Tips & Strategies

We all know how to tame a ptera by now, bola and pop it in the head with either a club for low levels or tranq arrows for high ones; but the real tip here is to use chitin for the saddle instead of keratin. 75 keratin is difficult to find quickly, but chitin is available via just about any bugs or other invertibrates, and they tend to drop a lot of it. One trilobite could probably net you all of the chitin you need, especially when carved by something like a moschops.

Lvl up their stamina to like 700.0 then start leveling up their weight cause the lighter the weight is the faster it flies and if YOUR weight is about half full then the pteranodon will either be encumbered or very close to it
If you find a level 5 one of these and gonna tame make sure you have 2 prime meat if it's normal all settings is normal and prime meat gives it 50% taming thing

Some info-
Let's face it, they're the first flyer you tamed. High levels are the best to tame, as their stamina stat is trash and you can use the highest level of stamina you can get without leveling up. Might (or might not) be replaced by an Argy or Griffin (for fancy people).
Taming-
Super easy tames, a simple bola and tranq. Because of their tiny health pool I'd recommend tranq arrows and not a club or slingshot because, chances are, you'll just kill it before you knock it out. If you find a max level try to use kibble of raw prime, but normal meat works just as well. Even the lowest levels need a few narcotics, so bring some along no matter what level you're going after.
Saddling and stats-
Saddle requires fibre and hide (I think) as well as 75 keratin. Make sure to get the keratin before you can unlock the saddle. I know from personal experience that it sucks to unlock the saddle just to wait 10 in-game days for a turtle to spawn -_-
As for stats, they aren't too good. Low heath and stamina, although I personally only put points in stamina.

the best way to tame these guys is with dodo kibble . Most people would say tame them using prime meat but donβt listen to them because with prime meat it take a long to tame so I suggest dodo kibble itβs not that that expensive to make . And it take about 5-8 second to tame if you donβt believe me then go and experiment . Then leave a like
HOW TO TAME EASY!
- craft bola
- find pteranodon
- bola pteranodon
- knock out either using fist, sling shot, bat, or some sorta tranq thing (whatever works for you)
- feed meat (recommend using soothing balm before feeding meat)
- have fun with your pteranodon!
When taming a high level Pteranodon, always starve tame it that way you don't waste/lose your kibble if somebody/something hits/kills it.
I tamed one of these. It was a female. It was a beautiful sea green and brown. I let my mom name her and she chose the perfect name for her. Her name was Stella. She was killed saving me life. She fought off 3 rexes. (Killed them all). What killed her was a F***ING COMPY
When knocking pteranodons out, be sure to have a bola, it doesn't take many tranq arrows to knock it out. Once it is down, put spike walls up around it (with a little space so you can go in and out) so it doesn't lose taming efficiency or die.
Taming one is fairly easy wait for it to come down then use a bola and a club or any kind of ko tools
USE MEAT NOT BERRIES WAS CONFUSED AND ALMOST LOST IT
turns out they only tamed slowly
Dear Wild Card- PLEASE MAKE THEIR SADDLE A LOWER LEVEL! Iβm not asking for level five or something, 25 instead of 35 would be enough. Itβs such a pain to get.
