These are incredibly fun to breed…

Track down and tame 3-5 high level Ptera and compare their stats….then breed them together until you have a super Ptera that has inherited its strongest ancestors stamina/weight/hp/melee…

On their own, they have pretty limited combat potential… but they become absolutely LETHAL in groups. If you’ve been breeding them you’ll likely have some expendable ones that you can take out hunting with you…

In ‘flocks’ of 5-10 they can demolish almost anything you set them on and their insane flight speed means their attacks are always perfectly coordinated (no getting stuck on slopes/rocks/trees).

Tame one of these because they move you around the map quickly plus they have a boost of speed to get away from dinos but it takes a lot of stamina.

To mobile barrel roll change your right or left double tap to jump/alt attack 1 in the controls

They are VERY easy to find on highlands NE Ragnarok.

You can perch on the very tips of redwood trees to regain stamina. (At least that’s how it works on MOBILE.)

If you want to level Them up (of course you do) i have a strat

Fly low and kil Evert thing you can one of two hit defenitly use a barrelrol to Dash attack on your target

If the barrel roll isnt working for u(on mobile),try pinching the screen,it helped me

When you first tame one find explorer notes to level up weight and stamina (these are the only stats they need) they’re good for killing brontos and most Dinos and very good tame

nerfed! be very careful now they Nerfed flyers. there set speed is set to 100 and you can't add points into speed anymore. so plan your route cause you will need to stop while flying long way.

I just discovered my new favorite sport.

Step 1: Tame a pteranodon

Step 2: Pump all levels into movement speed

Step 3: Craft crossbow and grappling hooks

Step 4: Grapple to pteranodon

Step 5: Whistle “attack target” at anything

Step 6: Pull out pike and start jabbing at the air

Enjoy the ride as you are whipped in all directions, and occasionally hit your target!

Tip: Watch your health! This activity may result in being smashed to the ground several times!

Do not ride one of these in red woods for your own good

If you want to explore ark tame one but i prefer high lvl one cus its fast,high hp and weight it carries is only around 100kg -300kg but when lvled up it can be 400-600kg

used for exploring and finding creatures that are worthy

One thing about pteranadons pump about all their level ups into weight stamina and some into health and if your on pvp pump some into damage

At least on Ark Mobile, pteranodons are able to fit through doorframes. You could use this to your advantage (for taming, or whatever you think of/come up with).

If your on mobile, barrel roll through a creature while looking at it with your spyglass and it does like 500-100 damage per barrel roll. I kill alpha rexes this way

How to Retrieve your Pteranodon if you lose it

1. Prepare food and healing potions incase it's hurt

2. Go to your character page

3. Click on "Tames XX/40"

4. Scroll down to the tame you want to retrieve

5.request the game to your location and wait for transfer.

6. Whistle it to stop incase that traitor tries to Escape again

7. Beat it with a club.

I remember getting stuck in the artic because my pteranodon went to fly away. Half way across the map. Had to tame raptors and walk half the way nearly getting killed by terror birds very often.

MAKE SURE IT HAS A LOT OF STANIMA (I can’t spell lol)

As far as I’m aware pteranodons don’t go down when they run out of stamina while over water but don’t take my word for it. Test in a controlled environment first

Literally carrying until you get a Tapejara or Argy

Fun fact:u can do more dmg without it being imprinted, all u gotta do is get the spyglass in ur hotbar, mount ur dino and then, attack a wild dino and perfectly timing using the spyglass, this is actually maybe a bug where it shows that the spyglass is way stronger (with a mount). It actually works on every dino (if they're saddled and tamed), so u can use this to either level ur dino faster or whatever u want to do with this tip. Make sure to use it tho!
