Chapter 4-
The sun beat down on Tealfeather's skin. Slowly she pried open her eyes. A barren, sandy landscape stretched out as far as her keen eyes could see. A group of slow, lumbering creatures shuffled across her field of vision. Whatever plants there were were small and tough-looking. A small patch of spiky, tall, green plants stood a little away. Driven by a fierce hunger that had developed while she was unconscious, she took off toward the slow dinosaurs and pounced on the smallest of the group. It bellowed in pain, much like a parasaur, and tried to shake her off. Tealfeather hung on and bit another creature who was charging at her. It whimpered and fled, and Teal dug her claws deeper into the one she had injured initially. It collapsed, not quite dead. The others, seeing there was nothing they could do for the injured creature, fled at a particularly slow pace. Tealfeather could be caught them if she wanted to. She quickly finished off the prey and tore off a large chunk of meat. Liquid trickled from the creature. *Water!* Teal gratefully drank, realising just now how thirsty she was. The water was stored in the creature's hump. It was a good survival strategy. She ate most of the prey, but kept a leg for the rest of the clan. *The rest of the clan...* Teal realised she had no idea where the rest of the clan was. *poor Bronzefeather,* she thought, *he must be FREAKING out.* Tealfeather put the leg down and looked at her surroundings. A minute's walk away was a grove of trees. Maybe the rest of the clan were there. She picked up her prey and started walking in the direction of the trees. There was a bloodcurdling scream from somewhere behind her.
Tealfeather stopped in her tracks. She knew that voice. "Bronze!" she screamed, dropping the prey and running in the direction of the screaming. Bronzefeather was on the ground, being attacked by a flock of Terror Birds. Without thinking, Teal ran headfirst into the battle, knocking two of the birds aside. She chased the last, biting at it until it ran for its life. Bronze had picked himself back up, and was desperately trying to fight off the remaining two terror birds. Tealfeather pounced on one, snapping its neck in a single, smooth movement. She leapt off the corpse of the first bird and ran to help Bronze with the last. As she watched, he knocked it to the ground and bit down on its neck in a killing blow.
The pair stood panting for a while, recovering from the battle. Teal had sustained a few minor wounds, but Bronzefeather was in much worse shape. He was covered in small cuts and blood was flowing freely from a deep gash on his shoulder. "What... was that... about?" Asked Tealfeather.
"I came to find you," he said, as though That was a perfectly rational though to act upon.
Tealfeather sighed and sat down.
"Did you just abandon the rest of the camp?" She asked, appalled.
"Maaaaybe. But I know where they are! Just over there." he replied, pointing to the vast expanse of desert opposite the grove of trees.
As much a Teal was mad at him, she couldn't help thinking that information was quite useful. While they had been talking, Bronze had helped himself to the leg of the odd creature Tealfeather had killed earlier. She grabbed one of the terror birds by its broken neck and motioned for Bronze to do the same. "Show us the way." Teal mumbled around a mouthful of feather.

Chapter 4
From the start, Ember knew something was wrong.
There were prints along the ground. Big prints.
Yutyrannus prints - outside of their natural habitat far north - accompanied by the tracks of a few smaller creatures they decided were the minions this Yutyrannus brought along. Kage was well aware of the power of the Yutyrannus’s call, sending enough intimidation to rally smaller carnivores to their side.
“Oh shoot!” Swiftfoot yelped in panic. Even he realized what this all meant. Ember dashed ahead of them. “We seriously need to get to the camp. C’mon!” She then rushed off into the darkness.
“No kidding, detective.” Pernelle muttered before following after.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The camp where the group resided consisted of ruins of a stone structure, as well as natural resources and light sources salvaged from dead sapiens. In the center of the camp, where the floor was flat, stood a Yutyrannus with glistening white feathers and steel plates on her back, sides, and legs which served as armor. She was accompanied by three Allosaurs, their eyes all turned yellow to show they were under her control.
