushes at you, that’ll be the egg laying, then carry the trike to your base, there, it should take 8 hours to hatch, killing the trike in the process (make sure you are prepared for the most funky and wacky cravings by the triceratops, I haven’t tested it yet but it should affect level by 25lv/craving, they occur in an hour each), the maturation for rhyniognatha shouldn’t be more than 2-3 days, afterwards it’s fully grown, you can fly with it, faster than most, if not all flying tames, doesn’t waste much energy, has 1500 carry weight , and is optimal against alpha carnos/raptors of all levels, also kitting giga/carcha (all these measures where made with Traz, the 50 level born male rhyniognatha, currently level 101), most importantly, make sure you have a sap farm ready by the red woods , due that your new buddy will consume a lot of it and turn it into raisin that can be shot as three different projectiles and be turned into armor, upgrade life, melee damage and mostly stamina , it can carry yutys, rexes, and smaller creatures (use this at your advantage , due that the rhyniognatha has incredible flying speed). Wait can you pick platform paracers? If I can I could put auto turrets on it and mounted turrets then you can put seats down if there’s no more space and get 10+ people on the paracer and you can now drop tones of players into the enemy’s base or have them stay there to rain bullets on the enemy 0_0. I hope you can do this because how funny it would be to get raised by one lol.

They can pick up magmasaurs! Also set it to follow underwater, otherwise they'll float to the surface when you dismount/get dismounted

You can load the pheromone into the ark data at the obelisk. This way you can bounce around to different servers looking for higher level females.

Mine glitched and showed me a different food than it wanted (showed last feeding). Put both what it actually wanted (tribe member able to see what it wanted) and what i could see what it wanted and was able to feed it

Creatures that work best are Gigas, Carchar’s, Bronto’s and Megachelon’s. Long of the short of it is, the higher the drag weight the better!!

It can take the stats from the host Dino. So if you have overly mutated gigas or carchas use those. Also drag weight of the host effects the stats of the baby.

This is Now the BEST FLYER in Ark!!!!!!!!!! It can swim underwater, it shoots neetles and fires bombs and haming missiles, it is fast and can pick up more variety of creatures than a quetz and as many structures as an exo mek!!!!!!!!!

When getting multiple dinos impregnated make sure to net and check the Rhyns HP before each attempt (using a magnifying glass). It replenishes its health fairly quickly. Make sure to bring low damage weapons like a prim hatchet to bring its health down if a weapon shot will kill it.

Do not cryopod an impregnated dino as this will cancel the pregnancy.
