Who ever thinks Rex are not stealthy they are wrong I was trying to tame a para when this thing comes out of nowhere

I would think these were gonna be harder to tame but they’re actually not that hard, my stamina and movement speed is pretty high I’d say around 200 or higher but I didn’t need a trap or any of that, all I used was tranq arrows, u shoot it once then run away for a little bit turn around quick shoot it again then run away again and shoot it again and repeat, if it starts running it means it’s almost knocked out just chase after it and keep shooting and feed it meat!

So there's a glitch in both games where there's a rock glitch

The rock glitch works like this

1st you find a rock

Make sure you can't sprint or walk up the rock

Make sure you can easily jump up and climb the rock

Look for something you want to tame

Get club ( clubs are harder or extreme mode to tame) or tanq ( easy mode) or anything you can use to kill

Find the rex then run up the rock ( PS: this works for any other animal including spinos)

The rex shouldn't be able to run up the rock so you can safely hit him or shoot him also melee is impossible any melee weapon is dangerous and I suggest you don't use them (why: they can still hit you and when they do you get knocked off the rock and have to run) also make sure the rock is big and tall or else they can walk on it

Pt 2 coming at 50 ups

If you see one, and are trying to fight or knock it out, i recommend going to a ledge above the rex, which in where it spawns can happen, make sure to use a good level longneck or other powerful tool if you want to kill one, and relocate if it gets close (they are not too fast). To knock one i recommend tranq arrows or darts (arrows if you have a good crossbow, they cheaper) and if you knock it just feed it prime meat or mutton, wait and then you get a Rex. If you have a tame that can outrun it you could relocate much easier

Rexes actually do 15% more damage to herbivores. Credit goes to another tip that said rexes do extra damage to herbivores. (Author note: Idk what the plural or Rex is so I just added es)

Honestly I’m the odd one out... I tamed one with a journey bow and a dire bear. No gates no platforms nothing. Just a bow a bear and patients. Hmph I’m weird

If you want to tame this massive behemoth it’s pretty slow and you should be able to knock it out from it but if you want to trap it; I recommend one of captain fatdogs videos

The safest way to find and tame a rex is to go to the winte- south zone 2 "alley" with the river that intersects into a swamp and another river that eventually goes to green ob

If you are playing casually and you pass through this area a lot one should spawn because it isn't rare for them to spawn here.

If you find a rex and it sees you it will start to prioritize you for a moment but if you have enough tranqs and movement speed you can run far enough away from it so that it will attack something else instead, then you can tranq while it is attacking the other creature.

If you don't you can just use a pternadon or anything thats faster than a trex then just dismount to tranq.

After you knocked it out you can get prime meat from stegos, diplos, or carnos that spawn in this area.

They can hurt

Rexes can be found in the forests, redwoods, and mountains.

Don't go near them without a plan learned the hard way

1. Get a scorpion, kapro or 600 tranq arrows

2. Only upgrade health on the scorpion!!

3. Attack while riding scorpion or use tranq arrows.

4. Make sure you have meat- prime meat works best!

5. Shove food in it's mouth

Since rexs are the second best land carnivore (behind giga) I would recommend just leveling it for PvP. Like on all my 150 kibble tame rexs I go for 10k health then 500 melee damage and then put the rest of my levels back and forth between health and damage.

PS: A good 2nd-5th gen Rex can and will kill tamed gigas

Easiest tame ever u need 15 to 50 tranq arrow depending on level and a 700 hp iguadon or gallmis (seriously) with a crossbow run and hit him till knocked out feed it anything u got wait here is ur rex and after u get 2 u have a infinite rex factory ( a spino is better but harder than this to tame in early time)

Dont be scared of them, get a flyer and make sure to have a high health and stamina, fly at him (make sure its only one or your dunso) and let him take a bite of your flyer once in a while then lead him into a square wall of dino gates with a trap in it. Once he is stuck quickly close up the open gate, laugh at him and shoot him (alot)

How to raise and tame a good Rex

1. Use crossbow with tranq arrows or rifle with tranq darts

2. Find the Rex a tough opponent to defeat

3. While he or she is fighting, open fire on the king or queen

4. Once the Rex is down feed it prime meat alongside with normal meat in case you run out of prime

5. Use narcotics on higher levels bio toxin might be needed.

6. Once the Rex awakens take them hunting for large dinos and bosses too but they have to be extremely high level

7. When leveling up switch between health and dmg upgrades

If you can tame a few, keep them near the wyvern ravine and lure all the wyverns over to them, one tamed one can take on about 4, this worked for me very well

There easy tames no traps needed just use a tranqs and crossbow rifle optional

Step 1.get a bow or crossbow

Step 2.get a crap ton of trank arrows

Step 3.find a rex

Step 4. Find a cliff that the rex can’t climb

Step 5. Lur the rex to the cliff

Step 6.shoot the rex until it is knocked out

Step 7. Feed the rex raw meat/prim meat

Step 8. Enjoy Your rex

No real men knock it out with a club
