How to tame a pteranodon:

1. Grab some bolas

2. After finding a pteranodon, throw a bola at it

3. You can shoot at it with a tranquilizing ammo like tranq arrows or certain darts. Or use clubs and slingshots.

4. After it's knocked out, you can feed it meat. But I highly recommend feeding it dodo kibble as it's easy to make and speeds up the taming process.

5. I always forget to mention this, but you might need some narcotics.

Advice, If your pteranadon flies into a small space (eg, any cave enterance designed for you to go through with no mount) Please either put it into a cryopod, or request it if you’re on mobile, I lost my best pteranadon because it flew into a cave enterance, Then got stuck, I tried to lead it out, But ark insta-killed it for clipping into a wall(?) Don’t make my mistake.

Pteranodon are incredible useful and can be a really good first flyer. Here is why:

-very easy creatures to tame. You just need a bunch of raw prime fish meat ( you can collect a lot by killing sabertooth salmons with sickle and collect their meat ) and 3 tranqs ( or 1 with a X-bow ). I should recommend taking 4 raw prime fish meat and 2 narcs also for the taming.

-They take quiet fast level up after taming and can fast get to 400-500 health.

-They do quiet a lot of damages ( I managed to kill a low level Rex with a lvl 5 pteranodon and a spike ).

- They are quiet fast and even tough not the best for collect and harvesting, they are incredibly useful for exploration of the map.

-When out of energy, their stamina reloads fast.

BUT: To not loose every ptera you tame, here are some tips:

-When they are out of stamina, they will land and you can’t really control where. So make sure there are not carnivors or any aggressive dinos around when you’re low on energy, or you might die very fast ( especially Rex, Allo, Spino and of course gigas ). Since they are flyers and quiet small, you can easily land on rocks that carnivores can’t access ( and you can regain stamina safely )

-Make sure to always have some food to feed them ( as they starve quiet fast when out of food ).

-When you want to tame a dino, land with them on a rock and set them on « passive » so they will be safe waiting for you and they will not attack and kill ( or get killed by ) the dino you’re trying to tame.

-When you land, make sure they will not fall ( especially when exploring the big mountains ), bcs they will take a lot of fall damages.

You will make these mistakes, even tough you think about it, you will make them. ( I lost 10 pteras ). So I should recommend you to tame 5,6 of them to have some more if you come to die with one of them.

Official server: don’t try to club or fist knock out. Just gather the stupid narco berries, make the stupid tranq arrows, bola one, start firing. Hopefully this will knock it out before the bola wears off and it flies away. Have had them fall asleep mid take off.

You will need to tranq it some more if you’re using raw meat.

Narcoberries work, but i usually just stick em in the wing with another tranq arrow. Check its health first.

Also, it won’t pick up a raptor, but it will pickup a baby raptor.

God I love survival ascended.

Really it’s just because you can find plenty of babies to imprint on. Kill or take the parents and press imprint on the baby

This is an easy how to tame.

1st. Have a bola (level 7 or 8 I cant remember)

2nd. Shoot it with your bola and use your fists or tools to knock it out

3rd. Feet it meat and narcro berries (to keep it asleep)

4th. You have your pet!

A dodo to pteranodon to turtle to bronto

Seems like a good deal

My Dino is 45 in levels and 4 Dinos easy

Bowler it then knock it out with any taming tool some examples slingshot with rocks and a bow with trank arowws. (Hope this helps)

Use ranged for combat or bola it to use melee weapons. Warning, do not take the egg from one, they are quick.

How to tame craft 8 nartoics then get 10 to 20 raw meat and bola with a bat bola pteranodon knock out with bat feed raw meat when unconsciousness low feed nartoic.

Well prime meat can be used but if you don’t have its kinda not okay because it takes a long time for it to get tamed and another thing please protect it when it’s unconscious because a Dilo killed mine when I wa seaming it 🥲 anyway soothing balm still works for it (if you have one) and it eats raw meat also don’t forget to bring narcotic because the unconscious meter gets low fast. That’s it have fun with it when you unlock its saddle and tame it when you are low level so he can be level up along with you so when you unlock its saddle it’s will be better for you

If you want to tame a pteranodon really fast your gonna want some dodo kibble to make it you need a cooking pot wood or thatch to lite it then fill up your water skin and put it in the pot full with water then get 3 fiber 2 mejoberry (purple berries) obviously a dodo egg cooked meat and a rockarrot then you don't need engrams or anything for it you just put it in your cooking pot and lite the thing and it cooks in about 30 seconds WARNING ROCKARROTS SPOIL REALLY FAST SO GRAB THEM LAST

Get a raptor for chitin or keritn if you are starting

This is how you do it:

-go to ragnarok (if you already have a character, if not go to the island for a quick xp run till lvl 40 or smth).

-spawn jungle 2 and harvest the shipwreck boxes on blue terminal. (If lucky you get metal crossbow, tools, and some arrows) and upload the stuff.

-spawn highlands 1-2 and harvest dead whales (for keratine to make the pte saddle later on)

-tame an ecuus (horse) so you can travel easier harvest narco berry’s easy and knockout pte if needed.

-find a pte (for crystals to make spyglas check the small cave upstream the bigger cave)

-once u tamed the pte, go upload it (saddle separately) and go to an island server to do an xp run with a lvl 1 character.

How to Tame a Pteranodon: Guide for Noobs

1: to tame a Pteranodon you need these items:

❤️Raw or cooked meat.

🧡Narcoberries or narcotic.

💛Bolas. I recommend at least 3 of them in case it escapes.

💚A club or fists.

💙You may want a saddle prepared ahead of time.

💜Make sure the taming speed isn't at 1 in the settings.

🖤Now since you have the supplies, find your Pteranodon! I recommend a high level.

To bola your Pteranodon, hold down the right mouse button, (FYI I don't play on mobile) then when you correctly aimed it at your Pteranodon, release and it throws it at it.

Pteranodons are scaredy cats, so if it escapes, wait for it to land again and re-bola it. Once you got it down, hit it with the club or fists until it knocks out. Feed it the meat. If the torpidity goes down, then feed it some narcotic. The taming effectiveness means the chance you will tame it, so always make sure it stays at least 98% or it might be unsuccessful. When the tame bar is 100%, you've got your Pteranodon! Don't forget to make the saddle and equip it onto the Pteranodon.
