To tame high level 125+ use metal taming pen
Stop being cheap n use metal
P.s. Destroy ur taming pens So u dont despawn resources tip 2 at least leave it unlocked so the next guy can use it
Recently tamed two Rexes at the same time. Here’s a few tips to make sure if you’re trying to tame these boss killing beasts with best results:
1.Make sure you bring the proper weapons and enough tranq arrows/darts and narcotics to make sure you can successfully subdue your target
2. Given your surroundings are accommodating, find a higher elevation where it, or they in my case, cannot reach you
3.If you don’t have a high enough elevation where they can’t reach you, either build a trap like you would for a Giga, or build a 3x3 stone foundation with stone doorframes stacked three high as well as 9 ramps with enough space to be able to quickly shoot your chosen Rex unconscious (you can find the video to build the trap on YouTube created by MissVadams, it’s titled Rex Taming: Beginners guide)
3.Once you have the proper placement for everything, use a flyer to aggro your chosen Rex and have it chase you to your desired location, then you can light it up with tranqs and knock it out
4. Traps/higher did the job to help capture it? Excellent!!! Now start the taming process by feeding it Exceptional kibble, prime meat, or even raw meat, it should do the job nicely just so long as you watch its torpor, if it gets too low for your comfort, start giving it the narcotics.
5. Congratulations, now you have an absolute unit for an ally who you will bring along on many adventures! Hope this helps someone along the way on their adventure through the vast Ark

Okay, in my opinion, rexes are overhyped and is a bit of a pushover. I will explain why, and you don’t have to agree with me, I’m personally saying why I don’t really like them and what dinos are better in my opinion.
A - Rexes have abysmal dps. Generally, wild ones(not sure about tamed ones, haven’t used one) bite approximately once every 1-2.5 seconds, which is very low. Scorpions, raptors, therizino and heck, even a gallimimus has better dps than that and I didn’t even include the majority of dinos that have better dps than rexes.
B - Slowness. They are far to slow to escape any danger when low and can be easily shot down or just chased down by just about anything faster than a triceratops.
C - Not tanky enough for its dps and slowness. It just doesn’t have the hp to back up its low dps and speed and can be taken down by just about anything with around 600 hp and high dps(2-4 bites per second) with 20 damage or more. Dinos that can actually pull off this play style and have enough hp for it are ankylosaurus, basilosaurus, mosasaurus, doedicurus, woolly rhino and more.
D - Very low versatility. It’s only viable against low dps land tanks, swarms of low attack dinos and just about nothing else. It can’t swim well at all, it can’t fly and has no range attack, it’s too slow to be a rush down dino, doesn’t have enough damage to take down the toughest of tanks and just overall, not very good against anything else. Dinos that are more versatile than the Rex, similar size and have better matchups are the spinosaurus, therizinosaur, mammoth(sort of), woolly rhino and probably more I forgot about.
E - Not very useful for anything other than PVP/PVE. It doesn’t gather any materials particularly well other than meat and hide, isn’t a good travel tame due to its speed and very low agility due to size, can’t carry anything so it can’t be a transport tame and so on.
Okay, that concludes my reasons on why I personally do not like the Rex. I could very well be wrong about all of this, as it’s just based on my own observations and experience. I would personally recommend therizinosaur, spinosaur, woolly rhino, arthropluera, allosaurus, baryonyx and dimetrodons(plural, as they are best in swarms) as replacements of sorts instead of a Rex. That’s just my opinion though, so you don’t have to listen to me.
I very easily tamed one when i was level 54 they are very good
Use tek rexes or main Rex for bosses they ain’t to hard to tame go near Carno island or sometimes in snow
To the person who put “
Nobody:
Everybody: uses traps and stuff
Me: uses cliff”
That is an insult
Actually Me: uses health and stamina, tranq arrows, cooked fish meat, and the black berries for fun :)
This has nothing to do with the rex, but get this to 2021 likes so we have a %50 chance to get a good new year
Luring a Rex into a taming box built on a raft is my favorite way to go. A Dino gate at one end and a ramp leading up with walls two high let's you tranq the Rex from a safe distance and you can transport the tame to a safer location than where other rexes spawn. Stone walls and foundations are a must. A good flyer is helpful as well.
Rexes are easy to tame prepare around 20 traq arrows and a stack of raw meat first find your Rex then get on a big and steep rock to or somewhere the Rex can’t climb then start shooting until it’s knocked out then put the stack of meat in the inventory and wait until it gets tamed rexes don’t need narcotics and will probably be okay if you leave it alone unless the area your in has a spino or other big carnivores
I have two in ark mobile so pretty easy to tame after you think about it after awhile one named raspberry blackish/blue strawberry red/green very useful don’t have a saddle yet I’m only level 61 rn and btw I’m only 11 and going to make a YouTube channel soon so if you find it please support me dragon puppeteer/gamer/artist/asmr oh and it only took me a few hundred tranq specifically don’t mess up or you loose the Dino arrows anyway hope this helped ;)
