these guys are scary early game, but i can tell you right now these guys arent hard to tame.

i literally just tamed a level 14 by flying up to a big rock and shooting her with arrows, passed out in no time. i have to wait another like 13 levels until i can ride her though

They are so easy to tame because they are idiots so just stand on a cliff and knock ‘em out for they won’t move or try get to you

So uh, i attempted to tame one, it went down okay, it had 102hp left, i fed it some narcotics, as i was gathering narco berries when a random theri spawned on my boat right next to the downed Rex and chunky (my sarco) so of course it attacked my sarco and killing the Rex in crossfire, and yeah I killed that theri with my bare hands for it. So please when you go to tame one of these, stay close and watch out for theri’s.

You’ll be fine with taming this as long have you have high ground, their roars don’t have any effect on you or other animals, so don’t worry about that. Bring about 150 tranq arrows and get onto a high rock (I couldn’t find one so I just stood on top of some random server players tower and shot at it from there) and just continuously shoot at it, then once it starts running you might have to get onto the ground and chase after it, still shooting at it, until it’s finally knocked out.

If you just so happened to be taming this thing in the chalk cliffs on valguero like me, make sure there are no armadillos or ankylos around the Rex , because if the Rex gets knocked next to a herd of them, they will all start to attack the unconscious Rex and all of your hard work goes down the drain. Their torpor goes down pretty slowly and I didn’t need any narcos, but I reccomend bringing a few just in case.

These things are so easy to tame, i tamed about 5 of them

How to tame:

- Get a crossbow

- Get tranq arrows (40-100)

- Find a rex

- You don’t need a trap, a fast dino can outrun them (Dino’s like Iguanodons, Raptors etc.)

- Knock it out

- Tame it (Even Raw Meat will tame it, it takes longer. I recommend using prime meat)

- And boom you got a Rex

Use a 4x4 stone platform with 2 high stone door frames all around make a ramp on one side and lead it in. Enjoy your Rex.

In the artic I saw a Rex on some ice there was two I sniped one and killed it right above them there was a flat cliff I got a Rex from snipping it on the cliff we’re it can’t get me

I tamed my rex using a crossbow and 40 tranqs. I had really high level speed which I used to outtrun it and keep shooting it. It did kill my favorite trike on the way though so rip.

Honestly I had more trouble taming a dire Wolf than this guy. Just find a cliff and tranq him. I was at a low level and used tranq arrows (level 32). If you are a noob, I believe in you!

Place 3 dino gates in a |_| formation, agro it with a flyer, fly over you gates the land so it goes into it, then from your mount place the 4th dino gate behind it. vwalla.. you have it trapped. xrex take more darts/arrows to KO. so bring extra

1:tame a few scorps

2:make kibble

3:tame a 150 with kibble

4:up only health and you got your self a turret tank better then a turtle

If you're having a taming pen made out of stone (or else) on a WOODEN raft, don't use it for a rex.

It's great for a LOT of dinos, but a high level rex will destroy your raft to dust (and all structures attached to it, no matter what they are made of) before you knock him out.

Tutorial on how to tame a Rex without trap:

1.find it

2.make it follow you and jump to the high ground

3.make sure the Rex won't be able to walk up to that high ground

4.shoot it with a lot of tranq arrows (crossbow recommended)

5.it gets unconscious and you can buy a minor soothing balm in consumables of amber shop which costs 10 ambers

6.feed it raw or raw prime meat or raw meat (you don't need to use any narcotics if you used the minor soothing balm or feeding it raw prime meat without any soothing balm)

7.congrats,you tamed a Rex.

good tame for bosses use 14 stone pillars for a easy trap

They are fast but can’t get on tall rocks

is anybody else out there always having an spyglass looking at the tranq amount then gets the arrows plus 3-5 and boom

so for the standard tranq arrow u can look at it and make like each arrow 100 so for something with 2309 u need 23 and then plus the extra it’s around 26-28

i often use tot this way bc i kinda live on an raft with my triceratops and an otter but so while the otters food always get bad bc fish, i can just jump on edgar(the triceratops) and get the berries needed but when i’m finally high enough i will use intoxicating arrows except for small breed or things with low health

Spin wide circles around it it’s turning radius is horrible so you can get tranqs off on it

I was about to be killed but my spike barriers helped so much they were the wooden ones up if this helped to kill the rex

I dont think its torpor drain rate can be considered as high, i think its more like average

Easiest, cheapest method to knock out any level Rex is simply build 1 stone foundation,3 walls and 2 doorframes(no reinforced doors needed)....place the foundation down and the 3 walls in a U shape on the foundation then in the gap put 1 doorframe and the other doorframe on top....Then run up to the Rex tickle its balls and once u have Agro make a dash for your contraption run through the doorframe....Spin around, go into crouch and start firing tranq darts at it through the door frame( don't worry it won't be able to bite you as the doorframes are 2 walls high) This works on gigas too but go 3 wall high on door frames and use metal instead of stone.
