Easy. Bola, club to the face, raw meat. Make sure you have some narcotics.

These things are vicious when you steal their eggs. One time, I did so, and I just see this oversized death seagull flying at me and it pecked at me until I succumbed to my wounds. If you have the proper equipment these things are fairly easy to kill.

Be sure you whistle (follow) when riding your tame. If you accedntly jump off or get saddle jacked off your bird, he will follow you to the ground and you will have a better chance to recover your tame.

The easiest to obtain; and best, for stealing wyvern eggs. Get about 1400 stamina into a pteranodon, steal wyvern egg, and then barrel role away. They can easily outrun a wyvern this way.

I suggest taming a lvl 120 cuz they are really op and when tamed they are lvl 180 and they can carry decent weight and 1k stamina I tamed one and I named her Aurora and we killed 4 brontos and two spino together and tamed a lvl 95 therizino and she was the best *she's still alive btw

Bio Toxin is a amazing replacement for narcotic. To adds more torpor ( 80+ ) while Narcotic is half ( 40+ ) Bio toxin is easy to get and you get lots of it!

If you are out of stamina, you should land on a tall rock so predators do NOT attack you while your filling stamina! (This goes for argys also)!

Do not underestimate these, lost a 218 rex to two guys on pteras, the barrel roll attack is super strong. Level Melee damage and stamina

Upgrade their stamina and weight a LOT. This flyer is worth it, upgrade his health and melee dmg enough and it can take out raptors on its own (my lvl24 pteranodon killed a lvl20 raptor and succeeded with half of his HP). These lovely birds are easily encumbered by the weight you're carrying so it's preferent if you use lighter armor and leave a few items in the storage so that it's not slow.

I got one of these things eggs and it attacked it was so fast that I couldn’t shoot it with my rifle.

These are great for traveling long distances in but make sure you level up their weight to 300 so they can easily carry you. Some lower level ones can't carry a person with any armour.

Pteranodons and other creatures can carry according to the poop size , pteranodons can carry small sized poop

For some reason, they seem to tame faster when you are not staring at them, this is not because I was excited I think it actually works! This is for mobile but it may work on other devices. Up if helpful! :)

If you are on mobile and you are a beginner trying to tame a pteranodon. I recommend using dodo kibble if the pteranodon is on a high level as meat can make taming take ages. And remember to use plenty of narcotic.

Honestly,People are saying things about knocking it out with guns and tranquilizer arrows.What if your near the start of the game? Well,Here's my tip:

Bola it (You can make one pretty early on) and then knock it out.(You can use fists or clubs or anything like that) but make sure you have Narcotics.It's impossible to tame without atleast 15.(This was learned through personal experience)Then give it meat and bam.Tame.

To barrel role on Switch is to just push down (like a button) on the right joystick.

Use a Pteranodon in the Wyvern cave in rag to get Wyvern eggs. Pteranodons are fast and if you put enough points on health, you’ll be able to survive at least one blast from a Wyvern. Just remember that you can’t unlock the saddle until level 38!

Bola it and shooting in the body with two to three tranq arrows if it's level 50 to 100 use one tranq arrow to the Head and one to the body hope this strategy works for you guys

They are a pretty easy tame I would recommend getting a low level if you are quite new as if you put them in the roof or get them to follow you they will get heaps of exp they are really useful for a metal run if you get argues you follow you as they don’t run out of stamina if they follow you

Essential early game tame, but they're extremely squishy and years of nerfs have curbed their usefulness. I normally only deploy pteranadons in emergencies, to quickly retrieve a body and/or tame. They have their pvp applications too of course, but the pteranadon is largely just an early stepping stone on your way to bigger and better fliers. Set your sights for the argentavis next.
