Best way to solo tame this is to use a griffin and follow and shoot it with tranq darts.

Find a really low level one to start with then it will be easzier to tame higher level ones

It's only an idea i think with rare flowers you can attract them to a behemoth trap like what we do with the wyverns to get her milk

Sometimes their at mountains (bases or peaks) other times you can find one above or near the redwoods or a forest, me and my friend found one above the swamp also, and tranqed it out finally in the redwoods, if it fell a little lower it would have drowned.

DON’T chase it through the redwoods. Bad idea.

If u eat rare flower the quetzals will chases so u can lure it into a trap/wyvern trap

You can solo tame a quetzal by using a longneck rifle or crossbow on a Griffin. It's easier if you stay above them and look down.

If you're looking to solo tame, don't even bother using a chain bola, speaking from experience. You'll only get like one dart in before it breaks free and flies far away from your precious mountain as you squeal in pain. Stick to the argent method you see all over. Grapple onto an argent and repeatedly whistle to attack and whistle passive to chase it around and tranq it, or hope it somehow gets stuck and tranq it in the butt.

You can easy solo tame one with a tapejara. Just sit on the front seat and whistle attack this target. If you come to close just whistle passive.

Just used over 120 tranq darts and it didn't knock out. So stupid

Get yourself a Tapejara if you want to solo-tame a Quetzal. Move the "attack target" command and the passive command on two keys of your choice. Bring a scope with you and whisper attack the target. If the Tapejara is close to the Quetz whisper passive and start shooting tranq arrows at it until its downed. Its a bit tricky first, but if you figure the timings out its very easy to execute. If its downed build a small house around it so it wont get killed ;)

Just have a buddy pick you up with an argy, I tamed a lvl 44 with around 30 tranq darts, didn't land for stamina once and my argy has 1,500 stamina

Get a tapejara, and sit in the front passenger seat while it is hovering (won't fly if it's landed) and use the whistle to a location command to keep making it fly toward the quetz

Once you see it, whistle attack and it won't be able to hit it but pull be able to shoot it with tranq arrows until it gets knocked out.

You can always tame a low level quetzal by Toruk Macto method.

You need a good speed argentavis,few parachutes and electic prods. Fly your argentavis well above and slightly beyond a quetzal. Drop from the agentavis aim and throw the prod preferably in the head and parachute down and feel like a boss...

Get Tapajara, dump all upgrades into stamina, go to the red obelisk, fly around Obelisk until 1 spawns, land get in front seat, use whistle Commands to control Tapajara, whistle attack and use tranq darts while following quetzel, don't allow Tapajara to make contact, Do not drop quetzel over water

Don't art know small dinos under the belly of the quetz you will end up killing the bird
