Freeze the quetz with a snow owl, so it will drop to the ground. Get on the ground... Quetz

Quetzals spawn most commonly at the red obelisk, I’ve only seen two, one at the obelisk and the other over the snow. The thing is most of them spawn at the red obelisk and then fly to a different part of the map, but they do spawn in other areas also.

i once found a quetzal near the red obelisk but i left it alone because my level was too low to knock it out...when i reached lvl 63 everytime i go to red obelisk i dont see any quetzal.. is that because i left the first quetzal alone? or its a bug? please someone help me with it tip and thank you!

If u wanna find one of these dudes try flyin frm the red obelisk to the green obelisk I guarantee it tht ull find one or two of em and beware of gators near the swamp. Recommended bird:tapejara, Argy Recommended land mounts:Marco /spino/iguanadon

Kill it and revive it in a taming chamber

They said there can only be one quetzal spawning on the Red Beacon but last time I saw TWO quetzals flying in the same area

So I tame both of them

When trying to knock out or kill it to get the implant from a parachute, remember that a parachute will glide for a really long time before touching the ground and by that time your quetz may be eaten on the ground.

Best done with a griffin, but tapejaras also work, as well as grappling on another flying mount

On mobile kill them make a hut on a obalisk and respond it

If you want to solo tame, first tame a scorpion and put it on aggressive. Then use a flyer to pick it up and chase the quetzal with it as the scorpion keeps stinging it and eventually knocking it out.

If you don't have have dodo arrows to attract it than use rare flowers.but in my case I saw my first quetzal on my birthday and it was a high level one well it got stuck on the cliff and I easily tranqued it.

You should get a grappler and attatch it to the quetz and start shooting it if you fall just in case get a parachute

Took more shocking darts than listed. 145 quetz took 20x shocking darts as headshots. No misses. Mastercraft rifle. Dodoedex showed 6x headshots.

Tek Quetzals require double of what it states. I wasted over 100 tranq darts and 40 tranq arrows and 60 narcotics on a 168 tek quetz. Dododex claimed it would only need 78 darts and no narcos. (X7 taming and 2 consumption multiplier). Keep in mind tek are stronger versions of the regular version.

Maybe too lazy to kill quetz and leave render? Go to red obelisk. Fly away, Tidy Save which removes all dinos out of render except tames. Then go to the sand area near red obelisk and wait for a quetzal to spawn. And thats how i tamed a 140 female quetzal, it was soo worth it! Also i realized that quetzals speed limit without ascendant creatures unlock is 200.0% By the way i tamed the 140 quetzal on a griffin with a journeyman crossbow with tranq arrows, it took over 100 arrows.

These things have low troipidy so give it bio toxin. ;)

When you find one grab an argy and attack it until it flies away, then wait for it to get out of sight then follow it and it will have slowed down and repeat. When it’s dead let it fall and go collect it’s implant then revive it at the revival platform with stone walls and a roof and you got your self a big Quetz
