Use a Pteranodon in the Wyvern cave in rag to get Wyvern eggs. Pteranodons are fast and if you put enough points on health, you’ll be able to survive at least one blast from a Wyvern. Just remember that you can’t unlock the saddle until level 38!

Bola it and shooting in the body with two to three tranq arrows if it's level 50 to 100 use one tranq arrow to the Head and one to the body hope this strategy works for you guys

Essential early game tame, but they're extremely squishy and years of nerfs have curbed their usefulness. I normally only deploy pteranadons in emergencies, to quickly retrieve a body and/or tame. They have their pvp applications too of course, but the pteranadon is largely just an early stepping stone on your way to bigger and better fliers. Set your sights for the argentavis next.

They are a pretty easy tame I would recommend getting a low level if you are quite new as if you put them in the roof or get them to follow you they will get heaps of exp they are really useful for a metal run if you get argues you follow you as they don’t run out of stamina if they follow you

How to tame one of these

1: Bola or trap it (optional)

2: Use a club, slingshot, or tranqs to knock it out

3. Feed it meat

4: Occasionally feed them narcos or biotoxin

5: Wait

6: Equip a saddle on it and enjoy your new ptera

If you dont double tap on ark ultimate mobile edition to sprint with your pteranodon you will fly slowly without loosing stamina

When using the barrel roll watch the pteradons torpidity it could go unconscious mid flight

Starfall (my pt) max level tame

He can’t carry anything (all pts suck at carrying)

He does tons of dmg

He has lots of stamina

Doesn’t have ton of health but his speed and agility always saves him (and me, I am worst ark player ever)

Overall these things are great as first flyer

If one were to tame a low level pteradon, it should be put to use as a travel bird, nothing more, for it is too weak for anything else. However. High level pteradons are excellent for fighting, kibble tamed 100+ can be used to kill alphas, in packs, or alone in niche cases.

Bola it. Tranq it out. Have Narco berries or narcotic already prepared to be force fed to it (the torpor drains relatively fast and it is easier to have it already than panic berry picking). When I first started playing I didn’t know you select an item in your inventory and it highlights. Now if you hold down the selection it will transfer the item into the tame’s inventory. Now you can force feed Narco berries or narcotics to the Dino to keep it asleep (right trigger on console). If you have a LOT of a particular thing you want transferred in bulk (like prime meat singles) type “prime” into the little search bar at the top of the inventory containing the prime and hit the criss/cross arrow button next to it and all the prime will select and transfer all at once. Happy hunting.

They are fast for flying across long distances, and not getting attacked or killed. although, they are horrible for carrying lots of materials, over a long distance, if you need to do that, get an argy.

I feel like the saddle should be unlocked earlier, like level 20 or 25. 38 just seams to much cuz they are soooo easy to tame.

Best way to knock them out is to bola it, then fire 2-4 tranq arrows. Kibble is godly for taming high levels

In ark mobile idk why but their torpor drops decently fast so bring a couple of narcotics and in multiplayer NEVER EVER BE OFFLINE WHILE TAMING A PTERANODON,IT WILL JUST WAKE UP AND WASTE ALL YOUR HARD EARN Resources,I learn this the very hard way.

It is way easier to use bola on these while they’re on the ground. It is much harder while they’re in the air. Just beat them with bat when they are stuck. Then use raw meat to tame. It doesn’t take much meat but it does take a long time.

A spino just killed my pteranodon rip Ramble you will be missed

These are incredibly fun to breed…

Track down and tame 3-5 high level Ptera and compare their stats….then breed them together until you have a super Ptera that has inherited its strongest ancestors stamina/weight/hp/melee…

On their own, they have pretty limited combat potential… but they become absolutely LETHAL in groups. If you’ve been breeding them you’ll likely have some expendable ones that you can take out hunting with you…

In ‘flocks’ of 5-10 they can demolish almost anything you set them on and their insane flight speed means their attacks are always perfectly coordinated (no getting stuck on slopes/rocks/trees).

You use a Bola and then hit it with a club or slingshot then you feed it raw meat dodo kibble or raw prime or mutton and just in case grab some cooked prime meat

WARNING~

dont send your ptera to fight another one cause they will continue to spiral upwards and fly super far in the sky, and you'll lose them. I thought I lost mine, then I found you can summon them so I got him back. He was tamed at level 150😁

HOW TO TAME A PTERANODON:

Step 1. Gather around 20 meat.

Step 2. Craft one bola.

Step 3. Make around two Narcotics.

Step 3. Bola a Pteranodon that is on the ground and use your FIST to knock it out.

Step 4. Feed it meat.

Step 5. If it gets close to waking up, exchange the meat for a narcotic.

Step 6. Protect it from other animals until it’s tamed.

Step 7. ENJOY YOUR NEW PTERANODON!
