Tips & Strategies

What are tips for quetzal? Tips and strategies for quetzal in ARK: Survival Ascended & Evolved.
I always find my quetzals at the red obelisk
How to tame a quetzal, solo, on mobile, with a pteranodon:
1. Ride your fastest mount, and kill a quetzal. Leave the body, and let it fall to the ground
2. Collect the creature implant from the dead body
3. Create a revival platform
4. Surround revival platform with metal foundations, and on those metal foundations, put a three-wall high metal fence (using the metal door frames). Cover the whole thing with metal roofing.
5. Revive the wild quetzal. It can’t escape, so just knock it out with darts or poisons arrows etc
You now have a quetzal
Is it just me who is really unlucky finding any quetzals
Searched the entire map 4 times over and still no quetzal
Just because it's not 2017 anymore doesn't mean that the quetz is outclassed because it's super underrated rn, if you raise and imprint a mutated one it will rule the skys and ground , with the large weight you can easily farm mountains while carrying a magmasaure
Or have a mammoth stand on its platform and ram into trees (even if the mammoth is encumbered u can still get wood) super useful and deserving of more love
For mobile
1Find quetzel
2 kill quetzel
3 get artifact implant
4 build trap on Revive platform
5 have 20 Ancient amber or more depending on lvl
6 knock it out while it's still inside your trap
7 Give Rex kibble and done
THIS IS THE EASIEST WAY BUT THE EXPENSIVE WAY TO
Well this is how I do it you can shoot on tapejaras so get one make a saddle crossbow with tranqs and shoot it up to 19-70 times
If you tame this cooked fish meat your a god and deserve a medal
If you have a friend playing with you. Get an Argentavis, make your friend lift you using Argentavis and shoot the Quetz from there.
If youre solo, you can use Tapejara, jump on the passenger seat and just command the Tapejara to chase the Quetz, this can be a bit challenging because the whistle doesnt work well all the time.
Before you knock out the Quetz, make sure it wont fall into the ocean or river, so it wont drown. Feed it with the neccesary taming food, and there you have it.
Honey attracts all nearby creatures when dropped by selecting it in the hotbar, and since you can drop them while riding a creature you can use this to lure quetzals to the ground and trap them with dino gates.
Qetals are ALIENS! creatures. They are very rare, but the main thing is that they never go down, unless you made one unconces. They even spawn on the air, but how do they grow up and be not hungry, thirsty, but healthy. If they can survive up there they arn't normal creatures. They have to be a different complex organisms. UP for more documentaries.
I think it is good to tame the lowest lvl you can find then give it a platform saddle and then tame you high lvl
I think I found the way to actually get them to spawn so people are saying they spawn near the red obb almost every time I have tried to kill multiple creatures there a bunch of times and still no quetzel but I think I found the solution because I heard somebody say that there is a bug where they will only fly towards the redwoods so I think that they fly to the redwoods and I remember seeing one in the redwoods and disappearing never seeing it again but it's probably somewhere in the dense part of the redwoods so you need to do a Dino wipe if you cannot find one And then check the red obelisk (btw I have not tried this yet But it might be the solution) (oh and note I think 1-2 can exist on the map at a time and that's why you see another one here and there) (Another note I play on ark survival evolved for the Nintendo switch And I am playing on The Island) good luck:)
Ive literally only ever seen one in my entire 2 years on th ark. And it was tek. What. :|
I used the attach yourself to the argue method. It was my first time trying and wasn't hard at all. I like this method it's fun as heck to. But my quartz got eaten as soon as it landed 😆 ark............
Beware if you lead one far from its spawn point and knock it out, don’t fly too far away. I knocked out a level 140 on one of the glaciers after luring it down from the snow mountain with honey. After trapping, knocking it out, and taming it to 75%, I decided to make a quick run back to base. It was safe way out on the floating ice as nothing spawns out there but as soon as it left render, it despawned. I am sad, have been waiting forever to find a high level one. Now back to waiting because of my mistake.
