Something you can do if you dont wanna go through the pain of knocking it out of the sky is to kill it then respawn it at an obelisk or respawning platform and have a taming cage built around it(that's how I tamed most of my dinos😂)

Are these supposed to be super rare cuz on my single player save there's to in the sky kinda low like every time I look up into the sky ps I my base is on cragg's lsland

I decided to do the strat where i grapel to my argentavis and make him aggro to the quetzal. I damn near hit the quetzal 100 times with darts and it wont get knocked out (lvl 95 qtz). SOMEONE PLZ HELPP

The best way to knock it out is too ride a griffin and take out your Tranq gun and shoot it in the head.

If you want to tame it or encounter it just remember not to build structure near red oblisk and it will spawan at red oblisk if you build structure or keep your dinos in range of 2km its ok it will spawn but be building and kepping all out of 2 km of red oblisk

*CREEPY* i finally knocked out a quetzal just now and i heard something creepy… i was on single player and i heard someone die…

On Mobile, randomly encountered a lvl 280 by Red Obelisk. Chased down on my Argy with my Pteranodon set to attack. Between the two of them, was able to bring it down, get implant, and revive WAY easier than trying KO from a Tapejara.

They spawn near green ob on island. On ragnarok they spawn on the outskirts of Viking bay, as well as over the plains outside of the dragon trench. On valguero they spawn pretty much everywhere you can find 2 or more recessed in one spot, or wherever Gigas spawn.

My base is literally built on red obelisik but I haven't even encountered one :(

I was using a rocket launcher in the redwoods and I found one but I accidentally blew it up😔😔😔😔

Quetzals will most likely spawn inbetween Craggs Island and the Red Obelisk, around 85,20, its spawn is just above the river that flows through the side of the island

If you cant find any at the red obelisk check the snowy mountainous areas

Quetzal is one of the most rare dinosaur in ark if see one. force to tame with rex kibble.

They aren’t always near obelisks. I have been searching for one for days now, have circled the island many times and even done a server reset and have yet to see one near an obelisk. The 2 I did find were near the redwoods and died upon KO due to a troodon pack

These are rare. I haven't seen one since I saw one on my old multiplayer server - Roccky the one that has 0 luck