Behind one of the walls, a brown Baryonyx, a Troodon, and a Purlovia hid out of sight.
The Yutyrannus’s silverish-blue eyes burned into the crimson-gray male Carnotaur she conversed with, who stood firmly without breaking.
“Deriving from all evidence procured from the scene, three low-liver Saurs were involved in the destruction of the Arc Camp.. I presume these may be those youthful acquaintances of yours, Venator.”
The Yutyrannus was Yvennia Frigidfall, one of the intimidating and ferocious commanders of the Bane Empire’s military and almighty sovereign over her northern territory - an entire mountain known as Winter’s Mouth. She was careful to ensure absolutely every single outbreak all over the Island was personally investigated and monitored, and she had no need to worry about threats, for she was almost completely unmatched, having never known defeat against attackers of all kinds… except against a few.
“I know of their hunger for freedom, Yvennia. Like the last incident, I’ll control it.”
The carnotaur was Venator, a decorated war veteran and a caretaker of orphaned Saurs on the south keystone islet. He became a vigilante in the local area, and outbreaks were scarce. If it weren’t for his key role in the preventing of outbreaks against the Bane Empire, Yvennia would’ve killed him on the spot. She had another resolution on her mind.
“They snuck out when you least expected it, Venator. They destroyed the entire camp, killed many new recruits off,” Yvennia snarled. “Thus, I require you to turn in the Saur responsible for this mess.. before it promotes more riots islandwide.”
“You know I cannot do that. At the very least, I could turn myself in,” Venator responded.
“You FOOL. You are astoundingly important to the security in this little radius.”
The towering Yutyrannus heaved a sigh, handing Venator a tiny TEK device. “If you happen to change your mind, contact me within 48 hours.”
Then she and her soldiers departed, leaving Venator in conflict.
Moon here.
SpecialRaptor, I haven’t read all of your stories, but by the ones I have read, I can tell that you are an amazing Fanfictionist! I respect all writers on Dododex who really use their imagination, whether or not the writing is proper. Jointed Mysteries is really good so far! I’m glad you enjoy my stories; I work really hard on them.
While yes, writing can be hard, I have a few tips on making yur story even more loved just by the type of writing style.
1: Paragraphs. This is a major need for stories so nothing gets confused.
Like this!
You just add a few spaces at the beginning of a new subject and/or scene or quote.
2: “Speech.” I’ve noticed you don’t quite do them perfectly, but that is fine!
“This is one example. And—“ if I’m interrupted, make sure the quotation mark is there to show it. “Ta-da!”
3: Detail. When bad things happen,
You
Can
Do
This
If it’s really emotional, to make the readers fell worse. Also Capitals help for the names of creatures, even if it’s just Dodo or Tyrannosaurus rex.
Second example:
But
That
Did not
HAPPEN.
Yeah, anyways, that’s all I wanted to say!
I love yur stories characters btw!
I had a Raptor named Speedway. As I found a cave a Rex came from behind me in shock I told my tribe mate to attack the Rex but then a different tribe picked up Speedway and dropped him to the ground killing him I was super sad and cried. Then I got a feel of anger and rage I grabbed our OP dodo and went to there base as the exited it there argy (the one who dropped speedway) was attacking me I dropped the dodo in one hit the dodo killed the argy and the tribe. After that I made a grave for respect for my raptor Speedyway. Every like = 1 new flower to Speedywas grave.
These guys are AMAZING tho a bit of a pain when encountered unexpectedly. Tamed one lvl 113 and named it Delta. My boi Delta is quite the DPS killed 6 Sarcos while exploring and protected me from wild Raptors. I’m planning to have at least 20 more of these guys. Wish me luck!
I just tranqed a tek stego and as soon as he went down a level 140 alpha came out and killed me. This has been the 5th alpha raptor I’ve seen on this solo ark and I only had just started as well and now it’s camping outside my base.
