Use a snow owl and freeze it and while its frozen build dino gates on it.

If you have a rhygnio you can just shoot it from the back, otherwise just fly high jump off something and parachute (make sure ur bird is on follow that's how I lost a snow owl)

I didn’t have a Tapejara so this method isn’t ideal unless you just can’t find one on the map:

I put a few grappling hooks, parachutes, and tranq arrows in my Argie until I found a Quetzal. At first I tried to grapple the Quetzal (which succeeded AT FIRST) but the moment it began to flee the hook was consumed and I almost died. Instead I grappled my Argie, shot a tranq, and whistled it to attack the Quetzal; as soon as it fled the Argie zoomed after it and the chase was on! Because I was grappled onto my bird close to the feet I had to time the shots just right so that the Argie’s wings didn’t take the arrow during the flying animation. The only downside to this is that there is a chance of the hook breaking if the Quetzal flies into a cliffside and/or corner (parachutes solved this).

Tapejara is the smarter option, but if you want to get nyoomed through the sky while your Argie is in hot pursuit then this method is for you. It can take a few tries but as long as you have more than one parachute to open/close at the right time so you can secure the potential tame from being eaten by carnivores. Shocking darts are the way to go but for those not that far into the engrams, a few dozen tranq darts will suffice provided you make accurate shots. (Also don’t cryo your platform saddled Quetz like I did and be forced to rebuild :/)

Alright, so you have a low level quetzal and now you want to build a trap to tame a higher level quetz. But you realize that in some darn way you can’t fit 6 foundations on the mobile quetz platform like in pc or like the youtube tutorial have said. Here what you’ll need if you want to build a trap with only 2 stone foundations, this is for mobile player who cannot place 6 foundations like me:

- 2 stone foundations

- 24 stone ceilings

- 18 stone doorframes

- 16 stone pillars

- 1 dino gateway (stone or wood works fine)

Now, start by placing down 2 stone foundations, then place the stone ceilings around it. If you do this correctly, you would have a 3x4 rectangle shape with the longer corner being by the quetzal’s wing area. On both the long corner, place 2 ceilings down in the middle. Now you should have a very scuff “+” shape. Place 4 pillar each on the ceilings you just placed and place doorframe on the corner of the trap. Place the rest of the ceilings on top. Now you should have a box with one side open, you’ll try to place down the stone gateway on this size when you have the quetz inside your box

I have run tested this 3 times, as i found 3 quetz in the same area. And this is how i got my lvl 100 female quetz

Here's how I tamed a quetz solo

Got the kibble, narcotics and spike walls.

Put the argy on follow and grapple hooked it while it was hovering in the air

Switched to crossbow with tranq arrows.

Left bumper+down arrow to make it go where I was aiming.

Guided it to quetz and chased it around shooting tranq arrows.

Steered argy down to where quetz was knocked out.

Put up spike walls and tamed quetz.

I found another quetz on the way back a d tamed it too.

If you don't have tapejara, you can craft parasutes, jump of a pteranodon or argentavis use parasutes and shooting in quetz(easy to do on mobile version of ark)

GUYS A MIRACLE HAS HAPPENED.My Quetz did not fall next to a carno,pulmo or a raptor

Easy KO just get on a fast Pteranodon and pick up a friend with shocking tranq darts and fly as fast as you can to keep up with it

to find one go to the redwoods where its the most common bring a flyer so you can parachute down into it and tranq it watch out for microraptors thylas and carnos

The best way for me was to get tame a scorpion and argy with good speed and stamina and set the scorpion to aggressive pick it up with argy and follow the quetz with the scorpion at its butt to easily ko it it takes a lot less time and resources then other options mostly because argy saddle is level 46 (I think) and most people would give you a saddle if your too low level (pro tip about this method: put attack in the scorpion till it’s attack percentage is 300)

If u go on front seat of tape and whistle attack on quetzal it will be one the easiest tames you ever done

They can be caught with a net from the net gun, makes knocking one out way easier

Use 2 of them people on 1 shooting it and the other hovering under it and when you k o it carry it were you want it

Taming quetzal is easy if you can starve tame go to the red obesilisk nock it out then starve tame :3

Just use a Griffin if your able to tame a Griffin

-Go Gen2

-Get a Harpoon gun with Netprojectile

-Net it and Shot in its Hair (A lot more damage)

-You have a Quetzal, congrats

This is how I tamed my qwesel sorry I’m a bad speller I got my tap and trank darts wiseled attack and hoped in the front darted it down by the swamp peaceful tame easy I was just paranoid

Just use a net gun to get head shot every time

I tamed one of these big birds and realized that I can’t watch other creatures while riding on it. I always need to grab out my spyglass and watch other creatures’ levels.

Rare flowers do not have a rage effect on mobile!
