Please tell me you all know the pain of taming a quetzal.

I went through about more than 10 quetzals, and 2 of them were knocked. Execept the first one woke up, and the second one died. Finally, I knocked a blue quetzal out on a mountain. (Btw, tidy saving and knocking quetzals took 2 irl days), the blue quetzal was tamed and I took it all the way back to my base. I just learned Quetz saddles aren't unlocked at lvl 71, so I got to do it the quest way. Killing argies quest will give you an ascendant saddle I think. But seriously, the main purpose of this is to tell you how hard it was to tame a quetzal. Ecspecially for people who used Tapejaras...

Most of the quetzals were too high of a lvl, and desired ones got away. Anyways have a good day...

Why does ARK treat this thing like it’s a Aztec god? Because it’s actually named after one! The name Quetzalquatlus comes from an Aztec god named Quetzalquatl. And it truly acts like a god in ARK as an areal base to play Darude Sandstorm(original idea from comment suggesting the use of a party Quetzal)!

When you knock out a Quetzal build a wooden spike all around it as Carnos and other carnivores will attack it.

On the maps like Fjordur where you can tame the Desmodus, it's really easy to tame a Quetzal. Just follow behind on your Desmodus and shoot it with tranq arrows or darts. Just make sure that you don't make it pass out over water!

On a brontosaurus with a platform saddle take ballista turrets and chain bola and aim fire and knock out tame and that’s how u tame a quetzal for beginners

People make this too complicated. Net gun it to the ground and trap with wooden gateways

Get an argue slightly faster than a running quetzal

Grapple on too argue then wishil attacking the argue gets too close whisil passive repeate till quest is koed

Use a tapajara to make it much easier

If you have snow owl freeze it hen build a trap then knock it out

If you are new to utilising quetzals, just know that some non official tricks won't work on official. I learnt that the hard way

In Ragnarok, use a griffin. You can shoot from their back while still steering. Super easy KO.

I literally had never been to red obilisk, so one day I went, the literal first thing I saw was a quetzal and a titanisaur

I found one stuck in a wall on extinction, easiest tame ever

on the center when you get a low lvl quetz skip the trap and use platform quetz to hit high level with tranq arrows until he flies into cliff. park your quetz quickly behind it and switch to darts not missing a beat since stoping will allow quetz to turn and escape. every time ive done this the tame usually falls in safe high area

For those who have potato phones don't try to tame this guy using the argy method it's a waste of time because of the frame drop and it gonna cost alot of darts/tranq cus you gonna keep losing your shot so just kill this guy and get the implant.

Easy knock out.... fly a wyv next to it quickly jump of shoot with net parachute down. Shoot it in its face until falls asleep. Feel like an ARK God forever.

for single player /solo play get a tapejara, switch seat, shoot, switch seats again, rinse and repeat, make sure to take spikes lots of narcs and food with you. so much easier than messing around with grapple.