1 up=1 piece of hope to get him away from my house and pets
(Aberration) I had a raptor lvl 57 and we went on adventures with my brother but once when we were on a adventure I was with a ravenger instead, and since I didn't give my raptor meat when we were going home some text popped up saying: 💀 Minty lvl 57 died! ;( I was so sad bruh. R.I.P minty TvT
Once I had a raptor who's name was speed and we were near my base hunting but speed got unconscious and he was near ocean so when he was unconscious, a stupid parasaur came and accidentally pushed him to ocean then I tried to follow him but he got lost in the ocean and I died. Then I killed the parasaur who pushed him into the ocean. You guys will think it funny but only I can understand it.
My raptor Billy had great stats and whenever we went hunting we would hunt brontos and came out every time with merely a dent but the one time I go into the swamps there were 4 kapros 2 sarcos and 5 titanaboas that attacked me. One of the kapros grabbed me and Billy started attacking, we beat it but then the rest came after me it was a battle for the books, I made it out alive but when I got on my pteradon and went looking for him I whistled follow all but only one creature heard (that was my pteradon) then I got the notification “ your raptor Billy was killed by a sarco” I WAS SO MAD! I killed about everything in that swamp and went home and built him a grave
.R.I.P Billy my best tame
Why therzinosaurs are so stupid and I’m heartbroken and my raptors are dead:
My pack. 1 trike. 2 carboneys. 1 pachy. 1 stego. 2 raptors.
I think that, since they have before, they can kill a therzinosaur. *anh!* Nope! I mean, well, yes, but with a terrible price. My shortsightedness. I MIGHT have had a vision. MIGHT, BECAUSE I REALLY DO HAVE VISIONS SOMETIMES! I also had a bad feeling already. I ignored it. I strike the therzinosaur and see that it’s level 22. WHAT?! WE’RE ALL GOING TO DIE! I see messages, “primitive hat (broken)” and something else, but I never found my second raptor so she’s probably dead. I then see other messages, “Your Triceratops-level die!, level 12 killed a therzinosaur, level 22” and “Your Raptorsaurus III, level 9 was killed by therzinosaur, level 22”. I am heartbroken and I want to kill something, or at least bite my sock. Up please, these are VERY hard times for me. Because, I would have had about 10 raptors total if they hadn’t all DIED! Why no therzinosaur will ever live again, unless I’m really thinking about my pachy, trike, carboneys, and stego. Which is always, because I learn lessons from being heartbroken.
Chapter 12-
(Note: There was an error in Chapter 11. Bloodfeather grabbed Teal's arm, not Bronzefeather)
"What do you want?" Tealfeather hissed, wrenching her arm out of her father's grasp.
"Patrol, now," Bloodfeather replied shortly.
"B-but," Teal stuttered, her gaze turning back to her brother.
"I said patrol! Don't make me ask twice..." Bloodfeather hissed aggressively.
With one last look at Bronzefeather and Greyfeather, Tealfeather turned to Bloodfeather.
"Fine," she muttered darkly.
"Where are we going?" Teal asked, her tone hinting at how annoyed she was. They were roughly ten minutes into the 'patrol' and Tealfeather had no clue where they were going.
"*That* is for me to know... and you to find out." responded Bloodfeather, his voice conveying no emotion.
They rounded a corner, and came face-to-face with another raptor.
The stranger hissed with surprise, and Bloodfeather's vision clouded with rage. The unfamiliar raptor slipped into the shadowy undergrowth and for a moment Teal was certain that her father would chase after him, but instead he took a deep breath and kept walking.
"There's a waterfall over here. I... wanted to show you," Bloodfeather said cheerfully
Teal was taken aback. She thought about how her father would never do this for her, and then immediately felt guilty. *Maybe he changed his mind,* whispered the voice of a younger Tealfeather in the back of her mind.
