I'm pretty sure you can bait it to come down with honey and then you can just net it or trap it with dino gates and then get to taming it but be careful because other creatures will also get attracted so be sure to bring a decent amount of honey with you.

You can grapple onto them making it much easier

Kill it- take it’s implant. Use revival platform and bola it once revived. Tranq it.

Get a friend pick em up with either and ergy or a petrodon with rly good steam and get to to shoot it in the head you could also try and see if they can jump onto its back and shoot it in the back of the head till it gets knocked out

I’m submitting this for the mobile players as soon as you reach lv 70 and complete the kill argentavis pursit build a revival platform and put a roof on to the revive platform. the quetzal you kill you will farm Amber to revive by date and time the you can finish the job with tranq arrows or tranq darts then tame with red kibble from the food work shop

They spawn near the Grand Canyon and the swampy moat on ragnarok

Make sure to calculate hom much nacotic darts u need to bring one down because it will take alot and if u can bring a cross bow with alot of tranq arrows

Guys, if you can get a buddy make a large cage on the platform saddle and find your quets, YOU HAVE TO AIR break in front of the quets facing it and it will get stuck then your buddy can do it safely, but being stimberrys with you to feed your flying quets to regain stamina I just tamed up a lvl 114 male that way in little then 2 hours

Get 2 players, an argee, a lot of tranq darts or arrows, and some luck. Me and my friend tamed one, we're going tu put a taming cage on it and tame more

Another way to solo tame a quetz is with a fast argy and scorpion, upgrade the Scorpions damage, and set it to aggressive, then get on the argy pick up the scorpion fly up to the quetz and after 1-30 hits (depinding on level multipliers, etc) the quetz is knocked out,

To Knock it out u can use a Flyer and grappling hooks

Best way is to tame a tapejara and fly on the top of it and shoot the quetzal untill it falls

If you have a Gryffon or any other flying mount that you can shoot from while riding, just stay close to it and pelt it with tranq darts/shocking tranq darts. They’re not very fast so they can’t escape a decently fast tame with good stamina.

One word for KOing this thing: Griffin. Super useful creature, the only flier you can use weapons whilst riding. Grab a crossbow and loads of tranqs, find a suitable quetzal, and go crazy! Just watch your stamina though!

If on ragnarock use a Griffin for a easy tame. Driver of the Griffin can shoot a crossbow so it is a possible solo tame

If you have buddies, a good Tapejara can keep up with the Quetzal and angle some really good shots for your friends with it's maneuverability. If not, you can ride a griffin while using a crossbow, hope this helps!
