I tamed one of this on accident. I was going to lvl up thylacoleo and rex attacked me and i ran away and i climbed on a cliff and i was shooting him with crosbow and tranq arrows and yeah. I have a rex.

Here’s a tip try to go to a mountain area where the red can’t clime and spam him with tranq arrows works every time for me good luck!

First built a structure of rock walls and climate it with the help of stairs and break stairs from downward rex can't climb and hit it with crossbow or gun to knock it out.

An easy way to knock one out with a friend.

Take your flyer and carry your friend, fly high enough so that the Rex can’t reach you or your friend, but also so that they can shoot at the Rex. Get your friend to shoot at them with whatever tranq, I did it with about 8 tranq arrows and a normal bow but you might need more.

If you’re playing solo though I suggest leading the Rex under a rock ledge, land on the ledge and shoot at it till it gets knocked. Or you could just run at it and try to knock it fast but I’d rather play it the safe way.

Find a cliff that it can’t climb, get the high ground and shoot it with tranqs.

If you're playing the island, expect to find your first rex that's worth taming on day fifty. It'll have 13000 food and end up not worth taming.

u can tame them already on lvl 21. just get 2 of Bows and 40 tranqs for around 10 level rex. climp on heigh stages so it can reach you and just hit him with tranqs till he runs away. get after him and hit him again but font go to close otherwise he snaps u with 2 bites

If you have decent movement speed just sprint around it and shoot it it won’t catch you

If you trying to tame it like a real man you walk up to it hit it with a club and then lead it off a cliff then you use your crossbow.

You can use metal billboards and a bear trap.

I find that the best way to knock these out is to get a quetzal and stand on the platform while in the air. It has basically no sway so aiming will be easy plus you can bring along a ballista to keep it still with the chain bola. Be sure to bring some cooked prime meat :)

If you have a good speed stat it’s fairly easy to knock it out. Just run n gun and you can knock it out. No traps are needed as long as you can keep a distance while shooting.

Get on a cliff that the rex can’t reach and tranq the s#&* out of it.
