If you are using tapjara(mobile)the easy way is to fly towards the qutzal and click the chair button to your right side of your attack button then use your tropor weapon to shoot then again change to rider seat and do this step this is the easy way to tame a qutzal in ark mobile

Use a Tapejara to tame them go to passenger seat and shoot them with Trank darts it’ll take like 30

ONLY WORKS WITH GOD CONSOLE

Get a high lvl and KO it. (Knock out) start spamming level up target on god console and it makes it go quicker. CAUTION be careful of the torpor drop. It goes from full to very empty very fast

The Tapejara trick works by siting on the back and attacking the quetzal. Also make sure your Tapejara doesn’t hit it to much so it doesn’t die like mine did

Just shoot with Chianti’s bola form pararacer platform saddle the knock it boom

For frist tame better find the lower lvl, after that u can put trap on it and trap higher lvl,

Use a few Rare Flower to get it mad at you and to make it follow you into a trap(make sure to build one preahead of time) close the trap and start hitting it with some sort of tranqs.

Formula for KO:

(Lvl. minus 1) x (torp. level up/level) + (torp. for lvl. 1) : (torp. for weapon) = (amount of tranqs needed for KO)

Example: Quetz lvl. 83 Weapon: Tranq dart

82 x 111 + 1850 : 221 = 50 tranq darts

This works for pretty much every dino that is torpor tamed

Just use a Griffin and follow it around tranqing it, i just tamed a 180 tek quetz and it fell asleep on a perfect mountain!

Oh also bring far more then what dododex says, it told me I had more then enough tranqs but it still didn't go down

Good way to tame solo is to sit on the front seat of a tapejara (with not too much melee damage) and set it to attack. Then just aim for it’s head. When it lands, make sure u have spiked walls to surround it as many things will want to eat it. Go for a low level quetzal for ur first one

Take double nay, triple the amount of tranq arrows (if thats what ur using) as half of the shots you take won’t actually hit due to a weird hitbox. Also take excess narcotics as this poor birb gets nightmares and likes to wake up quick!

If you didn't know this already quetzals never land unless there tamed.

To solo take a quetzal I used a snow owl to freeze it midair and then placed stone gates on top of it. From there just knock it out and start taming

Use the net gun on one and then build a trap around it. Easy as that

First of all, set up 3 dinosaur gates in a square shape.

Now, find your quetzal, and hit it with 1 dodo arrow until it chases you. When it starts to chase you, quickly lead your quetzal to the trap and trap it. As soon as your quetzal is trapped, put the last dinosaur gate right behind the quetzal, to stop it from moving quickly. Now, knock it out.

Very easy to tame if you can get yourself a griffin

While I’ve never managed to tame one personally despite my efforts, I think I have a general idea of how these guys are tamed. The Quetzal taming process is divided into sections called “Stages”. I am doing this to make it easier to understand.

Stage 1: “The Prep Period”

As it’s name suggests, during Stage 1 you will be making preparations for the initial taming procedure. These preparations are no easy feat, so be careful. You will want to do the following:

-Gather biotoxin to keep the Quetzal asleep (ideally with a Spino for melee damage and for luring Cnidaria to shore easily)

-Gather meat (and prime meat, if possible) for the actual taming procedure.
