Get onto a crystal wyvern and feed it crystals from it's back, once tamed, set to follow and when you find a quetz, get off the wyvern, you should be on it's back. From there you should shoot it, get back on the wyvern, and chase it. Repeat this process until tranced out.

The best way I found to tame this ugly thing was to get a griffin and sit in the back seat and whistle attack target and tranq it out but keep whistling at the quetzal or the griffin will fall

Easiest way to tame it alone is by closing distance with a flyer and using a crossbow with hooks to attach to it, then whatever weapon to knock it down.

I’ve already wrote one but because of word limit I couldn’t write more, after you tame the quetz find a high lvl quetz (I prefer 120 or above) and then make a platform saddle for your low lvl quetz, then make a quetz trap and get a high Stam on the low level, then go to where the high level spawned and if it’s not there move towards 50,50 and you should find it, have the high lvl fly into the trap and then close the trap, after that knock the high lvl out and feed it exceptional kibble or mutton to tame. Use a Tapejara, sit down on the Front seat, whistle him to attack the Quetzal... So he will follow the Quetzal, then use your longneck to shoot the Quetzal with shocking tranqdarts... But make Sure, that You are on the Front passender seat, otherwise You woun't Be able to use your longneck (:

If on mobile knock it out then sleep to starve it as it only effect hunger on any dino but not torpore it work on gigs and red

I suggest waiting until your positive your prepared, good fur armor in case it flies into the snow and a decent weapon or mount for protection. Take extra narcotics and have your food already on you so you don't risk de-rendering your potential tame. I used a griffin with an acendant xbow, but take caution I got dismounted in the snow and lost my lvl 253 griffin from a purlovia and a pack of dire wolves.

I've tried both aerial solo methods not using a Griffin.

A Tapejara, while harder to catch because of how skittish they are, takes much less resources. You can either land the Tape or use an Archaeopteryx to switch seats midair (then throw away your poor archae). Tape method just requires landing (or an optional Archae) + tranq darts/cbow tranq arrows whereas Argie method takes grappling hooks, parachute, and tranq items.

If you have access to a snow owl this will work. Bring four regular Dino gates ( metal stone wood whatever, it doesn’t matter), and bring your tranq rifle. Fly above the quetzal with the owl and freeze it. You and the quetzal will fall down to the ground. Then, quickly place the gates around it so that it can’t get out. Don’t waste time trying to make it look like a trap, just place gates around it so it can’t move. Then tranq it out, feed it, and voila you have a quetzal

i was out taneing and the second quez i found was a 150 female so i went into the second seat on my griffin and whistled on it and started shooting it when i got to the red woods i whistled my griffin on passive cuz it was gettin close but then it just disappeared gone poof i thought the game had laged and it flew of rly fast but no cuz i looked around it was nowhere to be seen so yeh i 150 max lvl female quetzal just disappeared wtf?!? i got soo lucky on my 2nd try i knew it was gonna happen 😔 ark plz fix this ima now gonna have to spend like 50 years finding a max lvl female 😒😞☹️

I'd say one of the easyist way to tame this thing is to use a tapajara and rare flowers because then the quetz won't run away

If you kill a low lvl (low hp) and take the implant you can revive it in your base with a revival platform. Build a base around the platform so that he cant fly away when you revive it. I did it with a lvl 2 and I was done in 5 minutes. It took me 30 amber to revive it and 2 prime meat with a x15 balm. EASY!!

If you don't have another Quetzal, the easiest way to tame it is to use Argentavis - Grappling hook strategy. Set up keys for attack this target and move to in settings. Then jump from Argentavis and hook onto him (do this at low altitude in case you fall). Then you just whistle move to Quetzal and shoot with Tranquilizer Darts from Longneck Rifle. When it starts fleeing whistle attack on Quetzal so that you catch up with him. Make sure that you whistle move to before Argentavis actually attacks Quetzal. Super spyglass is of great help too because you can see torpidity and make sure you don't knock it out above water

I found a level 300 at the red obelisk. Very easy tame, all i had to use was 30 spike walls, a Tapejara, and darts.

Just use rare flowers and leaD into a stone gate traps for shoot tranqs in its Mohawked head

Don't wait until you're level 85 and is able to tame a griffin. Even though it is the easiest method to tame a quetz for the first time, its not worth the wait since Tapejaras exist. Make sure to fly high enough so that your tapejara don't automaticlly fly to the ground and then swap to the passanger seat. Whistle target while aiming at the quetz and your Tapejara will fly towards the quetz. If you're near enough, whistle passive and shoot at the quetz. Repeat this and you will have a knocked quetz. And don't worry, Tapejaras stamina won't slowly dissapear when you're on the passanger seat. And don't forget to bring a parachute just in case

If you did find a quetzal and have a server of 2, you could use a Griffin to get it out of the sky but you can also use a argi and grapple to it to knock it out

More unconventional way of taming would be to pop a rare flower whilst it’s near and then trapping it with behemoth gateways
