You need a tall frock and a bird to get on top of it and shoot it and when it comes shoot the tail and it’s super easy.

Easiest, cheapest method to knock out any level Rex is simply build 1 stone foundation,3 walls and 2 doorframes(no reinforced doors needed)....place the foundation down and the 3 walls in a U shape on the foundation then in the gap put 1 doorframe and the other doorframe on top....Then run up to the Rex tickle its balls and once u have Agro make a dash for your contraption run through the doorframe....Spin around, go into crouch and start firing tranq darts at it through the door frame( don't worry it won't be able to bite you as the doorframes are 2 walls high) This works on gigas too but go 3 wall high on door frames and use metal instead of stone. I tamed most of my rex’s on gen 2, I recommend this bc you can just fly a bit above them and just shoot them knocking them out then feeding them prime meat and some narcotics. Gen 2 is good bc you get a free tek suit you can use witthout getting the temgrams

I highly recommend using 4 stone gateways, large bear trap and narcotic.

Remember to bring lots of food when taming

Want taming this in early game?. Just use crosbow with tranq arrow, find high cliff, and keep shooting. No trap, no chain bola or etc, just run in case if this guy try to escape from u (u r faster more than them). It takes 12 shoots with 3 miss on me (free aim not only head shoot). Put at least 100 raw meat on its inventory, and also 15 nacrotics just in case this guy wanted to wake up earlier. G L

These guys are kinda hard to tame but this is for mobile players,you'll need a cross bow and a hell lot of tranq arrows,the higher the level the more arrows you need but this is also for low level players and try taming a low level rex as well,if you don't have enough stuff scope it from afar rexes aren't super fast like spinos,or use the terrain to knock it out,that's how I tamed my spino Aurora,otherwise use a trap,knock it out and feed it exceptional kibble or scorpion kibble on mobile,use a soothing bam for easier taming if this was helpful ^ pls:D

If you build a cage 3 high of stone doorways and then put a ramp up into the cage, then you just fly over over it with him chasing you.

Took a flyer to high ground. Knocked out with crossbow and tranq arrows until passed out. May need a few stacks and wait...patiently. Got a lvl 7. PVE

I was going to tame a spino and successfully I tamed it by shooting from a cliff nearby then after putting the food I saw a rex closely and then with my bryonx I again climbed the cliff and shoot a few more tranc arrows I was not planning to tame it but since it went unconscious I used 3× smoothing bam and I got my spino and rex at the same time and I only used 44 tarnc arrows which also included a few misses. And now I not afraid of any dino on the island.

Some say build a trap. I say cut costs and find a cliff.

Find a high place to start

Bring the Rex over here

Tranq it in fear

Give it some prime meat

It will grow to

Know you.

Get a griffin and shoot tranq rex it’s easier that way

taming a rex isn’t easy…

from my experience, here is how to do it:

1) PREPARATION

assuming you found one, there is a bit of preparation to be done, you need at least 30 tranq arrows (give or take a few, due to levels).

- get a crossbow, if not get a bow, the important thing is that the weapon you chose is compatible with tranq arrows.

-next, for tameing, you will need to harvest bio toxin from mitocondrias (blue belly fish found in the sea). this will raise the torpor level if it is running low, and it will avoid losing the rex after having knocked it out.

-get a lot of meat (3 stacks should do the trick, but it really depends on the level), this will allow the tameing bar to fill up: as you have probably guessed, it is not vegetarian…

2) K.O (knock the rex out)

-get the ranged weapon you are using and put it in your hot bar, then open your inventory, and drag the tranq arrow to the same slot as the ranged weapon. This will select the tranq arrow as the ammo for that weapon. If you hold the weapon in your hand, it should say something along the lines of

(weapon name)(tranq arrows loaded/number of tranq arrows)(tranq arrows)

eg, if you had a crossbow with 30 tranq arrows, it would say

crossbow (0/30) tranq arrow, unless if the arrow is loaded.

To knock out the rex, you want to find a cliff near it, and get to the top (a flying mount may be helpful). Now, just wait until it is close enough to shoot accurately, then fire away with your tranq arrows. If it starts running away, hop down the cliff, and continue shooting it (only do this if it runs out of range!!). repeat until it gets knocked out.

3) TAMEING:

careful not to hit it again, get to the rex and open its inventory, then put all the meat and bio toxin in its inventory.

from this point on, patience is required…

If you notice that the torpor level is dangerously low, feed it the bio toxin, it will raise the torpor level by 80, but, oddly enough, won’t harm the rex in any way. If the remaining meat spoils, or you run out of it, you might want to harvest more before it wakes up. when it wakes up, if you managed to tame it, it will tell you in a prompt, otherwise, you didn’t manage, and you should run as fast as possible in the other direction.

NOTES:

-tranq arrows need the mortar and pestle to craft, since you need to create narcotic (narcoberrys + spoiled meat), then combine it with stone arrows.

-a primitive bow may break before you can fully K.O the rex, so bringing two or three might be a good idea

You can build a pit fall trap using stone walls make and a ramp in to it make sure there’s a Dino gate somewhere in the trap so you can escape and tame the beast

To be honest, I tamed 2 Rex's and one of them was hard to get because it was under the snow

So if you wanna tip on taming a rex quicker without anything except a weapon?

Get it stuck or climb up high enough so it can't reach you

Then Tranq it (50-100+ arrows) then if you want to save time

I just used a bow,arrows(Tranqs),mate and a few narcotics.

1 grab A pterosaur 2 hit it 3 lead it into paddock 4 shoot with tranqs 5 give cooked prime meat X12

The cheapest trap for rex are the traps of the other players around.

Just walk around the trap instead of trapping it the trap.

If it flees catch it up and shoot, it will turn around and get agro again and then do the walk around trap thing again.

I prefer tranq darts, with arrows u need a ton