They came to a cliff and, sure enough, a breathtaking waterfall burst from the sheer rock. It dropped away into a clear lake that eventually led out into the river that ran through the area.
"Wow," she began, "this is really ni-"
She was cut off as Bloodfeather barreled into her, knocking her clean off the cliff.
Freefall was something Teal had experienced once, for a split second, when she fell off the highest rock that around the camp when she was younger. It wasn't soothing she wanted to do again. And as she was knocked off of the cliff, she nearly did. Tealfeather let out a scream and desperately lashed out with her claws. One connected with Bloodfeather, leaving a shallow cut down one side of his face, but another miraculously wedged itself in the space between two rocks.
"Why-" Tealfeather looked Bloodfeather in the eyes and saw pure hatred.
"Have you ever noticed that all siblings are born very close to each other," he began, his voice cold with long-concealed rage," And have you ever noticed how much older Bronzefeather is than you? You're too young to be of the same clutch, he's a whole moon older than you! I had one clutch of eggs. *One*. You're not my daughter. Your father was one of *them*. A rouge. Like Star." He smirked. "Yes, I know what you saw. It doesn't matter now. No one is ever going to find out what really happened to you." He chuckled, and as she watched, Bloodfeather ran his claws down his arm, opening a series of cuts that suggested a fight. "Goodbye Tealfeather."
And with that, he aggressively wedged his claws into the furrows of the rock that Teal desperately clung to and loosened it, causing Teal and the rock to plummet into the fierce waters below.
Chapter 11-
The heat was gone. That was the first thing Tealfeather noticed. The harsh heat if the desert had been replaced with a cool mist blanketing her surroundings. A slow-moving river ran nearby, cutting through the green, albeit dark, plain. Teal assumed it was night, although she couldn't see any stars. Teal drank deeply from the river, almost falling in as a result of the throbbing in every muscle of her body. "Am I... dead?" Teal wondered aloud.
"If you're dead, I'm dead too," a familiar voice said ruefully.
"Greyfeather!?"
Teal spun around just in time to see the majestic cream raptor stalk out of the bushes, a dodo dangling from her jaws.
"You have it," she said, gesturing to the dodo with a nod of her head, "I've already eaten one."
Teal stared at her friend curiously.
"Maybe you're dead too." she said finally. "Goldfeather?" she half-yelled.
Greyfeather winced.
"No, we're definitely alive. *It* happened again, whatever 'it' is. The same thing that happened before. The rest of the clan is over there. I... was one of the first to wake up."
Grey slowly stood from the crouch she had settled in and began to lead Tealfeather back to the rest of the clan.
A growl came from a nearby tree, and Teal saw Bloodfeather standing uneasily on one of the lower branches. "Let all raptors strong enough to attend meet at the base of this tree!" he called.
A small handful of raptors assembled, and Teal saw with a stab of sadness that many were either still sleeping or too weak to come. "As you all know," Bloodfeather began, "my deputy, Mintfeather, was recently killed. It is time for me to appoint a new deputy. For this role, I choose Tawnyfeather."
A murmur of congratulations and sadness swept through the assembled group. It was good that Tawnyfeather would be the new deputy, but the mention of Mintfeather brought sadness to many. He had served his clan until the end, and left behind a partner and two eggs, that had now hatched into Indigofeather and Silverfeather. His death was still a shock.
"It is also time for the partnering of young Bronzefeather. He has grown into a fine young raptor, and from now on his partner shall be Greyfeather." Tealfeather looked up in surprise. She had almost forgotten about Bronzefeather's partnering.
"Greyfeather, Bronzefeather, come here."
The two raptors nervously walked toward their leader.
"I now pronounce you partnered. Congratulations to Tawnyfeather, and these two, of course."
Cheers went through the growing crowd, but no-one was louder than Teal. She pushed her way through the crowd until she was as close as she could get to her two best friends.
"Come with me. Now." said a voice on her left. Bronzefeather grabbed her arm.
